NFC Championship: Arizona at Carolina

I keep seeing this.... Why is Cam such an ass? What am I missing? -
What will get you excited for next season?
Dan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point, with no significant changes to the FO or coaching staff, nothing really. I see more of the same. So we cut a few defensive players that didn't fit Rex's system and replace them with new ones? The new guys still have to learn a new, complex, rexy D. So then next year we get to hear about how it's gonna take time for all these new players to gel. Unless the offense matures and puts up 30+ points per game, we end up losing games because the defense can't stop anyone. Also let's not forget about the special teams, either. Not to mention, does anyone really think Rex is suddenly going to coach a disciplined team and pay attention to the details in game prepation and management? I certainly don't. The margin between winning and losing in the NFL is smaller than its ever been.... And Rex is still coaching like it's 2000. Unfortunately, I see more mediocrity from our team, no Sunday ticket for me, and football becoming less and less something worth keeping up with. 16 years and counting is becoming enough to break this fan's give a damn. -
Who thinks the team will play hard tomorrow?
Dan replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't confuse effort with results. Their time to play hard and show what they're all made of is long gone in this season. But, I guess it'll be a great moral victory to see our guys playing hard to try and save their job for next season, when they can slack off again when it really counts. -
AP Report: Bills Will Release Mario After the Season
Dan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But isn't it on the coaching staff to put him in a position to play up to his abilities? What if he'sbeing asked to cover TEs out of the backfield, or to set the edge and not rush the passer? Is that what he's best at? So, sure, people say he should be getting constant pressure on the snaps he's asked to rush the passer? But that's putting your players in a position to fail. No one gets pressure on every single snap. Especially, when he's gassed because of the lack of substitutions and the fact that he's running around covering backs part of the time. The problem is the same problem we've seen for over a decade. Run good players out of town because crappy coaches can't figure out how to use them. A year ago, we had one of the best pass rushing defenses in the league. Now we have to retool the defense with new players, because the old players suddenly got bad. It's the very definition of treading water. We've all seen it many times over, and it's happening again. Personally, I'm not saying Mario is indispensable. Cut him, keep him. I honestly don't think it matters. As long as we just continue to rearrange the deck chairs, the real problems are being ignored. -
AP Report: Bills Will Release Mario After the Season

Let the rebuild begin! ....again. Maybe we can bring in more guys like IK and Muligan that buy into Rex's scheme. That's what we need! -

Pegulas announce Rex and Whaley will return in 2016
Dan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly my thinking. And every bit as important as figurung out how he screwed the defense up. And, for me, the worst of it all was that we saw zero improvement over the course of the season. None. How anyone can have confidence that a couple of new players will suddenly make this a playoff team after the garbage coaching we saw this year is beyond me. I guess hope bleeds eternal Buffalo blue. -
Would you re-sign Harvin to $3m incentive laden contract?
Dan replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd prefer the Bills to stop making low risk, high reward type moves trying to catch lightning in a bottle. These guys never pan out for long, and more often than not end up wasting a roster spot and valuable practice time. And when it gets a little tough out, their true colors always show through... and they get injured/quit/pout/fail/..lose. Wouldn't it be nice to just once have good, players that play hard every week and actually make great, game changing plays in clutch situations? Harvin is exactly the type of player you never want on your team. Because he's good enough to make you think he's gonna be good. But he never comes through for the team when he's needed the most. -
Do you think the Bills a well managed football team?
Dan replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They couldn't bring batteries for the head sets. Enough said -
Jets--they really aren't much, if at all better than Bills
Dan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sorry but this is another of those "moral victory" type posts. We're really not that bad, yada, yada. Bottom line, the Jets are 10-5 and playing for a WC playoff spot in the final week of the season. Our season ended in November. They're a better team. Plain and simple. -
You rock. It may have been a meh game to most of us. But, for that mom and her son, its a memory and game that will last a lifetime.

A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order.....
Dan replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO... if Rex stays they need to tell straight out that he has to fire Thomas and hire a real defensive coordinator and then he can focus on being a Head Coach. If he wants to be the DC, then fine, demote him and bring a real HC. But we need a real Head Coach. This team is a dysfunctional mess, undisciplined, soft, bad clock management, poor game plans, they even forget batteries for the damn headsets. We need a HC. Until they get one, nothing else matters. Personally, I don't think Rex is HC material. -
The entire organization is in full on excuse mode. Everyone has an excuse for the steaming pile of mess that had become our season. After 16 years, I'm tired of excuses. And at this point, I don't care what changes are made. No one associated with this team have proven they can win anything.
-
When Rex was hired, I was hesitant. He said he had learned from his time in NY and would improve. I was hopeful. The next day (or so it seemed), he brought his entire staff from the Jets, like you said. I was immediately concerned and doubtful it would work. At this point, like so many people, I'm just trying to figure out how a supposedly smart coach could make so many mistakes doing what he's spent his whole life doing. It just defies logic how quickly the wheels fell off this wagon. I guess now we wait and see how bad it gets.

I've read so much about the players, the coaches, the GM, and so on. We all sit here after yet another dismal year and pick this team apart, debating every position and person. Who needs to go? Who needs to fix it? Where the problem really is? But, for me, the real question is... Does anyone believe that there's a single person in the Bills' organization that can fix this team? We can all talk about which players suck and which don't. Everyone seems to have their favorites - EJ, McKelvin, Woods, etc. But are any of these players winners? Does anyone ever step up and make the play when it has to be made? Do any of them even care that they suck it up week after week? The coaches say they need players to learn their systems. But, does Roman have any idea what situational awareness means? Will we ever have a HC that focuses on details like game planning and getting batteries in a headset? Does every coach in the league just bring along their buddies and ignore the reality that's so apparent to all of us? And the FO... How can Whaley fix this mess? Didn't he just bring in the HC that dismantled the top 5 defense, so he can install his new scheme only to then claim we need new players to fit this new scheme? Why wouldn't they hire a HC who was committed to improving with the current high-priced players? I guess I've just lost all faith in this team. From the top down to the players... I don't think any of them have a clue and I certainly don't have any faith in any of them. So, cut them all, re-sign them, make a few moves, do whatever. I don't think any of it matters any more. They all suck, and not a single one of them seems competent enough to matter. This franchise can't burn it down and start all over - they suck at rebuilding. Suck for a good draft pick - great another 1st round average player. Get a new coach - when was the last tiem they hired a HC that could actually coach? I'm telling you... None of it matters.

Tyler Dunne's TBN Story on Marcell Dareus

Unfortunately, there's more than one. Apparently really rich people can just buy more family and friends, so we should never have empathy for them. -
Article: Comparing Tyrod to the field after 9 games
Dan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I keep seeing people mentiona Kap (or RGIII) as capable backups. What makes anyone think they'd be good backups? For a good backup you need someone that's smart, studies the game and prepares every week. Kap does does not strike me as a student of the game. For a good backup, you want someone like Fitz, or even EJ. Someone that's smart and willing to prepare every week mentally for the game. For those still saying EJ single handedly lost the Jags game.. If anything he fought back from a miserable start and single handedly got us the lead, only to watch the defense give it up with one of their trademark 4th quarter bend and break drives. I firmly think Tyrod should be the starting QB, but I also don't see why EJ is considered such a horrbile QB that he can't even be a backup. I think people jsut let their emotions cloud their rational thought processes. As for Tyrod, I agree, he needs to begin elevating his game. I don't know if its him or Roman's play calling, but the offense disappears for long stretches all too often. Inside the 20, we still don't take shots at the end zone. And slants or posts down the middle of the field are all but nonexistent. Like I said, I don't know if that's due to Tyrod's inabilities or if its Roman simplifying the offense too much. But, its hurt us in quite a few games and I can't fully get behind any QB on any team, until I see them consistently run an offense that attacks the entire field. -
It is time to hire that football consultant
Dan replied to bills_fan_in_raleigh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's time to realize the truth. There is no fork. Then you'll see, that it is not the fork we take, it is a whole new direction. Seriously though, I like the idea of a consultant/czar/president of football ops. Someone that can look at the entire organization from the top down and then has the authority to make whatever changes need to be made. The one thing that I'm left with at this point in the season is that there's a systemic dysfunction in this franchise. It needs to be excised once and for all. We've all seen it manifested in leaked stories about a rogue GM, about fresh batteries not making it to London, undisciplined players repeatedly committing the same penalties, players being benched, cut, re-signed, and ultimately and most importantly in more loses than wins. Half the fans on this board can see the problems; its time someone at OBD see them and actually fix it. -
A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order.....
Dan replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That simple and concise statement pretty well sums up the Bills' 2015 season. We can all banter back and forth about the various players and should they stay or go or get paid or suck, but the coaches on this team seem clueless as to what players they have and what their strengths are. It is indeed incredible. -
I'm as upset as anyone by this loss and another losing season... But really? Don't be an idiot.
-
I've become an old man and my mom who has only asked for one thing in her life... To see the Bills win a Super Bowl.. has become a nascar fan. Damn

Rex Blaming Lack of Key Challenges on Arrowhead Operations
Dan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
F$*# him and his excuses. So we get faulty headsets, bad batteries, broken bus, poor replays, what else? Just man up and say I was once again out couched. I took a top 5 defense and made it average. This team is full of nothing but excuses. -
I'd rather start watching basketball.
-
It just amazes me how a 3rd string RB gets 100yds and a game manager like Smith suddenly is throwing the ball downfield on the defense. And defense is supposed to be the team's strength??
-
I really hate agreeing with you. Normally, I try to see the positive and give this organization the benefit of the doubt. But, here we are again just treading water. And it's hard to argue against the record... The team and organization isn't making progress.
