  1. this seems to be the most overlooked issue this season, so much focus on TT. You give us the 2014 defense and we are in the playoffs.
  2. So what happened in the 2nd half against the Raiders that didn't happen in the first half. And remember , the Raiders were missing starters on defense. fair enough. ok.
  3. Don't quite know how to respond to this, but I think this line of yours says it all. "So to act like we must fill the holes with good players at WR, S, CB and RT to do so is ridiculous." I have egg on my face, I actually fell for your act. I thought you were being serious. Jokes on me. I'm a little more optimistic than you are, just a little though.
  4. I guess I look at things differently, maybe having watched these teams for over 40 years has me a little more results oriented. The first big decision was to hire Rex and give him 5 years... I think that's a big mistake. With the Sabres, should have let go of Regier immediately, hiring Lafontaine and Nolan was a joke. He went for good PR, not good quality. I think I like Murray, but the Winnipeg trade will likely turn out a loser, Lehner is still up in the air, and we really need to turn it on soon to have a legitimate playoff chance. It's too soon to say the Sabres on the right track for sustained success and the Bills have huge question marks with the HC and QB, not a good place for question marks.
  5. Part of me agrees with you, but we are still in last place, or just above Toronto. Kinda weak at defense, unsure of goalies... forwards starting to look better. I'm more optimistic about the Sabres than the Bills. I don't have faith in Rex, and if he does, it may set things back a bit. by your logic, every team is 'close' to the playoffs. Basically, we need to settle our QB situation, fill holes at WR, S and CB.... you forgot RT. So we have major holes to fill in order to maybe make the playoffs. I'm not too thrilled right now.
  6. not off to a good start with either franchise.
  7. Hunter wasn't on any team earlier this season. Goodwin could be valuable. I'm starting to wonder about Clay. He would play but after watching Kelce last night, he is nowhere near a top TE
  8. His positive's are really valuable, I know it's a big leap, but if he became a better passer, along with his tremendous running skills, he'd be awesome. I think that's why a lot of us are holding out hope. He's scored rushing TD's in 5 straight games! the problem is that the running skills should be a bonus, not his strength. I do think a lot of people wonder what he'd accomplish with both Watkins and Woods at 100%
  9. I think fans give the Pegula's too much credit as being great owners. Yes, they saved the team from moving, that's great. They haven't accomplished anything noteworthy on the field or the ice yet. Not sure how close they are to getting a playoff team for either franchise either.
  10. You forgot to use the 'sarcasm' font.
  11. What other choices are there?
  12. and in year 2 with 6 qb's on the roster, how do you evaluate them?
  13. do you trust the guy that gave rex a 5 year $25 million contract to know what to do?
  14. I'm sure that would have made a huge difference
  15. you've really always said that? How often do you discuss this?
  16. My father gave up his tickets for the Bills Raiders game in 1963 for my birth. Does that count?
  17. yes, but the key word is 'reasonable' Certainly you can have your own opinion, and you've made that very clear, over and over and over again. But to somehow link this to guaranteed contracts sounds pretty ridiculous. Players have been doing this for many years, even when the money wasn't as great as it is now. I remember, I think a tackle for the Titans missed a playoff game years ago, i'm sure his salary wasn't near what Clay's is.
  18. Travis Henry missed half a season for his children's deliveries. haha, thinking along the same lines.
  19. I apologize, I misread your original post and thought you were criticizing Clay for missing the game. Sorry
  20. Clay's career path is quite fortunate for him. He makes millions of dollars and has a strong union that will make it easy for him to attend the births of his children and not have his job at risk. He's got a great situation and takes advantage of the perks his profession provides. I bet most of us wish we had the same good fortune. I leave work to see a 15 minute silly school play or something like it. If you have children and don't understand how important those moments can be for parents and children alike, I feel sorry for you. It's actually a game for adults, very exceptional ones. What other professions do is irrelevant, he has this luxury, I don't blame him for using it. We're not making the playoffs anyway, come on.
  21. I'm sure he's from the party of 'family values', just as long as those values don't occur on Sunday.
  22. Isn't that sorta what a touch pass is? Hence the words 'touch pass' Maybe a full offseason with Anthony Lynn and a healthy WR corp will help.
  23. He's a modern day joe Ferguson. Great tools, not strong mentally on the field, head down a lot, makes critical mistakes at the worst time. Everytime I watch Cutler I think of Fergy. It's like he's his clone. To me, the similarities are striking.
