[closed]Why the rush to Peterman this week......
Dan replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is my question to the Peterman faithful.... How can you say that? He played 2 series in a blow put game. I just don't understand how/why everyone is so confident that Peterman is the next great QB. -
What's your reaction if Peterman is terrible this Sunday
Dan replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is absolutely no way I could disagree with anything in this post. I've never been completely sold on Tyrod. I often find myself wishing he'd throw the damn ball rather than hold it and scramble around. But, when you see other teams struggling with bad QB (Denver), you realize the Bills could be a lot worse off. Add in the fact, as you say, that in 2016 with an offense more suited to Tyrod's strengths, he ran a rather productive offense. But... now we get Peterman. Good or bad,who knows yet. One thing I hope everyone is ready for are the rookie mistakes he's going to make. The ill-timed interceptions he's going to throw. I think a lot of people are going to have their faith tested! -
How Many Starts Do You Need for a Fair Evaluation?
Dan replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I'll know after 3 downs. Either he has it or we get to run someone else out of town. It's win win really. -
I think people are saying the team quit, because for the last 2 games.. They looked completely out matched in every possible phase. In fact, they looked so bad, it had all the appearance of players not even trying. Because lets be honest.. .you have to almost willfully do something to be so bad that you only have 56yds of passing, or give up a 94yd touchdown drive all with runs. I don't think the players gave up. I just think the FO has completely shred this team of talent and has been using it as a season long try out. Look no futher than the mess that is the offensive line, for evidence that the coaching staff is using this season as a means to evaluate talent as opposed to try and win games. They got lucky a few times, sure. But now the league has caught up to them and the results aren't pretty. The only thing I can't figure out is why this FO ans coaching staff is so inept that they need to waste an entire season to learn how to do their jobs. The inability of this franchise to field a professional football team is beyond reason at this point.

Bills vs. Saints Postgame - Total Domination
Dan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They've been pretty systematic about dumping most all the talent from the team since they got here. -
I don't understand how players come to Buffalo and completey forget how to play football. I mean, we're right back where we were... They can't tackle. They can't complete the simplest of passes. They completely forget how to blitze. You name it, they don't have it. Pride, desire..nothing. They have nothing. 2 weeks in a row and i'm still wondering is Buffalo going to field a professional football team again this year? They suck. This was fun. Now its just pathetic.

I hear ya.... I didn't sit comfortably till that game was over as well! LOL It would be really awesome if we blew the Saints. But, honesty, I don't care how we win. We just need to find a way to win this one and keep the good vibes going.

Does the Raiders game not count?

Hard to really recall it all... But I was a frequent visitor to that HyperBills site ..that may be where I got my profile pic actually.. But lurked for years getting my Bills fix (I imagine if I pulled out some old backup drives, I could still get the bookmarked url from the original site in my old Netscape Navigator backup.) The new interwebs were so much faster than my Shout! Magazine... It always arrived Monday, after the game. I still read it. But, reading articles in the D&C and discussions on the HyperBills boards got me through graduate school! I think I signed up in '02 after working on the pile for months ..I just needed something to talk about other than the real world for a while. Been coming here pretty much daily every since.

Amazing! Technology is the best. LOL

Because of games like this...this wasn't a loss. It was an embarrassment. It's up to the coaches and players to go out and prove this was just a bad night and not the true character of this team. Go Bills.

Week 9: Jets' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
Dan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes! I know. I'm not proud of it... maybe we need a support group for those afflicted with BBFS ? 😊 However.... I must say, its not that I don't think this is a good team or that they're winning in an unsustainable fashion. I just can't help but be nervous until the closing whistle of each game. I've just had my heart broken in so many ways! I'll also say that a single loss nor a single win will will confirm anything ...for me. This is a team I already see moving in the right direction. I just hope they can continue to build on the success they've had this year and we see just how awesome this season can get! -
Week 9: Jets' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
Dan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got it bad, man! I can not rest easy knowing it's a short week, prime time game, against a division rival that ..should.. be fallin apart. I'm so nervous! -
There is absolutely no reason to even consider trading away one of the best LTs in the league. I've never seen a single word of him being a problem on the team and his play speaks for itself. I cannot fathom why these discussion even exist.

If you can't appreciate and enjoy that moment, as a Bills fan, them you need to seriously back up, take a breath and try to enjoythe ride that is the 2017 season. This team, these players, haven't been there before. They've rarely made game changing plays. They certainly haven't been on a winning team in Buffalo before. That play was right at a critical time in the game, we needed a drive, and it was after another penalty that moved us from 3rd and short to 2nd and 20. McD has probably been preaching that they need to overcome these situations and not let the refs beat them. Then bam..the exact game scenrio plays out, and Tate, largely through individual effort alone, just did exactly what they had been practicing and preaching. It was a great, spontaneous moment. I hit the old DVR back button several times to watch it at the time. It was fun. It was a good moment to be a Bills fan!

A Few Thoughts About the Raiders Game in no particular order
Dan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got BBFS bad... I wasn't comfortable till Shady's bug run and score. I can't help it. I've seen this team literally invent ways to lose. However, this team does feel different. They play hard. They seem well coached. You can feel them believing more and more each week. It's making me want to believe. Everything tells me, we should come crashing back to reality, but man it's fun seeing this team come together. I'm enjoying the hell out of this ride. One more win now! Let's keep this rolling. Go Bills!! -
I was gonna post and say something about what a good game and... I forget. What?

CBS Studio Analysts praise Bills, Fans, McDermott
Dan replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That play was awesome! And the way the team celebrated it even better. I'm not sure why they all seemed so happy for him...but it was awesome to see! -
That sentiment pretty well sums up my thoughts. The Bills have not been winning consistently with any of these guys, so I'm not too upset to see ..any.. of them go. However.... It would have been nice to get something in return for Dareus. A 6th round pick is about a half a step away from just cutting him out right. But, you take the deal you can. And if anyone has been watching the games lately, and looking at his play, it's quite apparent that he's been mailing it in. I found it funny that McD would have to actually say in a press conference that Dareus had a good practice that day. I mean that's how far his motivation and play had fallen.... They had to try to pump his ego in the smallest of ways. Normally, I don't like in season trades and moves like this. Because for whatever was going on, the Bills were winning more than losing. So normally I'd want to keep that train rolling. Like all trades and deals, this will all be judged in time. But, for now, I find it hard to believe that people really think he was giving his full effort every week on the field and has significantly helped the team in any way get to 4-2.

Maybe all team's fans do this... But Bills' fans definitely do it... And that is succumb to the grass is always greener elsewhere ideaolgy. We been doing it for as long as I can remember. Remember the Flutie/Johson era? All we needed was to dump statue Bledsoe for a more mobile QB and we'd definitely get at least 2 more wins per year. Heck, how many people were actually calling for to start over Kelly back in 91/92? Tyrod is a good QB. He may not be HOF caliber, but that doesn't diminish the fact that he's a solid, good QB that does more good than bad on the field. We should definitely keep drafting young QBs to find the next guy, but don't be so quick to rush Tyrod out of town. Because I can almost guarantee you that the next guy is not gonna be any better for quite some time, if ever. I just recalled a good friend of mine that's a life long Broncos fan. Man did he hate Manning's rag arm those last two seasons. All he wanted was a new QB, any QB, and they'd be better. Well.... look at the Broncos now. The grass is not always greener. Tyrod may not be the best QB in the league, but he's easily the best QB we've had in more than 2 decades. We shouldn't be so quick to run him out of town. i agree with the bolded part. Definitely should draft someone, but let's develop a he next guy properly and not rush anyone onto the field. We don't need to.
-
Not to single your post out... But I repeatedly see this sentiment throughout the board. I think a lot of people are getting a little too hyped for this epic draft we're going to have. We're going to package picks to trade up and get the long awaited franchise QB, draft a stud WR, all star new DT, a couple starting LBs, CB, and depth on the lines and secondary . It's getting a little unrealistic, if you ask me.

I don't have a facebook. So... Nope.

Excellent write up and review, as always. I enjoy the read and your take each week. Thank you. 2. I hate to even post about Tyrod due to all the incessant derailing, but I agree with you. I think he's good enough to win us plenty of games and keep us competitive for a couple years. But I can't help but think he's one of those guys that does just enough to look good, but never enough to elevate the team to a championship, ala Romo (sorry I just derailed the whole thread!). I'm happy he's on the team; wish him well; and hopeful he can get us further than I imagine. And look forward to the Bills drafting ..and developing.. a franchise QB for decades to come. 5. I actually got choked up watching that. For all the "tankers" that want better draft picks... Go tell Kyle Williams he needs to lose on purpose so the team can get better. I dare you. That guy is all heart! 7. That end of half play was ...pathetic. I'll chalk it up to a young HC learning and making mistakes. We all do. But it's called situational football. The coaches not only need to be aware of it, remind the players of it, but also practice in these situations. It's precisely these types of situations, this lack of execution by all involved, the missed points; that separate the playoff teams from the good teams. 8. White can straight up play! I hope he can continue it into January. Yes, it was a great game and a win we needed to finish out to stay pace with the afc. For those who wanted great, dominant wins every week, the NFL is not designed to give us that anymore. You take wins where you can get them. And this was a good, hard fought win that I'll gladly take! 4-2 is soooooo much better than 3-3.

SNF: ATL vs. NE on NBC at 8:30 PM ET
Dan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does Al and this broadcasting crew realize that no one gives a crap about last year's Super Bowl. Give it a rest already.
