  1. I agree; it would have been close as to whether it was overturned or not. On TV feed, we had one replay to look at. On that one, as he was being pulled backwards, I saw the light disappear from about his ankle to mid way up his leg (not quite to his knee); but there was still light between his knee and the grass. Kinda weird to think your shin could be down and not your knee, if you ask me; but maybe he's got fat calves. Now, maybe there was better angle the replay official would have seen.
  2. OK, upon review: His knee was NOT down. However, his shin almost certainly was. As I recall from earlier today 1 shin = 1 knee. So he should have been down. Initially, I thought the ball came out when he hit it on the ground. It actually came out of his hand just inches above the ground. So, the ground did not cause the fumble. It would have been a close review and I would never expect the Refs to give the Bills a call. But, IMO, his shin was down when the defender was pulling him back. Regardless of the outcome, Jauron still should have challenged it.
  3. Glad to see someone else post this. I posted a thread early and it was deleted (no biggie), but Bryan, #96, pretty much gets beat every time he's on the field. I'm guessing the offense sees him come on the field and they call a run right at him. The guy was by far the weakest link of a weak defensive effort. Please, bench #96.
  4. You're missing the point. JP being in the game allowed the Cards to score 41. If Trent was playing the Cards would have only score 20 points and we would have won. Not saying I agree with it, just pointing out the logic that dictates that JP is responsible for all bad plays.
  5. I hear ya and more power to ya.
  6. You're probably better of just recognizing that for so many posters JP is to blame for every cruel and unjust action in the world and ignoring them. I fully expect JP to be blamed for losing the bye week. It amazes me how someone that has tried so hard to do well is hated so much by some.
  7. I wondered that as well at the time. Seems like last week a much lighter hit on a QB was flagged. I think they called it "driving him into the ground". Certainly, at least, Trent was driven into the ground. It will be interesting to see if a fine results from it. Not sure it would have mattered at all in the grand scheme of things. But, still...
  8. YES! There is a silver lining to this afterall.
  9. Well there was about a half dozen 3rd and longs it would have been nice to jump the slant pass on. I'm sure JP was calling the defensive calls on them.
  10. Agreed many posters look forward to Bill's "thoughts on the Game".
  11. I would nominate this play as one of the top 2 plays that may have cost us the game. Overturned or not, Jauron should have thrown the flag. It was too close to call and a very pivotal point in the game. The last thing I wanted to see was our coach just give up and give them the ball without so much as conversation with the Ref. I didn't really watch the replays at the time - I was too busy cussing everything and anything while throwing stuff around the living room. But, clearly his knee (and/or shin) was very close to being down. Not to mention, was the ball leaving his hand before he hit the ground with it? Both should have been looked at. Jauron gave up on the team, and I could say it looked like the team gave up on the game at that point.
  12. Agreed. I doubt we could get anything for him. It seems no team is desperate enough at QB to make the trade. I was just suggesting that it wouldn't upset me at all to see them trade him. But, you're right, I can't see anyone trading for him.
  13. You don't like the "stand back and let the guys catch the ball then blow one or 2 tackles" defense? It's been a staple in Buffalo for years and came back today in full force.
  14. I think that too many people are jumping on the bash JP bandwagon. This loss is squarely on the defense. They looked absolutely horrendous in all aspects. Bashing JP does nothing to address the problem with this loss. JP is the backup. He came in and looked like a backup. If he's cut tomorrow, quite honestly, it changes nothing that matters to this team's success this season. In many ways, I'd love to see him traded soon so that we at least get something before he walks after the season. I'm sure Chroise could have led our guys to just as bad a loss. Problem is and was... defense. For 4 consecutive weeks we've allowed teams to come out and get the early lead. What is Fewell going to do about that? That's my question.
  15. Sure good teams have bad days all the time. In the grand scheme of things this loss may mean little. Granted... it would have been nice to see a little more effort by the defense. But, no way do we press the panic button yet.
  16. I think we watched different games for the most part.
  17. I'm not sure I can say the 3rd play of the game was the turning point. I'd say it was somewhere in the 2nd quarter when we continually gave up 3rd and long on the slant, allowing the Cards to calmly march down the field and score at will.
  18. Do you really think our secondary could have looked worse?
  19. This loss is squarely and solely on the Defense. Period. End of Discussion. The friggin horrendous non-challenge by DJ was astounding though. What the hell is he saving the timeout for? They haven't stopped the Cards all day. Say what anyone wants about JP, but no way the defense wouldn't just let the Cards move right back down the field and score again. The Defense has absolutely sucked balls since the opening drive.
  20. Gus Johnson. He makes a kneeldown sound like the most exciting play of the day.
  21. Damn I was really wanting the Titans to lose.
  22. I'd love to see this body part conversion chart that the NFL has. I'm not sure he was in, nor that he had possession. Man its so much better watching those calls when its a non Bills game.
  23. I'm not so sure. I say give it to based on effort alone. Wow. It does stand. Definitely close.
  24. Exactly what I was thinking! Now Manning's about to get the go ahead score and steal this game.
  25. Holy cow! There's tonight's highlight play. Rosenfelds run on 3rd and 8, trys to hurdle a few Colt defender and gets helicoptered; loses the ball. Colts pick it up and run back for the score. Colts down by 3.
