  1. I'm not so sure about that. The offense definitely got very conservative after we went up 24-0. Its quite possible, they figured lets just count on the D and hang on playing a pretty basic offense, so they don't give any more away than they had to, to our next opponent. At least, that's what I'm hoping, because it got real conservative, real quick.
  2. This just proves some people are not happy unless they're complaining,
  3. Maybe it was Rambo, but AW and Nigel both ended up standing there holding hands while dude scored easily. Either way, I really hope, they figure out how to cover that because it's coming plenty.
  4. The 2 WRs crossing, in a natural pick type pattern, that the Colts scored the first TD on left the WR wide open in the end zone. The next team we face uses that formation more than anyone. I sure hope Rex figures out how to stop that route.
  5. Go BILLS!!!!!!!!!
  6. When a college team cheats, they actually get a fitting punishment.
  7. It seems to me, you absolutely have to jam their receivers at the line. Their entire passing offense relies on timing and pick routes. They've mastered the pick route! That's why so many guys seem wide open. Disrupt their picks, make that cheater hestitate and you have a chance.
  8. I think many of the pundits have the same concerns that I have, essentially it boils down to show me the baby. We have a new coaching staff, new systems, and new players across the board on offense. Additionally, most all of them have missed almost the entire preseason. So, there's little to no evidence that any of it can come together in the first half of the season, let alone game 1, and make for a winning record. Now, as a Bills fan, I'm eternally optimistic and trash talking more than ever with my Dolphin friend. But, realistically, not many teams historically have put this many new pieces together and had them gel into winning games immediately. Can our Bills do it? Absolutely! Will they? We'll know come November.
  9. Good point... I do feel better. At least he cares.
  10. Exactly... They still have to execute. Plus, the opposing team still has players that are pretty good too. So, they don't win every game; they don't know every single opposing play; they don't have a guaranteed win. And that's precisely why you get the morons that claim it's not that big of a deal. Because it didn't help this time or that time. But what so many people tend to forget is ...cheating is cheating. They have taken extensive measures to gain an unfair advantage by bending and violating the rules. The fact that players are suspended for acts completely unrelated to the play on the field and Brady isn't suspended for cheating in the game itself is a slap in the face to every fan of the game, past and present. Belicheck should get a life time ban and the team barred from the playoffs for a decade. Instead they're celebrated as a champion... Its sickening.
  11. I've stopped watching NFL network because of this. it's as though half the league doesn't even exist.
  12. Exactly as I see it. Cheat and do whatever you want to win. If the league catches you... Just throw out the evidence, refuse your drug test, don't cooperate, whatever it takes. No evidence, no punishment. Just wow.
  13. This is the first decision since the Pegulas took over that I fully think was the wrong decision. Fred is the heart and soul of this team. To be so close to the cusp of a Playoff run type season, and think he will miss it after all his years and effort, is a shame. Yeah he's old and whatever.. But he's easily the 3rd, if not 2nd, best back on the team. It just makes no sense at all to me. He's the most loved player on the team and he's cut. Reminds me of when the cut Thurman, Bruce, and Andre. Just disheartening
  14. My brain can't possibly compute all the potential player moves that may or may not have happened; but in general terms, had Marrone stayed, this team would stuck in mediocrity. Chances are pretty good he looses the locker room by mid-season and finishes the season as a lame duck coach. In essence, we would have lost a full year of football. Of that, I have zero doubt.
  15. FWIW, i'll provide independent verification that he did infact post that back during the draft. I think it was in one of the draft threads after we drafted some dude. And no, kirby has not paid me in any way to say that.
  16. I wondered about that watching the game. It seemed to be a lot of blitzing, especially for a preseason game.
  17. Watching the game, that's what I said to my sister. 4th and 4, needs a touchdown, one pass for the game and most likely his career in Buffalo. No worries, EJ. That's about as high pressured as it gets in preseason and all he did was zip the ball into tight coverage twice and win the game. Pretty impressive.
  18. Having not seen much of Tyrod till tonight's game, I can see why he's getting the hype. He looks like a starter... Decisive with the ball (other than that one sack), fast, had the offense moving with a good rhythm. EJ, as much as I really want him to succeed, he looks tentative, hesitant almost. The offense seems to stagnate with him, then he pulls out a brilliant series of plays and gets in the end zone, twice. Granted, he had crap for an Oline and blitz pickup and the play calling seemed to go ultra vanilla. But, it's really hard to see him starting over Tyrod based on tonight's game. One thing I do like is Rex Ryan. First, I like that Cassel didn't play tonight. Everyone in the free world knows what he brings to the table and borrowing something completely unforeseen, he's on the team. But, he really needs to see what Tyrod and EJ can do. So, he maximized their playing time. I liked that. Secondly, 50 seconds in the game and the Jawbreaker gives up a 1st down on 4th and 4 with an offsides, and Rex was hot on the side line! It's nice to see a coach actually wanting to win, even in preseason.
  19. That what so many people just don't get. ALL QBs are inconsistent when they start their careers. ALL have good games, bad games, ints, etc. The only way to work through that is with playing time and having the confidence of the team behind you. EJ hasn't been as good as some, but he's also been better than some other guys. What he really needs is playing time to know if he's the guy. What I don't know is do the Tannenhill's of the league have an intangible quality, a certain grasp of the playbook, or some such thing to warrant a team giving them those few years and EJ doesn't? The one thing I do know is Tyrod, if he starts, will struggle too this year. He just doesn't have enough time to be a consistent QB yet. Will the team and the fans give him that time and allow him to work through the struggles? I certainly hope so. But, i doubt it.
  20. Thanks. That's how this is looking to me. Tyrod seems to have impressed them and is being given a real shot, not just a lip service QB competition, to see if he can build on last week and take command of the offense. I'd say the ball is literally in his hands to take the job.
  21. I certainly don't have to tell you this.. .but fug em. Usually the people screaming about agendas are the very people with an agenda. Oh well. If I may be so bold, though, as to ask you to speculate. And I only ask because you've been to all the practices and spoken to all the interested parties, unlike myself or anyone else lurking about here. But, have you witnessed any sort of "intangible" that could be factoring into Rex's decision? Is it a leadership thing? Do the players just respond/act differently with the other QBs? Or is it strictly just he doesn't look as consistent/confident out there? From outward appearances, it seems to me that all 3 have had their ups and downs, goods and bads. So, it's hard to say who is clearly separating, or falling back. Just looking for added insight is all.
  22. I agree. And I think part of that maturing is... Seeing the writing on the wall. EJ had to think it was a race between him and Cassel a month ago. Now.... He's playing exclusively with the 3s. That pretty much says it all. Certainly when you add his answer to the questions, it looks as though EJ, himself, is even seeing that he's all but lost this race. For me, I'll hold off speculation until after this upcoming game. Perhaps Rex really is just giving everyone a clear shot to compete. This is Taylor's week to shine. Next week is EJs. I don't really know. But after the Browns game, if EJ isn't back practicing with the 1s, then the QB competition is essentially over. I agree as well. We're just fans. I say we, because I'm one of them. I want EJ to be the starter because he's been the Bill the longest and therefore, I support him the most. However, myself and I would hope everyone, will be 100% behind whomever is the starter week 1 even if its Simms. Granted, at this point, I'll be unsure about any of the QBs. Because lets face it, none of them have shown to be consistent winners in the NFL.
  23. How in the world you keep track of the entire twitter world, I'll never know! But, I'm glad you do. Thanks for all the updates!
  24. Not even in the same ball park. One is a premeditated act involving multiple people that occurred over multiple games, if not multiple years in an effort to deliberately circumvent league rules for the sole purpose of gaining an unfair advantage. The other was a one time in-game infraction against the rules, akin to a deliberate face mask penalty or Deacon Jones head slap. One is cheating, one is a dirty player.
  25. That's the issue for me, as well. I've repeatedly read how weak the NFL's case is because there was no smoking gun. But, it's akin to the police finding a gun in a suspected murderers house, and not being able to run ballistics on it because he routinely destroys all his firearms when people ask to see them. The NFL doesn't have the evidence they needed to prove the case because Brady and the team refused to cooperate fully. So now they get to come back and say... Where's your evidence against us? Brady destroyed it the day the league asked for it. The team refused to allow the 2 key witnesses to do follow up interviews, then fired them (almost assuredly with non disclosure clauses). IMO, that's why this whole thing has become one of the most ridiculous things ever. Brady had his cake and got to eat it (he cheated and it helped him get to a Super Bowl), and now when people are saying you already had your cake, he's saying.. No I didn't. Prove it. Where's my old cake?
