What are you trying to say.... Trent's gay?

PFW audibles - quotes from NFL scouts/personnel people

I can completely agree with the frustration with this team. I think we're all frustrated. And, of course, we all want the same thing - the Bills winning a Super Bowl. However, is it really as bad as it appears? Should we really get rid of the entire FO, the entire coaching staff, and half the players as so many seem to suggest? Look at the flip side - the Jets. They spent what, about $160 million dollars last off season. They've drafted the center we all wanted. They got the QB that can save the world. A genius for a HC. Wow, now that's a FO set on winning! Hmmm... so why are they on the verge of not making the playoffs? And if they don't and Favre retires, where are they? I say be careful what you wish for. I'm definitely torn on our coaching staff and readily concede it is perhaps the biggest blunder of the FO. However, if we replace them, who do we bring in? Sure some teams do it and look great the next year (Miami, Baltimore, Atlanta), but it doesn't always work that way (Oakland, San Diego, Kansas City). So, again, I think some people need to be careful what they wish for. -
I was thinking... Why the hell can't they stop that safety blitz!!!! If I were an opposing team, I'd blitz like that every play. Because we've shown absolutely no ability to recognize it or do anything about it. Man was I cussing at that point!!

I truly don't understand this complete hatred of everything the Bills' FO does. For the last 3 years, the team has appeared to have a very clear direction and has methodically been putting pieces into place. We needed to cut aging verterans and change the attitude of the team in year 1; they did that. In year 2, we addressed the Oline in FA and draft our future QB and RB (all big problems in 2006). In year three, they address the middle of the defense through FA, draft 2 big WRs and draft for depth (all big problems in 2007). Perhaps, people just dislike all the players they bring in? But, you cannot deny that each year they've done a pretty decent job of assessing the team's weakness and working to strengthen that weakness through FA and the draft. All while keeping the Bills out of cap hell. Have we not strengthened the Oline? Have we not strengthened the middle of our defense? Have we not solidified the secondary? Have we not found our RB and QB of the future? Have we not added depth to the team? I say yes on all accounts. I fully expect we'll bring in DE help this offseason, a new OLB, a Center, and continue drafting for depth. Why? Because those are our glaring weaknesses. So, why is Brandon and the FO so horrible? Is it just because of Jauron? Is it because all of their decisions haven't been perfect? Why? I would offer that no one is perfect or hits 100% of the time. But, if people cannot see the progress this team has made, it's because they're just not looking. -
CB's deserves a lot of credit for the win yesterday...

A huge part of Cutler's bad passes can be directly attributed to pressure. Yes, we didn't sack him and I know that's all people care about; but we did manage to get pressure on Cutler with our blitzes. Why they don't blitz more, I'll never know. But, almost every time they got in his face, Cutler made a bad throw. The problem was that we spent too much time rushing 3 or 4 guys, dropping everyone into coverage, and Cutler like any descent QB, just stood back there and picked apart the zone. Hopefully, Fewell will wake up one day and realize that pressure on the QB is the best way to defend a good QB. Given our Dline, I'd suggest blitzing on 3 out of 4 plays next week. -
You could say the same thing about most all young QBs in the league. Cutler and Rivers, just to name 2 super stars, are unquestioned starters but have not much more to show for it this season.

No doubt. Just tryin to make a funny.

Watching that... maybe that's why McKelvin was smiling so much when he got off the plane in Denver?

Instead of sending a receiver in motion towards the O line...
Dan replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's painfully predictable. You see the WR go in motion, stop and bam... run the ball. How our coaching staff can't see this and know that every defender on the field sees it is beyond me? It seemed on a couple of runs, #51 for Denver was waving the secondary in to cover the run to one side or the other. If he didn't know the play before the snap, he's the luckiest SOB I've seen. -
Yeah. Now crayonz is going to have to start calling him a Michael Jackson wannabe Mary!
-
I can totally live with that. I definitely like the incentive package. One of my concerns with a me first player (and he seems to have those tendencies) is that once they get their bug contracts, they suddenly become quite average. Of course, another route is the overall big contract that's heavily back loaded. Players don't seem to like that, and neither do I. But, it seems like an option a lot of teams use.

He looked to have a glove on his left hand, but his throwing hand was naked as a jay bird.
-
I'd suspect that if they offer him top 15 money, he sits out again. Maybe they can settle on top 10.
-
2 more years, I believe. Brings up an interesting point. I say sign the guy and be done with it. But, is there a price that would be too high? Should Peters get top 5 money? top 10? More importantly, perhaps, what does he think he deserves?
-
Agreed. Our biggest problem for 2 years running with regards to the DEs is that neither Kelsay or Denney are or should be full time starters. But due to injuries, they are.
-
Of course, I'm hopeful for the Bills to win. But, but... wouldn't it be kinda of sweet to see the Pats* win and go to 11-5, only to miss the playoffs because the Fins win. How many 11-5 teams don't make the playoffs? That'd be a nice way to follow up an 18-1 season and not winning the SuperBowl - go 11-5 and not make the playoffs.

And the game ball goes to...

I voted Jackson. But, defensively, let's not forget McGee. He had some pretty good pass breakups and his run down of Royal from behind saving the big touchdown ended up in a FG and a 10-0 lead. If Denver scores a TD, its likely a completely different game. -
About 20 yards less than he needed to.
-
Agreed. I was really hoping Trent would get healthy and play these last two games. So far so good. It's very important, IMO, to go into the off season with zero questions about the most critical position on the field. One more decent week and we can do that.
-
Interesting how much we didn't miss Peters today. The guy's good, we should extend him, but he needs to get his head on straight.

More similarities between Buffalo and Detroit
Dan replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, you should. You'll live longer. There'll be plenty of time for us all to bash the FO and Ralph in January and Feb. But we only have one week to enjoy this win. -
Well, I'm a HUGE part of the problem then. Because I love this win!
-
Agreed. At this point, I'd easily move him above Roscoe on the depth chart.
-
IMO, they outplayed the Jets last week. If not for one of the dumbest play calls of the season, followed up with completely piss poor all around execution, we would have won that game.
