  1. that was too easy. I don't think you mean it.
  2. unpossible that was no heart attack
  3. every one has to say Rooney rule - maybe , just maybe, some black coaches have the skills to succeed at being a HC . If all you can come up with is rooney rule, best to stay silent. And last season, Miami interviewed more than 1 black coach, including Lynn. Rooney rules doesn't require more than 1 minority candidate.
  4. so why are you even wasting time on this site?
  5. I can't think of any and I don't want to move too far off topic, but instead, I can probably list dozens that made the 'single step' unsuccessfully. If Lynn had only been an assistant coach a few years, I'd be more worried. Also, I don't believe success as coordinator is a factor in determining success as a head coach. HC requires a different set of skills that a OC/DC may have.
  6. In hindsight, yeah. But coming off such a strong year, it would have been nearly impossible to justify going with one the other QB's on the roster. They were looking short term, playoffs this season. They also had a defense that went from very strong to pretty bad too. Overall, a crappy season for the Jets, I guess. They were doomed.
  7. Even if he shows something today, and even if the Bills see progress I can't see him staying here. There are other teams out there that need QB's and he will likely have offers and welcome a fresh start. I like EJ and recall his good games against the Pats, Panthers..., maybe others? But I think it's over. Nothing that happens in today's game should really have any impact on the offseason for any player.
  8. was it really even necessary to comment on a 91 year old as a possible head coaching hire? And take all the best players off any team and they will likely not win as much as before. Come on!
  9. Fitz was coming off a very strong year and the Jets won 10 games. They were stuck. There probably weren't better alternatives, especially considering the season Fitz and the Jets had last season.
  10. I don't buy that one.
  11. That's a valid question. How bad is Jones that he can't even start a meaningless end of season game?
  12. I sometimes have ridiculously crazy thoughts running through my mind. I make sure to never put them online.
  13. Maybe he can get Ryan Nassib? I'm sure Gilbride would love to come out of retirement to coach in Buffalo.
  14. I love Fred, but he was a very gifted player in my mind. He always excelled. It's just that he didn't fit the mold as far as recruiting goes. Never played a down in the NFL that didn't show he deserved to play. Full playing career- he's a all time great.
  15. PR value doesn't help the team improve. I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good coach, but being a great player doesn't translate to coaching. See ' Ed Reed'
  16. I honestly see no purpose to nearly every sports reporter out there. I like listening/reading Peter King occasionally, I think he's credible. Not sure if I can think of anyone else. Postgame interviews offer nothing of value.
  17. Tell the reporters they are full of it and no idea what they are writing about?
  18. this is after Carucci wrote that TT is in exit mode strategy
  19. Not saying these teams would pay, but i think we have a better QB situation with TT than these teams do. Jets, Browns, Jax, Denver, Vikings, Bears, Rams, SF, Houston, and maybe AZ- Palmer will be done either this year or next, Chargers- Rivers still valuable, but had a horrible run down the stretch.
  20. Not that there is ever a good time to listen to the media, now is certainly not a good time. We should just sit back and wait.
  21. I'm not sold on the Pegula's getting this right, but in what you listed I only see 2 mistakes, albeit big ones. Hiring Lafontaine - no qualifications other than being a fan favorite, Hiring Rex, got caught up in Rex's sales pitch and likely didn't heed the advice of this football department(Whaley). Everything else is petty stuff.
  22. nitpicking - 2 coaches voluntarily left a head coaching job for the Bills. I can't recall this happening in other cities. Just sayin
  23. I don't agree that it will be hard to hire a competent coach, but both Marrone and Mularkey turned down a HC job in Buffalo. Not saying it's Pegula's fault, but it has happened.
  24. i recognize Taylor's shortcomings like everyone else does, but as has been said many times, offense isn't our problem. I don't get the hate for TT. Especially with no obvious better replacement on the roster or as far as we know , readily available. 3 more years.
