Nice to know the drinking doesn't end when the game is over. Rest up fellas, the sun will still shine tomorrow.

Rivers is currently averaging 254.8 yards/game. He's thrown for abotu 2.5 TDs/game (19 total). Apparently, we held him to below average numbers. I'd call that doing ok against him - not allowing him to pass at will. Fundamentally, I agree... our pass defense leaves quite a bit to be desired. I just don't think using Rivers' game is the best representation of that.

It seemed fairly trivial to me. My take was that Singletary was ripping him on the sideline about it and VD just kinda sat there with a "whatever" look on his face. Singletary walked away, then came back a few minutes later and said something to the effect of with that attitude he would do the team the best good in the showers.

I have to completely agree. I'm not sure exactly what we're missing, but it's amazing how average they look.

Trent should be benched for atleast one game
Dan replied to LoudSunday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good idea! That would teach the whole team a lesson. I say let's bench the whole team next week. -
I tend to agree with you. But... I'm not so sure. I think he's got a high probability of busting. Today's players don't seem to respond to the tough Coaches. I couldn't help but think he sounded a little Dennis Greenish to me. It'll be be interesting to see how the team responds. In his first game he benched the starting QB and sent his starting TE to the showers. Maybe the team has a serious discipline problem. I don't know. But he definitely made it clear as to who's calling the shots now.

Wow. Kicked Vernon Davis out of the game. Then says, I'd rather play with 10 guys on the field than have someone on the field that doesn't play for the team.

Food poisoning the night before will help. -
Hoorayyyy Hamdan!

Hey, get off my Dick! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

I find it interesting that most people will readily state that the Bills will be anywhere from 10-6 to 13-3 at the end of the year. Yet, somehow they think the Bills can achieve that record without losing any games.

Your last sentence was big, IMO and its not really been mentioned in the multitude of posts. Twice we stopped the Fins at about their 40 yard line and they punted! And both times their punter pinned us inside the 5. That was huge. Our special teams didn't help much today. Yes, we got a blocked FG, but the poor field position and the safety more than cancel that out, IMO.
-
Not that our pass defense was good today, but Rivers had his worst game of the season, if I recall correctly. 2 of the last 3 games we got shredded would be more accurate.
-
You call Lynch a dick for being happy after he made an astoundingly good touchdown run and wonder why I call you the comment a little extreme? Yes, the Bills blew it today, but to say they're dicks and acting cocky is a little much IMO.
-
Well, I'd say that's a little extreme.
-
I completely agree with you. Don't take my comments as a knock on him. We have serious problems running the ball with any consistency and why we can't cover better is beyond me. But, Trent missed a few throws early. To his credit he seemed to settle down, but then Miami got the pressure on him and forced a few mistakes. No way do I lay this loss squarely at his feet or suggest he shouldn't start. But, I stand by my early comment - Trent had a bad day.

2. I agree. It'll be a welcome sight to see #94 playing again. 5. I thought the same thing throughout the game. It was obvious that he was just not the same player. No way should McGee have been out there that much given the way he was being abused. 6. Agreed. Not sure we gain anything by cutting him now, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. 52 players +Royal or 52 players +anyone = What's the difference? 7. Agreed. I no longer look forward to our kickoff returns. 8. As I said in another post. Trent had a bad game. No way around it. In no way do I suggest he be benched. But, I think it healthy to acknowledge that he is fallible. I'm sure he'll rebound quite nicely next week. 9. At the time I thought... that was huge! It was a perfectly executed screen. He had 4 blockers and a lot of open field. We went from a huge gain to a punt just like that. Story of the game I guess. 11. Get well Josh.

I'd say no run game when we need it. And Trent Edwards. Yes, he had a bad game. In no way do I suggest he be benched. All QBs have bad games, especially 2nd year QBs. So, in no way should anyone panic and draw stupid conclusion. But, Trent did have a bad game. Maybe we should keep him off Sportscenter for a while? Of course, an honorable mention should go to McGee's complete lack of any ability to cover Ginn.
-
Agreed. Royal is establishing a nice record of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. McKelvin is rookie. Come on, that's all you need to say. Besides he wasn't the one making Ginn look like Randy Moss all day.
-
I'm all for jumping on this bandwagon. The sooner the better.
-
Trent is still a young QB and is going to have bad games. Everyone should expect it. He's not looking good, BUT we're still doing just enough to have a slim lead. I'll take that any day of the week. A bad game by all accounts for the Bills - and still winning. So no need to panic. Let's just hope they can continue to do just enough to get this win. Regroup and be back up next week.

I was just wondering... the NFL goes through this big deal about the NFL being in London. But, why do they have the game just mixed in with the rest of the lot on Sunday afternoon? Why not make it a Saturday or Thursday game? I guess the time difference has something to do with it. It just seems odd that there's this big game in London and as far as the coverage and viewing audience goes, it might as well be in NO. Maybe its more about the European fans and less about those of us on this side of the pond? EDIT: OK, screw this. They're delaying our kickoff to show me the National Anthem in London? Screw that game!
-
I would agree with him. Until we beat the Pats*, we're still looking up at them. Like it or not, they're 4-2. That's one game behind us. Beating them, IMO, will be the stamp that makes this team legitimate.

As a QB who does Edwards most remind you of
Dan replied to JimmyPage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. I have to remind myself sometimes that Trent is still very much learning the position. If you consider that most QBs take 2-3 years to really learn a system and play consistently, its amazing what Trent is doing with barely 16 starts under his belt. I would say it's also a testament to Jauron and Turk for designing a game plan that Trent can succeed in. They're really mixing in the run and pass (short and long) very well. I still expect Trent to have some rough patches. But considering we've played 6 games we're well into the stage where defenses have enough film to figure Trent's weaknesses out. So if he's still performing this well, that says quite a bit about his abilities and his future. -

I can see a HOF category. Good point. Definitely would be nice to have another Bill QB in that category! Speaking of the Scrambler. I rewatched the SD game today. And wow was Trent's scramble on 3rd and 7 for a first down big. He kept the drive alive that put us up for good when we absolutely needed it. The guy is definitely good on 3rd downs.
