May I remind you that JP has had his chance. Trent has now had his. It is now Hamdan time, baby!
-
I agree. So let's get his butt back on the field.
-
I would have pulled a Levy yesterday. By early 4th quarter nothing but 2nd and 3rd stringers would have been in the game. None of the starters seemed like they wanted to be in there anyway.
-
Agreed. Offensively, get a base set of personnel and run 75% of your offense out of it. Get rid of the Fullback. It's like we have 10 guys on offense, because I've yet to see him do anything. Same thing with the multiple Tight End sets. Again, you're just wasting positions with talentless players. On our typical run you have Lynch, Fullback, and 2 TEs. So now we're down to 8 guys blocking 11 with Lynch getting slammed. It's absurd. And just as you suggested, stop being so damn predictable. Use the no huddle a little to help establish a rhythm. Oh yeah, and go back to the original 5 linemen. Yeah fowler and Butler may suck, but they didn't suck as bad as Preston and Chambers or Preston and Whittle. Defensively, send guys blitzes more. We've tried dropping the LBs into coverage and what has it done? Nothing. They back up and players run crossing routes in front of them for guaranteed positive yards everytime. They might as well be rushing the QB. Screw all this zone crap. Man the guys up, pressure the QB with all the LBs and let schit fly. Yeah they'll give up a few big plays. But so what. Give up a long 9 minute TD or give up pa quick 2 minute TD, either way they score. Finally, call a few of the guys out and bench them next week. These guys are playing gutless, no heart football. Maybe give them an incentive - $1000 for every hit that makes a player drop the ball, $10,000 for every concussion they cause. Something.
-
Completely agree. They need to change the play calling up. I still find it dumbfounding that we're the only team in the league that has no idea what a slant pass is. 3 steps, hit a receiver slanting over the middle. How hard is that? Also, it may be hard to say or read, but... put Fowler back in there. Is it coincidental that the pass blocking and Trent's confidence have tanked since Fowler was replaced? Maybe. But it can't hurt to get him back in the game and find out. Lord knows Preston's not doing much either. So how much worse would it be?

Stat Time -- Max Number of Consecutive Losses
Dan replied to ChasBB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No offense, but what the crap are talking about? The Giants are the Superbowl Champs and they haven't lost 3 games all year, let alone 3 in a row. -
I wholeheartedly agree with every word of this post. Well said. It's this lack of effort that's most frustrating. It's one thing to get beat, but it's another thing all together to just give up without even trying. Kinda like the run game. Who knows how good it could be, but when you give Lynch 14 carries in an entire game you're not even trying. There was no need to abandon the run, but they did - again. I've given Jauron and the staff a lot of leeway, but it's wearing thin fast with piss poor efforts like this. I agree; I've not given up on the season yet. But, it's getting harder and harder to watch.
-
Exactly. Stopping the run isn't so much an issue. It's stopping a crossing route. Or a 3rd and 7, line up 10-15 yards off the line, let the WR catch the ball and tackle him after 10yds. Why with all these DB we can't play good press coverage is beyond rediculous.
-
What gets me is that you watch most other teams play and you see guys running all around, diving at the ball and hitting players. The WRs and RBs always look like they're running full speed. But watch the Bills lately.... if there's a tipped ball; none of the Bills players dive for it. The WRs seem to be jogging through their routes, no running. Half the tackles on defense, they're just chasing the guy out of bounds. There's just no fire. That game today looked like it was all but a walk through. Just sad really. You wait all week to see a good game and all you get is a half-hearted attempt by the players. There was once a thread about players that read this board. I wonder if any actually did, would they even care when they see a thread like this? Or would they react the same way they seem to do on the field and just give up reading after the first post? It's just sad.

All I hear is 2 old men rambling on about something while a game is being played. They have become the worst announcing crew in sports.

Crazy stat I got off BuffaloBills.com.......
Dan replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't need no stats to know we suck. -
Are you suggesting the Dline play Oline and the Oline playing on the Dline? Cause I like it.
-
Herm has Thigpen and ??? Lewis has Palmer and Chad and Housyermama.

Our last game of the season is going to mean something now......
Dan replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way this team shows up for big games... I expect nothing less than all the players to drop to the ground and assume the fetal position on the opening kickoff of that game. -
Yeah. Why not get the tie and try your luck in OT? I guess when you're 1-7 wins and loses don't matter.
-
Perhaps. But, today, the Bills certainly lacked heart. They looked apathetic at best. It's rare to see a team look so defeated from the 1st series on but this team looks completely demoralized playing against the Pats*.
-
What he said.

This is the problem, IMO. Everyone knows Wilfork is great at stopping the run, 2nd only to his ability to put elbows into guys knees and heads. So, what do we do... continually run right at him. Same thing last week with the Jets NT. Then to top it off, they completely abandon the run and try to put the game on the shoulders of a 2nd year QB. Then they completely abandon any attempts at passes down the field, so the entire defense is within 20 yards of the LOS. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. It doesn't help that every week they've got a different starting line, of course. It seems so simple, yet they're so unwilling to fix it.
-
Seems like the Jets did that to our defense just last week. I guess it happens quite frequently.
-
Hamdan Rocks!
-
And rather than show some fire and kick his ass, the Bills all walked over and apologized to Wilfork for making him hurt his elbow.
-
I'd say that about sums it up. These guys have no fire. No spirit. And no will to play hard. Gutless is how they looked to me. If they had have the desire to win as us fans watching the game, it wouldn't be so bad. But, once again, we have a huge game, in the division, could be in 1st place or 4th place at the end of the day, against a team you haven't beaten in 5 years - and what do they do? They lay a huge egg as the seemed more interested in getting some lobster chowder after the game than they did playing. In essence, cream puffy are how they played.

Time to throw some guys under the bus:
Dan replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yet its OK to throw Hardy, Ellis, and Poz under the bus? Double standard much. Look, we all want Trent to do well, but facts are facts. And the fact is, for the 3rd week in a row, he's played very below average. -
No. It was a very apathetic game from the Bills. They just looked like they could care less to win the game. This was one of the few game I got up mid-3rd quarter and started picking up. No sense watching such a gutless effort.
-
I knew Trent was going to have his good games and his bad games this year, but I hate to say it... he's on the cusp of having more bad than good though. 3rd week in a row he's looked unsettled, holding the ball too long, and missing receivers - not to mention the interceptions. At least he didn't fumble the ball. You can't have a run game when you don't even try to run the ball. The Bills looked defeated from the first drive on. Does this team ever play with intensity? I think this pissed me off the most. The Pats* and their fans seemed to be in cruise control and we were completely unable to do anything about it. It's almost as though they walk into that stadium ready to get back o nthe plane and leave. Just horrendous to see such a nonchalant, heartless performance.
