Prediction: Jags beat us 19-6 and M Wiley...
Dan replied to TDRupp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
..and A-Train with 18 hard hitting yards. Hooooraay Train!! [All the girls say] He's so dreamy. -
So, you're calling someone a total POS because of a stupid college prank that, at most, went a little overboard? Surely, you're not serious. By this measuring stick, the entire world is full of disgraceful PsOS. Perhaps there are a few guys that are good. But, I'd say about 2 i nthe history of mankind.

Prediction: Jags beat us 19-6 and M Wiley...
Dan replied to TDRupp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. This game could be horrible for us. However, on the positive, it can also be a tremendous win. -
All I can say is that for those Denver fans crying for a true rookie to take over the reigns of a playoff contending team in December, they'll get exactly what they deserve.

Peyton is perhaps the best QB in the game today and perhaps one of the best to ever play the game. Furthermore, he doesn't talk trash and make the game all about himself; in fact, he honors its history with his dress. Add to that, he's a truly decent person outside the game as well (no wild parties, no baby mamas, no drugs, or drunk driving, etc.). In essence, he's exactly the type of player and the quality of player that everyone here "says" they want. Yet, he's regularly trashed by posters here. That tells me several things: 1. Posters here don't know the first thing about football. 2. Posters here are jealous of other team's players that do well. 3. Posters here will never be happy with any measure of success. 4. Posters here just like to find crap to complain about. The only viable complaint against Manning was that he couldn't win the big games. That one complaint, I would argue, as been put to rest in recent seasons, as he's won several big games. The Colts have not gotten to the Superbowl, but I would also argue that's due more to the team and coach around him than due to his play. We all know about Marty Shottenhiemer (or however you spell that) and his record of getting to the Superbowl. Well, I'd put Dungy right up there with him. I'll go so far to say that if Manning can get a Dungy-coached team a Superbowl win; then he's the best QB period. Finally, I'll just add that any Bills fan that uses the argument: "he can't win the big game; therefore he sucks." should be banned from this site. A Bills fan saying that is the absolute definition of the pot calling the kettle black. In essence, they're saying that Kelly, Thomas and none of the 90's Bills were any good because they couldn't win the big game. So, please if any moderater reads this post, please take my suggestion into consideration. It's one thing for a poster to show their ignorance (we all do that from time to time), but its a completely different thing all together when they blatantly use their ignorance to trash our team and our team's players.

If at all possible get DirecTV with the NFL ticket. I held off for years due to the price. I felt it obscene to pay that much just to watch a game. 2 years ago, I moved and cable was not an option, so I had to get a satellite. So, I bit the bullet and got the NFL ticket with it. By far, this is the best purchase I think I've ever made in my life! I cannot stress it enough. A horribly sucky Bills getting blown out by the Bears is still 10 times better than the Cowboys and Redskins or some other such crap. My sister rents her house and got an ok from her landlord to install it. I've also known friends that got it installed while in an apartment. So, if that's the hang up, I'd suggest getting a little creative. But, whatever you do... get it. Trust me you won't regret it. As an added bonus, you get NFL Network. Since I've gotten that, I can't even spell ESPM.

Bills.com compares JP's stats to current
Dan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But, wins and losses are so much more dependent on the team as a whole. Now, I completely agree its important. But, if a QB is in a position like JP was on Sunday and continually throws ints. Then he's to blame. However, if we punt and the defense doesn't get us the ball back; can you really chalk that up to poor QB play. Yes, wins and losses are the most important stat. However, you can't really use them to judge a single player. -
Excellent points and welcome. Of course, I say that because I mostly agree. I do, however, think we can still improve the line this offseason. I'm not sure we can do it so much with starters. I really don't know the FAs that will be out there. I do think that a good draft is needed that will add depth and a solid future for the line. JP, unforyunately for a few, does appear to have the makings of a good QB and I feel he's here for at least another season or two - borrowing some colossal collapse. If you've been reading for a while, you know how wrong we are in these statements. Again, welcome to the posting side. I too watched for quite a while before I began posting. And I still try to keep my posting down to a minimum.

If you give JP time to throw he can make any pass
Dan replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I won't bring up the sun either. I really don't think it was a problem by then. Rather, I think the biggest problem was the line (I know, I know). But, as I saw it, there were alot of guys between JP and the defender, so he probably didn't see the guy. JP should have side-stepped a little to make sure he had a good lane to make the throw. I believe the announcer even commented as such. The line did their job and held up the protection, but JP couldn't see enough of the field to tell if a defender was baiting him in. Hopefully, he'll learn that with those type of passes, he has to side step (if needed), or be absolutely sure a defender isn't there to make that play. -
I'm afraid the only thing that will slow LT down is 2 feet of snow. Our defense makes average backs look great. LT will likely break records on us. To beat them would be nothing short of a huge upset. No win for this team is gonna be easy. And I certainly wouldn't just write the Titans off. They've been playing tough all year. And Travis will want to have a big day; and again have we stopped a back all season? I'm hopeful, but not expectant.

I'd agree with this. No one is right 100% of the time. Personally, I agreed with the call in NE, loved it. I wasn't happy with the punt, yesterday. It did work out and, therefore, I must have been wrong. At the time, I thought there was no way in hell our defense would stop them with enough time to do anything. Again, I was wrong. However, what do we make of the decision at the end of the 2nd quarter? We had about a minute or so on the clock and ran the time off - content with a 3 point lead. A similar decision was made last week against the Colts. In the end, I guess we didn't make a mistake and stayed in the games, but could we have scored in both (or either) of those situations and perhaps changed the game? So far, the trend I would say we're seeing is a highly conservative one. I must say though; I am difinitely liking the personnel decisions of this coaching staff. I'm still a little un in the air over their game time adjustment ability.

I truly hope so. Its been a long time coming.

That pretty much sums up how I watch most Bills games these days. On the second Evans TD, I sat in disbelief until they were kicking the point after. I was like.... no way, no way that just happened. Even after the final TD, I was thinking wait we still have 9 seconds. Man it's nice to have this win.
-
Nicely stated! And I agree, I was convinced we were on our way to losing that game. Especially when we punted with 3 minutes left. But, JP proved me wrong and clearly showed he's got some skills. Now he and the rest of the team need to build off this and keep moving forward. This was absolutely the best way to win this game.
-
Absolutely should include loss of down.
-
JP's best game.... yet. He'll have many more over the next 10 years.
-
Yeah right. He'll still find some crap to spew.
-
Anyone that can say JP hasn't shown a glimpse of greatness, is insane. Great game in every respect! However, I really want to say I'm really starting to love Holcomb. The number of times he's talking to JP, seemingly helping him understand things and encouraging him. He's really becoming a favorite of mine.

Three Time Outs - Over a minute on the clock
Dan replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he's just ULTRA conservative and figures why risk anything. We have the lead and get the ball back to start the 3rd. So, why not just run out the clock. On one hand, I can see the logic. On the other, I think it shows a definitive lack of balls. -
On the fumble at the end of the secong quarter, he was "helping" tackle the guy with the ball. That's about the only time I can really say that I've seen his jersey.
-
Exactly. Looks like some of those people that wanted an exciting high scoring loss are getting their wish. If the defense can't step up, this as all the makings of a colossal loss.
-
There was 26 seconds after the 2nd down run. 3rd down play.... left 20 seconds on the clock. Then we punt. Friggin pathetic!
-
2 weeks in a row and nothin not even an attempt to get points before the half!!! Jauron is really starting to piss me off.

Houston must really suck! Seriously, now why haven't we opened it up like this more often?
