they are not interviewing 20-30 people- it's around 12 right now. That's a big difference. I don't see how looking for the best coach is a waste of time. By the nature of the profession it doesn't seem like a quick process. You just throw out numbers with no meaning - target 5 , maybe 10 - so maybe double the search..... 10 is ok with you , but the 12 they've interviewed is a waste of time?

it wasn't the same OL as last year. 2 different guards and a new right tackle. Pears and Urbik were at new positions, Williams started at LG, Richardson played a few games at LG.... not the same line.

no team would give up a high draft pick AND sign have to sign Byrd to a huge contract. I am sure Whaley is able to identify good QB talent better than any of us posters. Getting said QB on the team isn't as easy though.

Exactly. Clear as day. look at their feet. Equally bad call that day was McNair awarded a first down after review. He dove on the sidelines, marked short and replay gave him the first down. Impossible to see where he went out of bounds. Would have been fourth down and punt. Titans got points on that drive. More inexcusable call then the forward lateral.

totally agree. Jeff Wright too small as NT in a 3-4 as well.

If Frank Reich is head coach, and with Nolan coach of the Sabres, what will the media do ? They already refuse to criticize Nolan over lousy teams last year and this, will this be another lovefest regardless of team success or failure? Who will Sullivan criticize every week?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Nassib has never been mentioned on any other NFL teams forums as a potential starting QB, maybe including the Giants. Are you seriously willing to consider him as a starter for us next season?

Unfortunately for EJ, you don't too many chances. He may never get another opportunity with Buffalo, or Orton may get hurt next preseason... you don't know. There may have been many possible Kurt Warners that never got a chance, but that's life in the NFL. You earn your chance in practice and maybe because of injury. Coaches can't risk losing a game and maybe their job just to see if someone will play well, if they don't , they might have screwed themselves over.

no it doesn't - it means no major changes in the organization.

Why, just because you don't like him, He has 8, maybe 9 wins this year, more than many other NFL caliber coaches. He deserves another year.

I hear this criticism a lot and I don't get it. I know many have said that he would'yn play M Williams because he was stubborn, same for Urbik(who is terrible), i think people take such a simplistic approach to things and have no real idea what's behind his logic. If he was so stubborn, why not stick with EJ, I think Marrone is a good coach and with a good line and QB . we'd be in the playoffs. But my guess is that Whaley stays and coaching staff goes.

First, if you don't like the job someone is doing, that's fine, but to insult the way you do is not only immature, but in my opinion costs you credibility. next, you mention the talent on offense. Where is it? Is it better talent then most other teams have? I think the main problem with the offense is it's tremendous lack of talent. Nobody on the o-line is worth a crap, No QB and little depth and TE and WR. Hackett may be a problem, but with this offensive personnel it's really hard to be sure.

On par with Urbik? so what's the point of signing them. We are supposed to improve the line, no status quo.

With so few quality QB's around, it's absurd to think that a team with a solid one would let him go. Makes no sense. Especially with Eli.
