  1. this is the 'cutting off your nose to spite your face' - it clearly made our team worse during a critical playoff push. They had no intention of keeping Dareus from day 1, which means to me that there was no effort to 'get him on board'. Might work out in the long run, but it hurts us real bad now. Our season is likely over now.
  2. But now this season is a waste... again.
  3. Gotta wonder if Ragland could have helped the run defense as well.
  4. Sometimes game plans work, sometimes they don't. Turnovers, missed opportunities, bad matchups....all goes into each game. I think we are a well coached team, what usually wins out in the end is talent. We'll see what kind of talent we have as we go forward. I'm not worried about teams learning our 'schemes' . There aren't really any surprises in the games, it's execution.
  5. i'm guessing if your hometown team is riding a 17 year non playoff streak, you may look elsewhere.
  6. Tolbert?? Why?
  7. The reason we cant get the run game going is because those teams put enough players at the line of scrimmage to take the run away. They were willing to allow 1 on 1 on the outside and very little players in coverage because they know the QB WONT hurt them. It is day 1 stuff. The defenses that make Tyrod try and beat them, shut us down. Teams like the Raiders or Bucs dont have the ability to stop the run. So even if they tried it didnt matter. The Jets learned from week 1 and were not going to let Shady beat them again. Tyrod had one of best games statistically against the Jets. A couple of fumbles by 2 receivers certainly had a negative impact. It would be one thing to hang this on Taylor if he had a bad game, but he didn't. Pretty much everyone else on the offense did. But you seem to have missed that. Leaving Taylor out of the equation- how did the offense perform?
  8. Is it really a 'dilemma' or just next years cap situation, which every team deals with every season?
  9. We can't give up too much. We will have a lot of holes to fill next season. A couple Oline positions, DT, LB, probably another CB and RB. Can't trade all those picks , we need starters to come from the high choices we have.
  10. could you expand on this? What did they do wrong? My issue with the last drive was kelly running the ball a couple times, that hurt us. Other than that, can't think of anything else.
  11. Do you carry a cheat sheat with all the football cliches? He should be a blue collar type, plays bigger than his size, with non stop motor, good in the locker room, buffalo kind of guy, right?
  12. Where would you be without cliches?
  13. On a football field?
  14. Great! Thanks for clearing that up.
  15. I hear this all the time. Don't get the big appeal of this. Tolbert is a change of pace from McCoy- why is change of pace a good thing? How about more of the same, just a different guy to give McCoy a rest.
  16. Didn't miss him last week. We missed him yesterday. Not every game is the same.
  17. isn't he gonna be 35 next season. I wouldn't count on him anymore. He's only had 1 good season rushing the passer.
  18. Plug him in. Next pick up!
  19. yep, and we have no real pass rush threat other than Hughes, and he's not that effective.
  20. Change of pace means nothing. Tolbert is a change of pace, fat and slow. Another back that is as effective as McCoy usually is would work better. A change of pace from Shady is a slow RB.
  21. Pass rush hasn't really been here most of the season. Why this team though Lorax could duplicate the one fluke season of his career was beyond me. Hughes just seems to use the same move each rush. It rarely works and he has no help.
  22. This isn't true. He was a great runner/receiver early in his career. He hasn't been an effective short yardage back for a number of years. He should not be on this team.
  23. I don't want to spend to much time on tolbert, but I checked his situational stats when we signed him. He was horrible in short yardage, thought that to be a bit of a surprise.
