He can complete quick short passes. He can't throw it downfield with any kind of consistency though. Really hard to win that way.

They don't even try to throw much downfield.  Maybe the cover 2 is taking away Hill and Waddle,  but they need to try.

I don't think McDaniels is doing a good job coaching.

They know Lake Effect snow and 20 mph winds too. 22 degrees at gametime for a California team coming east.

SF gets pretty cold at night during winter,  maybe not 22, but I doubt they'll just fold in the cold.

These guys play with injuries that would destroy most of us,  the child won't be the deciding factor.  We're just a better team,  and missing Purdy and Williams would be huge.

    General observations:

    • I don't understand all the Caleb hate. I have no idea about his past or his personality but his talent jumps off the screen. He easily could become the best QB in what already appears to be a historically great QB draft.
    • Detroit's two highest quality wins this year were at the Vikings by 2 points and at the Packers by 10 points.
    • They have not yet played the current NFL elite of KC, Buffalo, Philly, Baltimore... unless you count Green Bay and Minnesota as elite.
    • Their other wins against teams with winning records are Seattle, Arizona, and Houston.
    • They have had very little pass rush on the Bears today.

IMO, the Lions get too much credit on these pages. They are an excellent team but still have a skimpy track record.

He wore nail polish, he was emotional after games last season...people looking for reasons to dislike him.

I hope he has a great career. He's extremely talented.

Let me offer a counter argument.  While this is a very important game for SF it is the least important of their remaining games as it is out conference and out of division.  And given the expected cold temps on Sunday night there is a reason to believe they would hold Purdy out to let him heal more completely.

I doubt they hold him out because it might be around 30 degrees.

They'll hold him out if he's not healthy enough to play well.

I wasn't there, but a bunch of us were at my buddy's place watching the game, thinking, is anyone going to make a defensive stop here?......i mean, the game couldn't possibly go back and forth with no punts?........it did and when anyone mentions the Bills top games, i bring up this one.

    The Shootout at Candlestick.........good times.

Our joke was... watch out for those 50 yard crossing patterns .

Even Metzelaars had a big run after catch.

Are the dolphins pretty good, I guess

Do they have nice skill players, sure

Is tua a good QB, sure

Can anything happen any given Sunday, yes...

Are the dolphins worthy of respect? No. They haven't earned it

This is viewing a hated rival through buffalo glasses.

'Nice' skill players.  They have exceptional skill players, even with Hill hurting

Tua is playing very well and getting better each week.

Only a biased fan would say they're not worthy of respect.

Thursday will day a lot about them,  if Green Bay handles them,  then you may be right in your assessment. But they are a challenge because of their offense.

Really?  You are one of the few I’ve seen that feels Von was worth it.  As for Cooper, he has to want to be here as well, and I suspect he will prefer a warm weather team for his next and maybe last big contract.

The issue with Von was a torn ACL. When 100%, he was dominant.

Transition was the right word.  The words that were being thrown around in the media, however, were “rebuilding” and “taking a step back.”  The national media, who don’t know any better, and some of the local media and fans, who should know better, simply saw “names” leaving the roster (Diggs, Morse, Hyde, Poyer, Davis, White) and didn’t see that it was the appropriate time for those guys to go and make room for the next phase.

Were there legitimate concerns about the WR room?  Yes!  Thankfully it appears that Shakir was indeed ready to step up, Coleman has been a pleasant surprise…and Beane recognized the issue and made a key move to acquire Cooper.  Hollins has been better than anyone expected.

This is fun ride, and I’m here for all of it.

I agree with what you're saying,  but would you have been surprised if Coleman needed a year to develop,  all the other draft choices? After the first few games, did anyone think that Hamlin would improve so much?

It's pretty remarkable what they've done so far,  and I don't think it was wrong to predict a possible step back.

I'm still pretty stunned. It's a tremendous coaching accomplishment,  and I think it really started with our winning streak to win the division last season.  The team came together and the coaching took a big leap.

Great organizations can pull off things like this.

Fun to watch.  Can't wait for SF and beyond

Please stop the overhyping. we are a team in transition . We probably won’t even make the playoffs

You know it was Beane that said we are a team in transition.

I expected a more difficult transition,  felt we had to hit on so many draft picks, new vets and position changes. And we have.

It's really a tremendous credit to the entire organization.

The thing with Legette (and I liked him a lot) is that he's already 24 so how long of a career can be really have? I think McConkey will be very productive but I'm definitely liking Coleman's presence is late season and playoff games where holding is never called, assuming he learns to make his size work for him.

10 years? That's a long time to play in the NFL

I have trouble leaning into the validity of these numbers. Aside from how difficult it is to actually know the true coverage on a play, how is the data being accumulated? Does anyone know this sources (Trumedia) process for classifying coverages?

Its a cool chart and an interesting thing to discuss, but I wonder how accurate they numbers are.

Is it really that difficult to tell if it's man or zone coverage?  I've never thought that.

football should be played at 1:00 et on the east coast, night games suck

Every game ? Games should have staggered times throughout the day.

It's dumb to have so many games on at the same time.  We miss so much action every Sunday.
