  1. You can't go down that rabbit hole, because you know that they're the only team to actually be caught and penalized by the league for cheating.... Twice! Have the py had unparalleled success...yes. Have they been caught cheating in actual games...yes. Can any one say with any certainty how much advantage their cheating culture actually afforded them...no. They cheated, they won, the entire franchise, and league for allowing it, is tarnished because of it. The only reason the cheating scandals aren't metioned more is because the league controls the NFL Channel and the distribution rights of their games to the other networks that cover the league. In other words, they direct the narrative.
  2. Anyone that thinks you can play soft zone against this team and win has not paid attention for the last 2 decades. Brady absolutely shreds the soft zones. If I see Hughs running backward at the snap to cover some receiver in a zone, I will lose all faith in this coaching staff to ever have a clue. You absolutely have to pressure Brady, up the middle, in his face. Sure if you can do it with 4; that's awesome. But we all know our front 4 can't do that... They haven't all year. So we have to send timed blitzes frequently! Then you play the receivers in tight, man coverage, jamming them on the line. Because you absolutely have to disrupt the timing of the passing offense and try to take away the shallow, crossing, pick plays that they love. If you play zone, 5 yards off the ball, you're dead. There is no single way to beat this cheating team. But you have an immobile QB with a sore achilles, that loves shallow, crossing, pick plays. Stop that and you have a shot. Let him stand upright with no pressure, and we've all seen him pick apart every team that's ever tried it. On offense... Keep Tyrod mobile! I don't care if he runs on every pass attempt. But, if they think he can stand in the pocket and routinely read a BB defense, they're nuts.
  3. I genuinely don't understand this opinion. The current FO, not the previous one(s), gutted the roster of talent and brought in the the aging vets that aren't producing. Perhaps the only thing you could blame Whaley for is not finding the franchise QB. But even then, he brought in the best QB we've had since Bledsoe.
  4. They do that with every position. This year, in particular, they have dumped more talent with little to nothing to replace it. It begs the question as to why they've deliberately gutted the roster the way they have? But, I agree with you, I hope they keep Tyrod and design an offense to play to his strengths. Draft 2, 3, 10 guys! Just draft someone to be the franchise. But, develop him and groom him to start in the NFL. In a few years time, he may be ready and Tyrod could guve us decent competitive football in the meantime.
  5. Funny how we changed coaching and offensive scheme and suddenly the entire offensive line that was integral in leading the league in rushing is garbage and needs to be replaced.
  6. Quoted for truth. McBean fully owns the mess that this team is in. The team they inherited wasn't playing nearly as poorly, nor was it devoid of tallent until they cut/traded them all away.
  7. Lets not forget.... Hamden!
  8. I genuinely hope everyone is right. I'll certainly be watching intently. My only ask... Let's not all fall apart when the kid struggles. If he does have it, it's going to take me than a game or 2.
  9. I guess I get that. And, as a Bills fan, I truly hope he can and does excel. I just don't get the euphoria around it. Maybe, I'm just too jaded, but I've seen far more rookie QBs fail than succeed. And given that we have almost no actual game footage to go on, I really don't understand the certainty that so many posters seem to have.
  10. This is my question to the Peterman faithful.... How can you say that? He played 2 series in a blow put game. I just don't understand how/why everyone is so confident that Peterman is the next great QB.
  11. There is absolutely no way I could disagree with anything in this post. I've never been completely sold on Tyrod. I often find myself wishing he'd throw the damn ball rather than hold it and scramble around. But, when you see other teams struggling with bad QB (Denver), you realize the Bills could be a lot worse off. Add in the fact, as you say, that in 2016 with an offense more suited to Tyrod's strengths, he ran a rather productive offense. But... now we get Peterman. Good or bad,who knows yet. One thing I hope everyone is ready for are the rookie mistakes he's going to make. The ill-timed interceptions he's going to throw. I think a lot of people are going to have their faith tested!
  12. I think I'll know after 3 downs. Either he has it or we get to run someone else out of town. It's win win really.
  13. I think people are saying the team quit, because for the last 2 games.. They looked completely out matched in every possible phase. In fact, they looked so bad, it had all the appearance of players not even trying. Because lets be honest.. .you have to almost willfully do something to be so bad that you only have 56yds of passing, or give up a 94yd touchdown drive all with runs. I don't think the players gave up. I just think the FO has completely shred this team of talent and has been using it as a season long try out. Look no futher than the mess that is the offensive line, for evidence that the coaching staff is using this season as a means to evaluate talent as opposed to try and win games. They got lucky a few times, sure. But now the league has caught up to them and the results aren't pretty. The only thing I can't figure out is why this FO ans coaching staff is so inept that they need to waste an entire season to learn how to do their jobs. The inability of this franchise to field a professional football team is beyond reason at this point.
  14. They've been pretty systematic about dumping most all the talent from the team since they got here.
  15. I don't understand how players come to Buffalo and completey forget how to play football. I mean, we're right back where we were... They can't tackle. They can't complete the simplest of passes. They completely forget how to blitze. You name it, they don't have it. Pride, desire..nothing. They have nothing. 2 weeks in a row and i'm still wondering is Buffalo going to field a professional football team again this year? They suck. This was fun. Now its just pathetic.
  16. I hear ya.... I didn't sit comfortably till that game was over as well! LOL It would be really awesome if we blew the Saints. But, honesty, I don't care how we win. We just need to find a way to win this one and keep the good vibes going.
  17. Does the Raiders game not count?
  18. Hard to really recall it all... But I was a frequent visitor to that HyperBills site ..that may be where I got my profile pic actually.. But lurked for years getting my Bills fix (I imagine if I pulled out some old backup drives, I could still get the bookmarked url from the original site in my old Netscape Navigator backup.) The new interwebs were so much faster than my Shout! Magazine... It always arrived Monday, after the game. I still read it. But, reading articles in the D&C and discussions on the HyperBills boards got me through graduate school! I think I signed up in '02 after working on the pile for months ..I just needed something to talk about other than the real world for a while. Been coming here pretty much daily every since.
  19. Amazing! Technology is the best. LOL
  20. Because of games like this...this wasn't a loss. It was an embarrassment. It's up to the coaches and players to go out and prove this was just a bad night and not the true character of this team. Go Bills.
  21. Yes! I know. I'm not proud of it... maybe we need a support group for those afflicted with BBFS ? 😊 However.... I must say, its not that I don't think this is a good team or that they're winning in an unsustainable fashion. I just can't help but be nervous until the closing whistle of each game. I've just had my heart broken in so many ways! I'll also say that a single loss nor a single win will will confirm anything ...for me. This is a team I already see moving in the right direction. I just hope they can continue to build on the success they've had this year and we see just how awesome this season can get!
  22. I got it bad, man! I can not rest easy knowing it's a short week, prime time game, against a division rival that ..should.. be fallin apart. I'm so nervous!
  23. There is absolutely no reason to even consider trading away one of the best LTs in the league. I've never seen a single word of him being a problem on the team and his play speaks for itself. I cannot fathom why these discussion even exist.
  24. It wouldn't be the first time a Bills player was penalized for slapping his own teammate on the head and congratulating him for a good play.
  25. If you can't appreciate and enjoy that moment, as a Bills fan, them you need to seriously back up, take a breath and try to enjoythe ride that is the 2017 season. This team, these players, haven't been there before. They've rarely made game changing plays. They certainly haven't been on a winning team in Buffalo before. That play was right at a critical time in the game, we needed a drive, and it was after another penalty that moved us from 3rd and short to 2nd and 20. McD has probably been preaching that they need to overcome these situations and not let the refs beat them. Then bam..the exact game scenrio plays out, and Tate, largely through individual effort alone, just did exactly what they had been practicing and preaching. It was a great, spontaneous moment. I hit the old DVR back button several times to watch it at the time. It was fun. It was a good moment to be a Bills fan!
