  1. I agree McCoy is not a punishing back. Disagree with everything else you wrote. can you back up any of those claims?
  2. He looks awful in coverage tonight.
  3. I honestly have no idea what that means.
  4. NE is a much better team than we are. Watkings is averaging 18.8 ypc. What more do you expect with YAC?
  5. the right side of our line fell apart later in the season.
  6. that's a very 'simplistic' explanation. The fact is , Alonso has never been good against the run, and if you can't shed blockers or contribute on running plays, you are pretty useless as a linebacker. As what happened with the Bills and now the Eagles, teams will run at him, a lot, because they will be successful, even if he may be good in coverage, he won't get too many chances to show it. Right now, he is a bad linebacker. Simple
  7. are there non athletic football players(other than kickers). What is 'simple football'?
  8. Did Polian say anything about improving the defense? because that was the reason we stunk the season. He's concerned about the backup QB position????? There are so many great ones to choose from, right Bill?
  9. You are tough. He will likely be the league MVP and deservedly so. You praise everyone on the offense but Newton. It makes no sense, the former number 1 overall pick , leading his team to a 14-0 record, is overrated?
  10. I'm not sure this is necessary. If our defense didn't take an enormous step backwards, we are likely in the playoffs this season. All other issues that Polian is said to have mentioned are issues any team deals with in the normal course of a season. If he did indeed make the comment about the 'aging offensive line', then I think there is concern that he is not totally aware of what's going on.
  11. maybe 'not strong enough' would be a better way to describe him, but just looking at him, he appears 'small' for his listed size. he would still be expected to tackle and handle blockers - he's not good at that wherever he lines up.
  12. You may not like the excuse, but it's a legitimate one. It may not be the only reason, but it's a big one. It's absurd to think that missing many of the people you were counting on to help you win not being there didn't hurt. There are certainly teams that have overcome injuries, but look at Dallas, a preseason Super Bowl candidate unraveled without Romo. Again, it's not the only reason, but it's a significant one.
  13. i usually dismiss most fans HC recommendations, but I like this one. He comes off as an excellent coach. Obviously learning from the best.
  14. People need to stop saying this. They are not. Hate this expression. Why do we need 'blue collar types'. What's wrong with having 'elite' type players.
  15. Did you watch Kiko last night, it was embarrassing. He is so bad, even Collinsworth singled him out. Eagles have up over 200 yards rushing and he could be seen on almost every running play , not making the play. The trade was steal.
  16. Roman wants to run the ball often and well. McCoy fits in very well with a team that wants to run. I don't see the problem with him fitting into Romans offense, he runs very well.
  17. not sure who his father is, but his grandfather is one helluva golfer.
  18. what is serviceable about a WR that has bad hands?
  19. If Whaley wasn't unhappy with Roman before, he should be now
  20. just like the Jets last season
  21. They allowed the tank, only after the initial free agent splurge failed, only then did he move on from Regier and eventually Ruff. Made a poor decision in allowing Lafontaine to hire Nolan, got lucky that Murray was hired and that Nolan was a horrible coach, allowing for the tank. It may work out well, but it really sucked watching the Sabres the last few seasons.
  22. What 90 are you referring to, the training camp roster? I think the GM has final say on the 53, I imagine most teams don't have a QB controversy, so there probably is agreement on QB starter, but that might be where problems may arise. I have to think, in a normal situation, that the GM and coach discuss difficult roster decisions or at least a direction to go in. But it is the GM's job to give the coach the roster he needs to succeed, then it's the coaches job to make it work on the field. But no doubt in my mind the GM has final say on the 53 and if it came down to it, the game day roster, but I can't imagine too many arguments over game day rosters except for QB. If they disagree too often, then you have problems.
  23. I think the GM controls the roster, yes. I'm sure some input from coaches but it's the GM's responsibility to assemble the roster. I didn't mention the game day roster.
  24. I'm not sure that's totally true.
  25. The Pegula's seem like slow learners. Set the Sabres back a few years with poor decisions, now take an up and coming Bills team and set them back. If Pegula hired Rex without Whaley's approval, it's all on him. Any sports fan could tell you the need for a GM and coach to be totally on the same page. According to initial press reports, the parties involved did say they were exactly on the same page, so what's the issue? Is this just more speculation without facts?
