  1. Obviously, since free agency comes first , this exercise is nearly futile, no matter how much fun it might be.
  2. You're cutting McKenzie to keep Beasley? Don't assume Bills won't consider bringing Crowder back. Dane Jackson is RFA and they could keep him. Spencer Brown was banged up early and I wonder of he takes a step this year. A second TE might help this offense. And no thanks to OBJ. I'd rather add a young, healthy WR in the draft or free agency.
  3. No,too many other needs. Allen and Diggs will have a lot to say about that first pick ( depending on how free agency works out). IF Edmunds leaves,I would consider adding an OLB with pass rush ability.
  4. But, experience matters on Special Teams just as it does on Offense and Defense. I admit I don't spend time analyzing ST stats; but I have questioned whether the investment in the likes of Hines, Neal and Matekevoch is worth it. They rarely play O and D but in case of an injury emergency, in a critical situation, I would prefer those veterans over unproven rookies.
  5. You will still be paying NFL minimum to the replacements, from about 705k to 1.2 million each. With the example I gave you might save 3 to 4 million if you replaced Neal,Jones and Matakevich with lowest-paid players. So, probably not 6 to 10 million saved and I dont know who the 4th player is you want to replace on ST.
  6. Jones ,Neal and Matekevich total cap hit was about 6.2 million last season. They are now all free agents so let's see what happens if Beane has to replace them all with rookies. They do have some value as "position" players because of their experience.
  7. He has played ONE full season
  8. You obviously are referring to COVERAGE guys, but, Hines and Bass can't do it all by themselves. Smiley coached ST into a top unit,so,maybe he can get by with rookies replacing Jones, Matakevich, etc. But look at their cap hits; is there really that much to be saved?
  9. You're dreaming if you assume they would get "5 or 6 starters" ,certainly not IMMEDIATE starters. But,sure, plug a lot of day 2 picks in there, consider them nominally, starters. The odds of making a roster drop significantly for day 2 and day 3 picks. Bills need immediate impact players. And,if you say Beane fails in the early rounds, why do you think he can draft well LATER? He either can draft ,or he cant. This year's draft might be especially critical in light of Buffalo's cap situation. I might consider a move down in the 1st,and don't forget the possibility of trading picks for veterans. That would ensure some value for a pick.
  10. Good point. If anything, maybe a trade-down for extra pick (s)
  11. You don't take on the pro rated signing bonuses
  12. I dont know that they have even discussed $$$ yet. Bills have to clear cap space first.
  13. In this passing league, keep them all. Why waste the time you already invested in them for acclimating to your scheme? Maintain continuity. Benford might very well move to safety and CB depth is important. You wont recoup your draft investment, anyway.
  14. You want a 33 year old running back? I don't I also don't want a long term commitment to a WR that has been hurt and didn't play this year. I'm not thrilled about adding Murray and OBJ.
  15. McKenzie has a relatively small cap hit. If you cut him, you're going to have to replace him, so why bother?
  16. Free agency comes before the draft...but a "WR1b" will cost a ton so it might be best to draft one and take advantage of the rookie contract.
  17. You take this conversation, out-of context, from an interview conducted by...who? Have you looked at the dead cap money on Stef's contract? I don't think he is trade-able unless some GM starts smoking the same stuff as you. Then,of course, you would have to find another WR to bring the same chemistry and production. Good luck with that! Just trade Diggs for the sake of some silly bromance? Like I always say; you can't force a team to trade with you, anyway. But, hey,if you're drooling for a family reunion, why not bring little bro to Buffalo? That probably has as much chance.
  18. White, Jackson,Johnson, Elam,Benford.. and you draft 2 more CBS? But not a S,RB,LB/Edge? I would take a WR earlier. And you can't assume teams will trade with you, especially a 2nd for Morse?
  19. This is ridiculous and won't happen because Bills have other needs. You could get value at LB,TE,S,or RB for example with those later picks but no guarantees those 4th and 6rh round OL picks amount to anything special Numerous teams manage to "gel" their offensive line without going crazy overboard in ONE draft. And how do you trade Saffold? He is a free agent. This lacks credibility.
  20. OMG why is this unfounded drivel tolerated?
  21. His salary is closer to 10,which the Bills would have to pay, but they wouldn't have to pay the bonus money which is 3 or 4 million this year. That's the Vikes responsibility. Doesn't matter how warm & fuzzy it would make Cook feel. He won't take a significant cut to play with his brother in Buffalo. Why should he? Bills wouldn't need BOTH Cooks anyway.
  22. Are you freaking serious? His base salary is like 10 to 12 million for 3 more years? Bills will not pay that and the " Cook & Cook" idea is ridiculous. Bills will possibly lose Singletary and might even have to cut Hines.
  23. OMG. Too much time on your hands. Good thing you aren't a professional writer, trying to get his work published. C'mon...edit!
  24. It would more effective to stick to one topic per post. These novellas tend to be self-indulgent and lacking in coverage and inspiration of any one thought. Try writing about one topic at a time, and make it intriguing.
