  1. I don't think either safety is 'playoff caliber' talent. I think Ragland needs to upgrade a linebacker and we lack depth at LB and safety. Nothing that can't be fixed, but not sure Rex is willing to use some basic defensive packages and get the most out of the players. We need impact players, hopefully Shaq becomes one and Hughes gets back to being one consistently.
  2. Probably, and not sure. I don't think that happens, if they keep Rex, i think you need to let him run it his way. If you change the defensive system, you get rid of Rex. and that may be the right move. But the defense needs to be addressed in the draft and free agency. Besides the coaching, the talent isn't there.
  3. It worked that won't happen. If Rex stays , his system stays. And we draft heavy on defense.
  4. I hope they don't , but some people would rather he play crappy than admit he's playing very well. We have enough issues on defense to deal with the offseason, no reason to add to it by not signing Gilmore.
  5. Regarding Tyrod- this game shows that if we do let him go this offseason, we better have a good QB ready to take his place. Cleveland has horrendous QB play and they are hopeless.
  6. I think it was his achilles, but you are correct. I'll never forget his first game, at the stadium. He was all over the field, knew he was something special right away.
  7. Not if we don't complete the passes. This is such a simplistic view of running offenses, fans have said this for years. What happens when we start running, will the defense all drop back into the secondary?
  8. Some black coaches are probably pretty good and earn their interviews. Unless all the owners/gm's are racist and need prodding.
  9. I'm not a cardinals expert, I still waste most of my time on the Bills, but he's been an a consistent, above average WR, high YPC which is likely a product of the offensive structure, but was injured in camp and had a case of the drops this season. And Carson Palmer blows. From what I've seen, he'd be a nice pickup , but don't expect him to come cheap.
  10. that's a fair assessment and it does seem that coordinators generally get the HC interviews, but he was interviewed last season so I'm assuming there is a reason for that above the coordinator requirement. He coached under and apparently is held in high regard by Parcels, that can't hurt.
  11. I don't think it's easy to be a first time coordinator starting in week 3. I think it's been a very smooth and productive transition. Our offense is good enough to win games, our defense blows. It seems to many people that the only reason black coaches get HC interviews is because of the rooney rule, unfortunately that may be true, but it also may be because he is a highly regarded candidate.
  12. This isn't about meddling. It's about having the roles clearly defined. To expect a GM to work with a coach that wasn't his choice and to have the coach report directly to the owner and not the gm doesn't seem to make any sense to me. He may be meddling if he is upsetting the normal structure of the football operations.
  13. Using Jeff George as an example to take a chance on a QB can't be a good thing. I understand the issues with Taylor, and maybe because it's easier to focus on one player as opposed to a whole unit, but the main reason we are not in the playoffs is because of the poor performance of our defense. Our offense has scored enough to win a few games that we lost, and if healthier the whole season, would likely have been even better. This offense has enough talent when healthy to get in the playoffs, if complimented by a good defense.
  14. How about this from all the Sabres and Bills fans out there - "All we need is a rich owner willing to spend money and we'll be fine!"
  15. this pretty much sums the whole thing up.
  16. does that fact that he misses lot's of kicks concern you at all?
  17. Which trainers would you like to hire to replace ours? Do you have any in mind? Let's find the best trainers and pay them whatever they want, don't be cheap Pegula!
  18. are you one of those 'facts' people? because Walsh had such a great season? starting with the missed chip shot in the playoffs last year?
  19. You have continuity by firing your coaching staff? And why would you want continuity? Nothing against Lynn, but as others have stated, a new HC will bring in his own staff, but with the Pegula's, you never know. He hired a coach before a GM with the Sabres and it appears he hired Rex when the GM should have.
  20. where do you here all this stuff? anywhere credible?
  21. Give credit however you wish, but 2 years ago we had a championship quality defense and special teams. The next season we loaded up on offensive talent. I think the GM built a strong team and Rex tore it down.
  22. I think with any respectable DC, both Darby and Gilmore would make a elite CB duo. Fire the coach, keep the good players.
  23. Are you saying the 2014 defense wasn't good?
