  1. In this scenario; you are comparing Woods FIVE years at 8 million, while Benjamin is only signed for ONE (next year). If he makes it thru 2018 and meets expectations...The Bills will have a decision to make. Maybe they take a chance and renegotiate before he hits free agency.
  2. The Bills signed him when nobody else would. He left them to be a 'social activist". Are we sure he really wants to play again? O.P., at what point should the Bills have to freely give up his rights? After 2 weeks? A month? an entire season? I am sure all parties are abiding by the terms of the contract, arent they?
  3. Baby was not due until April, 2018? I have not seen a news report about thjs yet
  4. Signing Cousins might not be possible...Bills dont have the best cap situation...who would you cut to make room for him? How would that affect the team, dead cap and otherwise? i think the plan is to draft well; 6 guys or so that can continue next year. There are several older or injured players to replace soon: Kyle, Lorenzo, Wood, Incognito, maybe Clay?
  5. Not sure how you came up with: " that's 4 picks!". They traded two picks for...two picks. Is that what you are saying? Didn't they trade pick #44 and #91 for #37 and #149? e often hear about how a team gives up too many picks, ignoring the fact they are 'swapping" first round picks.
  6. Not a good comparison. While Moulds only had like 50 total catches his first two years, he was also the Bills primary kick returner and returned one or two for TD's. He also carried the ball number of times on reverses. In Moulds' rookie year, he probably had 80 "touches". Jones will be nowhere near that kind of contribution this season.
  7. Humber could be back week 7? Bills seem happy with the LB's they have. I do think they are more likely to sign a free agent than give up a draft pick. I hope they are looking for receivers...
  8. I dont see the Bills letting go of those draft picks, but they might be willing to trade someone like Washington or Ducasse, or Miller...a PS promotion or free agent signing is possible (Barnidge?) but can the Bills acclimate a new receiver in one week?
  9. If the Bills have the cap room to pay 1 or 2 veteran free agents (i;.e Jackson, Barnidge) I'm listening. I think they could pick up the offense in the next week or so. But TRADING for a high-priced player, then having to cut players to afford him, is counter-productive.
  10. i think any moves will be possibly a free agent (Barnidge?), or PS promotion, They have several injured players on the active roster which limits their ability to add players. As for Hilton? I think he is signed thru 2020, this year's salary is 8-10 million with a large dead cap figure for the Colts. I don't see the Bills trading for him; they would have to give up several of those precious draft picks and cut plyers to afford him.
  11. FYI: "take a powder' actually means "run away from", so, yeah. As to firing Rico, and Castillo? The bye week would be the time to do it, but can you promote from within to maintain some consistency? While they may have a bad (and injured) group of receivers, the coaches are responsible for making it work. Apparently, they aren't magicians. I dont expect them to trade draft choices, they have about $8 million cap available, and are constrained by the number of injured players on the active roster. Two TE's (Thomas and Lee) haven' done anything, and Bills are thin at WR. Wonder if they would talk to Barnidge and a free agent WR. Promoting Reilly would be popular but what can he realistically do?
  12. Bills have a reasonably-priced option on Taylor for 2018 if they choose to keep him? Hell, draft a QB to develop and compete with Peterman. Draft another in 2019 if those 2 work out and Taylor is let go.
  13. Before the season started, I said I would be happy to have a better record than last year, 8-8 possible, but not sure 9-7 was. I am starting to "trust the process" and see weekly tweaks and improvements. My concern is depth and injuries. Would like to see the Bills trade one or two of those many draft choices. Don't t think they can improve much via free agency or promotions from practice squad.
  14. For what it's worth, the Bills lead this series (16-14) and are about even AT Cinncinati. But this is a different team..those past results dont mean much. Would love for the Bills to win every AFC game.
  15. Guys, the cap hit would be horrible if they trade him. All that bonus money escalates. Would it mean that money moves up to THIS year's cap ? Would it require the Bills to cut another player or two?
  16. depends on the nature of the injury. if short-term, it would likely be a mix of Banyard,Tolbert and Jones. I dont see the Bills trading for someone like Peterson unless its a long term, season ending injury. I dont think AP would be thrilled about getting benched when McCoy returns from this hypothetical injury.
  17. Perhaps they are thinking of cutting him when Matthews returns. if they had promoted Reilly, they would have to make room on the roster for Matthews, and risk losing Reilly. Brown will pick up the offense quicker than anyone else they can acquire via trade or free agency
  18. How do we know Barnidge would even come here? Bills wont cut Logan Thomas, but I dont think Lee is doing anything for them. I did note that when asked about Boldin today, McDermott just said that might be one of the things he discussed with Beane. Probably have enough money to sign him and a replacement for Anderson
  19. I am not well-versed in blocking schemes but have to wonder how long Mcdermott will endure this. Taylor, or McCoy , could get killed back there. Would more 'shot gun" help? Longer drops?
  20. So what if we DID have Hogan and Gillislee? We DONT have Belichick and Brady. I think the McDermott/Taylor combo has potential, if they stick around...but, we cant assume Hogan and Gillislee would accomplish the same thing here in Buffalo. Was there any domino effect (think trades, draft and cap)? If we kept those two guys who would we NOT currently have? Personnel moves dont happen in a vacuum
  21. They consider him primarily a blocker and he has made a few catches. But, didnt he drop one earlier in the game?
  22. I think 9-7 is possible. To do any better than that the Bills have to continue to make progress with their offense (getting more out of Zay Jones and McCoy), and he incredibly lucky regarding injuries. Perhaps a lucky break or two, or a huge play. They dont seem to have the depth to overcome an injury to a key player. A mid-season trade doesn't seem to be on their agenda but could be significant step, even if a short-term (and inexpensive) rental.
  23. Assuming KC would even consider this...Dareus AND a 2nd? Way too much. A DT in his prime for a 34 year old QB? Pus, the cap considerations ? Switching QB's during the season?
  24. OMG! a 17 -year playoff drought and THIS is what bothers you? That's his style; I don't know how much it affects the outcome, but clapping won't hurt anybody. Do you like his hairdo ? His shoes?
  25. Not sure how you arrived at an overall grade of "D". Using YOUR scale, more like a C+
