  1. That's pretty much how I see it, as well. It's hard to game plan against a team when they change their roster and throw everything at you but the kitchen sink in an attempt to get a win. Those are tough games. The Bills rode the storm out and came out on top. I particularly liked the fact that they didn't get nervous and abandon the run game in an all out effort to score from behind. The team stayed cool, level-headed and made the plays they needed to win. IT's got to give them a ton of confidence. It's interesting because in some ways they're getting another desperate team next week in the Cards. After falling to 2-2 on the east coast, they're going to do all they can to get a win and stay in the NFC west race. Should be another tough game.
  2. Damnit! Well played, sir.
  3. I keep seeing reference to Trent have 3 - 4th quarter comebacks in as many weeks. But, if memory serves correctly, didsn't Greer's interception at the beginning of the 4th quarter put us ahead? Granted Trent threw a nice score to Lee and got us down for another field goal, but those were while we had the lead. Right? Not that I'm taking away from Trent's game at all. I'm just wondering if I saw something different from the rest of the world.
  4. Something I think we all have to remember.... Trent is still very inexperienced. He's playing very well, but... he's still not played a full season's worth of games. So, he's going to make a few mistakes, bad reads, etc. during the course of a game and the season. It should be expected to see opposing defenses throw all sorts of blitz packages and personnel packages at Trent in an attempt to confuse him. I think that's exactly what the Raiders and Rams did. To Trent's (and Schonert's) credit, he fought through it, minimized his mistakes, and made the right adjustments to come out on top in the end. This season goes as far as Trent will take us, and he's responding wonderfully. Once teams realize they can't win by blitzing and stunting like crazy, the line will look alot better.
  5. I completely agree. It's nice to see him getting fewer carries per game this year. Yes, his stat line doesn't look as good. But, if it keeps him fresher throughout the season and keeps him on the teams a few extra seasons; it's more than worth it. Jackson looks very good out there. For the first time in a long time, I don't feel bad at all when our #1 back (Lynch) comes out on a critical down. However, I think alot of Jackson's success can be attributed to defenses keying in on Lynch and Jackson coming in, in less predicatable situations. His TD run yesterday, for example, was a typical passing down, not a run up the middle down.
  6. You're forgetting about the tie-breaker.
  7. Agreed. I continued to say over and over during the 1st half... just get through this half. They just had to weather the storm. And they did. Any way you draw it up... 31-14 = 4-0 !
  8. 3rd Trap game in a row! for the Bills. Not sure how that's possible, but I'm certain we'll see it talked about.
  9. I understand that line of reasoning. But, whether you like it or not, the dude is the leader of Iran. To simply ignore him is not an option, IMO. I would absolutely love for bin Laden to request a sit down discussion. I would show up in a heartbeat with gun in hand. I'd agree. It's not black and white; and therein lies the problem. By stating we won't sit down and talk - period, then you're trying to make it black and white - do what we want or we won't play. Either way, I guess I'd rather have someone try to talk out the problems before they go in guns blazing; rather than shoot first and ask questions later. But that's just me.
  10. I think the bolded portion is perhaps the most important question. Is that where her country needs her? Do we still need to be in Iraq? If yes, when do we no longer need to be there? Dean put it quite nicely; we've seemed to have several measures for "success" we've met them, yet we're still there with little end in sight. I feel very fortunate to live in a country where people like your niece have the dedication and courage to volunteer for active military service. I just wish politicians would at least appear to use a little more fore thought and concern for their lives before putting them in harm's way. One of the more interesting things I picked out of the debate... McCain said it was very, very dangerous to sit down and talk to Iran and other governments. How is it more dangerous to talk to someone than to send troops into their country? All in all, I'd call the debate a draw. Neither guy really showed anything different than what we all already knew about them. Interesting reading all the opinions though.
  11. It's amazing how that one game changed the psyche of so many of us. I suppose you can include the Comeback game as well. But for years, and years I watched every second of every game (that I could) saying that the Bills could still win. Afterall, I had seen them come back from much worse. I'd say the most depressing thing about the team over the last few years has been the losing of that feeling. I don't know exactly when it happened, but it certainly did. Now, I watch games and no matter the lead, I watch every second of the game saying that they can still lose. Afterall, I've seen them blow easier wins. After the last 2 weeks, it's refreshing to see that old feeling of the Bills circling the wagons coming back. I won't pretend to have ultimate confidence in the team, yet. But, they really do look like a good team, a solid team, a team that never quits. And for years, that's all I've wanted - to watch a team that tried to win as much I cheered for them to win.
  12. Thanks. But I consider myself just above average intelligent, handsome, and humble. Not so much well informed, though.
  13. One thing that stood out to me... he has fellow second year players Lynch and Poz over for dinner all the time. If you watched the Trent Vidoes in a different thread, Hamdan says that this team has the best chemistry of any team he's ever been on (and he's been on several). I think that says alot about the team and this article seems to go further again to support that. It's great to see such a great sense of friendship among the team. If team chemistry is important at all for winning games, then the Bills are definitely moving in the right direction.
  14. If the RB took the snap and stood back there trying to make a pass, then I would assume he's afforded the same invisible shield as a QB. However, once he takes off running, which is what they did, then he's fair game to be tackled like any player. Now it would be interesting if he took off running and just before being tackled he took a slide. Technically, that's be a penalty if he got hit, right? But as for the QB out there, I'd say he's fair game. And I'd line some up against him and knock the ever lovin crap out of him. I heard one of the talking heads this weekend say they called that formation the "kill the QB" formation. Because if you ever saw it, you ran a LB over and took out the team's QB.
  15. Hamdan Rocks!!
  16. I thought the Raiders were the trap game? How many trap games can we have each week?
  17. I beg to differ. In week 2, Seattle scored 30 points; yesterday they scored 37. Seems like a decent offense to me. All the Jags did was go into Indy's house, score 20 points, run for about 200 yards and beat the Colts. Seems like a decent effort to me.
  18. Why you gotta be bringin Hamdan into this?
  19. DOH. I sure did. I've avoided that thread because I wasn't in the mood to read anything negative immediately after the game. Then the Whitner bashing started, but that one's kinda funny in a twisted sort of way.
  20. Apparently Whitner sucks. Trent is the man, although many un-named posters still pine away for JP to start. Peters blows. Kelsay rocks. Evans is below average. What else..... oh yeah, the refs hate us.
  21. No way taunting gets called there. I'm surprised they called it even with Whitner's hit. Maybe the refs dislike the showboating as much as we do?
  22. That, right there, is the question. Why they abandoned the defense that held Trent in check all day? And what can/will Buffalo do in the upcoming weeks when other teams copy what the Raiders did?
  23. No problem. If you're like me, you're still experiencing mild shock from watching our team score 17 pts in the 4th quarter and somehow find a way to ein a game they looked like they were trying to lose. Wow. what a game!
  24. My mistake. I just re-read the initial post. I misunderstood it. I retract my earlier comment.
  25. Is Buffalo in the NFC now?
