  1. I’m not sure you can say that. To be fair though… the 13 second game was the Divisional round. Even had we won, there is no guarantee the Bills win the championship the following week. We all assume, and fully saw that team as unstoppable… but that game was not for the championship which so many people seem to gloss over.
  2. That maybe, despite what some posters say, we don’t have the worst WRs and starting safeties on the league.
  3. Maybe some of the people here aren’t all that smart after all? hmmmm….
  4. I’m sure there’s more to it than this… but the way I see it… both Coleman and Cooper have wrist/hand concerns. So they can run fine. We keep trotting #1 and #89 out there every week and neither does more than run around and make sure we have 11 people on the field. Why not let Coleman and Cooper be those that run around and don’t catch any passes? At least the defense thinks they might. If I’m on the defense and #89 goes in the game, why would you think he’s a viable receiving option on the play? He’s clearly there just to go in motion and run around. I’d be stacking the box and doubling the other WR every time.
  5. It’s a wrist… you don’t need that to run decoy routes do you? I say take the injury report and play him, limited.
  6. We had 2 roster spots open. We just got gashed on the ground …again. Signing DTs makes sense. And for those wanting pro bowl talent… you don’t get that without giving up considerable draft picks AND money. So what do you expect? I would qualify these as solid moves to get try and shore up one of our greatest areas of current need. It also tells me the injuries to Keon, Cooper, Benford… aren’t that serious and they’re expected to be back soon.
  7. I tend to agree with you completely. And I think it’s that 70-75% win rate and high statistical standings that have the coaching staff convinced they just need to remain status quo. I think it’s also why we keep getting bumped in the divisional round. At that point, there are no bad teams left. McDs defense keeps it close. The O leaves the field with a lead, even. But the D gives up the cheap score and we’re done. It’s much to early to start thinking or talking playoffs, but it’s hard to imagine the Bills not being there at this point. Which is awesome! I just really hope the coaching staff has spent the time to develop an answer, and that it’s more than… if only we can be healthy and have a few good bounces. We have some tough games coming up and a near lock on the division… should be a good opportunity to try something new out.
  8. And it works most of the time. The defensive philosophy definitely keeps ..most.. every game close and within reach for Josh. I just wish, they could come up with some wrinkles to throw off the better offenses that can run and utilize the short passing game with high efficiency. They need something different to get them over the hump in the playoffs.
  9. You touch on some good points, especially about the playoffs. Our defense is good, but against really good offenses that execute well… they can get gashed waiting for that 1 offensive player to make a mistake. The answer, IMO, they’re gonna have to play a more risky gameplan if they ever wanna get past the best teams, like KC.
  10. Exactly. And they even state ..that with the banged up secondary they played it very safe with 2 deep safeties to avoid the big passes. Like it or not… the coaching staff drew up a game plan to make the Fins sustain long drives. Give the Fins credit… they played exceptionally well, stayed patient and it almost paid off for them. For once, it was our kicker making the long, against all odds kick to win the game. But it could have easily gone the other way. I’m glad it didn’t and love the win. Now regroup, and move forward with a new game plan for a new opponent.
  11. You could probably say both. Who cares? The Bills won. How many times have we played the better game, only to lose on a ridiculous last second 60ish long FG?? Take the win, enjoy it. There will be time to tell us how right you are when the season is over.
  12. Agreed.. i don’t think ANYONE had any confidence he would make that kick! But… they had to try it. I'm glad they did. LOL. Bigger question… say they got 7 or 8 yds on 3rd down. Would they have still kicked or gone for the 1st down?
  13. So you’re saying this is a trap game?
  14. Thank you for the writeup and letting us all here know. I've been around this place for decades and truly enjoy the back and forth discussion. I've never met anyone from here, but its funny how you feel like you know someone through their posts. And, perhaps more importantly, you miss their insights when life gets in the way of being here. John and all out extended Bills' family will be in my thoughts tonight. Go Bills
  15. I didn’t see him, but wasn’t specifically looking at the WRs. Definitely will be something to watch this week.
  16. I don’t think so. Nothing mentioned, at least.
  17. Gotta say… I thought he did a great job during the game. Don’t get me wrong.. I really don’t like anything about him. But he talked pretty evenly about both teams, added insight, was a good color announcer.
  18. I fee like this is the case every week. And has been for years. The Bills are very predictable on offense and defense. They have their base packages and calls and always default to that, especially to start a game. Other teams know that and that’s why 1st quarters are quite frequently not good. It’s almost like our coaching staff wants to see what the other team is doing before they adjust the game plan. Sometimes that happens pretty quickly, some times it takes until the 3rd quarter. When they face the better coaching staffs, it seems to lead to a hole that they have a hard time digging out of. Because the better teams are making their own adjustments and we can’t keep up. But I agree with you… for this game they should come out with a different look to start the game. Play to what you expect the Seahawks to do right out of the gate.
  19. For all the concern about Bernard’s durability… let’s just be clear, his ankle injury happened when his foot go stepped on by a large human being and it twisted his ankle. It’s the type of injury that could happen to anyone of any size, regardless of training or conditioning.
  20. The first half was bad. Horrible offensive game plan and play calling. I know the Titans have a good defense, but we did absolutely nothing to confuse them or take advantage of their tendencies. Rather, we played right into ours and let them T off. Brady had to get better. Was so happy to see them pull away in the 2nd half! Hopefully they continue that.
  21. End of thread.. you win 3 super bowls… you get a lot of lee way. until Josh wins one.. there will always be some doubters. Just the way it is.
  22. For all the Hamlin trashing that goes on around here… people forget that he’s a starting safety on a 4-2 team, with pretty decent defensive stats overall. So maybe he’s not the best safety in the league. But he looked better than the rookie did in his start. So folks should cut the guy some slack. The rookie is the long term answer… but he’s clearly not ready yet.
  23. Did anyone ask him if he knew a trade was brewing? I didn’t hear it, but it seemed to me he was a bit as shocked/surprised as we all were when it was announced. I imagine that messes with your mind to just get traded and sent out with little warning or preparation.
