  1. I agree. This one makes no sense. Maybe one of the best of all time.
  2. Not to start a major argument with you, but don't you see how the Kaep situation is more than just football. Why do people get so bent out of shape when a conversation moves in different directions? This is how normal people talk to each other. To start a Kaepernick thread as expect it not to move even slightly off the football field is pretty naive.
  3. Money is the be all end all ,isn't it? He doesn't seem to be obsessed with money or else he wouldn't donate a million dollars to causes he believes in. Perhaps everyone should just answer yes or no to the original post and add nothing else to it, since the OP just asked a yes or no question.
  4. I see posts talking about the first amendment - that's not football. No comments to those people ? Because you agree with them?
  5. that's right. Pro American people would never exercise their first amendment rights if it might offend some PC snowflakes..
  6. thanks rodney, sorry you can't see the connection
  7. Looks like the city of baltimore should be.
  8. Kaep has said this isn't about him being oppressed, but you should just ignore the facts that don't fit your narrative.
  9. You think ABC/ESPN are the only ones reporting on Kaepernick? Every network wants ratings.
  10. no you don't, because there is a chance you lose all you money before you have a chance to start a winning streak. I've seen too many games in where the coach goes for 2 at the 'not according to the book' and really put the team behind the 8 ball. I think it's unwise to gamble on the game when it's not necessary.
  11. Sometimes 'that's what's always been done' , is because it's a good idea. I'm not against going for 2 or going for it on 4th, but it's not always a bad idea to not go for it. Like coaches always say - sometimes punting is the best call. It's a good discussion, but each decision is really based on that situation at the exact moment.
  12. Re: 2 point conversion - you need to look at game situations before you can make an analysis like yours. Simple example is you score 3 TD's a game, if you have a 50% success rate, in one game it works out, next game it doesn't. This isn't a decision that can be based on season long stats, it's the game situation that effects most of the decision on whether to go for 2 or not. Going for 4th and short is also a decision with a huge impact on a game and not to be taken lightly. Obviously, field position plays a big role in the decision, but you can't ignore the momentum swing if you are stopped, sometimes it's best to be conservative. The skill level of your team has a huge impact on the decision as well. If I were Belicheck, I would go for it much more often.
  13. They don't? I think most coaches use good judgement on 4th and short.
  14. More than that, it's also about filling in for a few drives or a 4th qtr of a game.
  15. I moved away in 1999, so my opinion is based on 1970-99. The first Houston playoff game 1988 , 17-10 victory was by far the loudest up til that date. I don't recall any other game matching that volume from start to finish since then. I think having the first home playoff game since the merger was the main factor.
  16. He mis-dialed- give him a break.
  17. No I haven't, but then again, I'm 53 years old and not a football player. Are you a medical doctor? You know the percentage of recovery? Are you a psychiatrist? you know that he will be 60% mentally recovered? I've seen many players come back from injuries and not miss a beat. Neither one of will know until he plays, but not sure where you pull those numbers from.
  18. it's not torn anymore. He had surgery last year to repair it. It's ok now.
  19. I was basing the 3 yards on what Tolbert actually did, not the cliche. Better than your made up facts. I will give you tremendous credit for admitting you were totally incorrect in how Tolbert had been used by Carolina and how productive he was as a RB v FB. He was barely used in the capacity that you hope to see him used here. I think you are more focused on his time as a charger, which were his glory days. Still, I hope YOU'RE correct in that he will be effective for us. But seriously, I was impressed that you put a link to his split stats that showed that you were wrong, a lot a people wouldn't do that.
  20. yeah, you have us on the facts on how versatile tolbert will be, based on a quote from his coach in 2014. I was just trying to have a little fun here, sorry if you were offended. But in keeping with the facts, after Rivera said how valuable he would be, he ran for a whopping 2.1 ypc and 0 TD's, along with 0 TD's as a receiver out of the backfield, didn't fare much better the following 2 seasons. Please enjoy your tenure as president of the mike tolbert fan club.
  21. I'm in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
  22. you need to get out more.
  23. I hope your right.
