  1. Just because those may be his beliefs, it does not mean that those are a potential new owner's beliefs. So until Ralph finds a potential new owner that shares his beliefs, he's decided not to sell.
  2. But his point is valid, none the less. Cut Ralph a check for a billion dollars and save us all. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe Ralph looked and and was unable to find someone with the money and the commitment to keep the team in Buffalo?
  3. I honestly can't remember the last time the Bills played with even a fraction of the intensity that either of these teams is displaying.
  4. Some disagree about this Maybin fella.
  5. True. But, who's opinion is more important? The people that actually vote or the people (like us) that just talk about votes. The fact remains the HOF voters thought at one point in time that Al Davis was notable enough to be worthy of HOF induction. If he gets in, there's no rational explanation for Ralph's exclusion. So, until someone comes out and says All Davis (and a few others) was a mistake, I think you have to weigh would be inductees accomplishments against current members.
  6. I would suggest that Peyton's post season (lack of) success is directly comparable to Marino's. The Dolphins fell in love with the arm of Marino and relied almost solely on his passing ability. In much the same way, the Colts rely entirely too much on the passing of Peyton. Although good enough to get them a great number of wins, the really good teams are able to develop a game plan that neutralizes any one player. When you get to the playoffs, more often than not, you're facing really good teams. Pressure Manning and throw off his timing and what do the Colts have? Not much. A very, very average run game and a very, very average defense. For all the greatness of Polian and the Colts, they're not nearly balanced enough and they've continually relied too much on Peyton's throwing to win games. The Dolphins never gave Marino a solid defense or running game and he won zero Super Bowls. You could add Elway to this conversation, as well. How well did he do in the big games until Davis got there? Give Manning a better balanced team and I would almost guarantee he "chokes" less.
  7. The HOF voters disagree.
  8. "Toyota, which makes the Prius gas-electric hybrid and Camry sedan, expects 50 billion yen ($555 million) in net profit, down from 1.7 trillion yen earned the previous year." Source Not making enough money or not making any money? I love how businesses do math. Wish I only made $555 million last year.
  9. I don't watch a lot of college ball. But, why can't the NFL handle the play reviews the same way? It seems soooooo much better and quicker. Decent start by Buffalo, but the QB is looking shakey. Jitters or par for his game?
  10. Duke Preston took over at Center in week 7 (Oct. 19). Give a few weeks for gelling with the other linemen, and is it a convenient coincidence that the run game improved in the last 2 months of the season with a different Center.
  11. For me, at least, I'll disagree. What makes the current state of the Bills so dismal is... we all know what the primary problem on this team is. The coaching staff is woefully inadequate. Yet, the team is taking no steps to correct the problem. Personally, I can deal with the team being bad. I can handle multiple losing seasons. I can take all sorts of crushing defeats - hell I'm a life long Bills fan. However, I expect that each year they're taking some measures to correct the problem. If they don't get it right or new problems surface, yeah it sucks. But, at least they tried to get better. But when the entire football world sees how inept our coaching and game planning are, and there's no change in that, well, what hope is there? I guess Jauron et al. could defy all odds and suddenly find a clue. But, that's not so much hoping they get better as it is just praying for dumb luck. So, for me, it's not so much that we suck; but more a case of we suck and we're not going to address the problem so deal with it.
  12. 40 and been a "confirmed" fan since the mid 80's (throughout the 70's I watched but mostly because my parents did and I had no choice). Let me ask a related question. What kind of start to next season would make you feel good? If the Bills start out 3-0 or 4-0 again, can anyone really think that they're starting a playoff run? I find it hard to look at this team with any hope or optimism. So, what will it take to make me think we're on a playoff run next season? I really don't know, but I doubt I'll believe it until I actually see a little symbol beside the Bills name that denotes "clinched playoff spot". I will forever follow the Buffalo Bills, but I have no illusions that they'll resemble a professional NFL team any time soon. Sucks.
  13. I would be very astounded to learn that Jauron goes into any game with any sort of plan whatsoever. The haphazard fashion in which plays are called, in which players wander around the field waiting for a call, the complete lack of any adjustments to any opponents, and the befuddled look of players and coaches alike can only lead any one with any knowledge of football to wonder what he hell this team does spend its time on all week. I could only hope Jauron read this board. Perhaps he'd learn something. Because I'm 100% certain that there are more than a few posters here that could coach this team better.
  14. Life sucks and then you watch the Bills.
  15. (i'll take care of that) Yeah. That's what is so tough for me. I've had hope that Jauron could put it all together. But, watching the decline this season, just beat it into my stubborn head that he doesn't possess the necessary skills to turn this team around. It's not evevn so much that we lost, but more so how we lost. The looks of confusion, the poor decisions, the poor play designs (I just expect poor play calling), the poor ... . hell everything. Perhaps, I'm wrong. We'll see, I suppose.
  16. No. I have all the confidence in the world that the Bills will sign several free agents and address the team's area of need. I doubt it'll be Haynesworth (for various reasons most not related to Ralph), but they'll bring in guys. They've shown they'll address the areas of need in the off season. But, so what. With the same coaching staff, so what. They brought in Mitchell. He's a good LB at stopping the run and rushing the passer. So we drop him back in coverage. They brought in big offensive linemen - good for blowing guys off the LOS. So we have them stunting and pulling themselves right out plays. There's is absolutely no reason to believe that they'll suddenly realize how to use the talent they have on this team.
  17. I truly don't think that's possible.
  18. As of this time yesterday, I would have agreed. I've sat here, somewhat quietly, on the HC bashing because I had a quite confidence that Ralph would do what we all know so obviously needs to be done - replace the head coach. I was truly hopeful that Russ could convince him that rather than spend $10mill on a single player, let's spend that money on a new HC, but that was sheer hope. But, that's all vanished into the ether of a cold night. So what are we to conclude? Ralph just doesn't care anymore. Honestly, can anyone even suggest that he's watched this team this year and thinks the coaching staff is on the right track? So, short of a 1-15 year next year, why should any of us believe Ralph will suddenly know its time to cut the HC loose? And even if he does, we're just expected to waste a year verifying what seems so apparent? I really, really want to be wrong and have Jauron and the team succeed next year. But, for the first time as a Bills fan, I truly feel hopeless. So this is what we're left with? Hoping the coach hears the negative fan reaction and decides to do the right thing and admit he's in over his head. I can't. Hope is truly lost for this one fan. I'll still sit here and watch this team, but hoping for nothing. Just watching in bewilderment. Yes, there will be a next year.. but so what.
  19. This is an interesting point. If we can assume that the posters on this board are a fair representation of the larger fan base, then Wilson has done what no player has done since Kelly - unite the fan base. The only problem? Everyone is united in their complete and bitter hatred of the head coach. I'm not sure that's the unity you want. Also, I think we can assume that the shock and awe of this extension will diminish as the off season progresses. However, there's a very real possibility that a significant portion of the fan base will remain completely disheartened and bitter. The result? No sell outs and a lot of booing at the first hint of a bad decision. Can you imagine week 1, 2009, and a time out being called in the first quarter? At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see the fans rush the field with pitchforks. It certainly brings up an interesting scenario. Jauron and the players have, for the most part, had the loyal support of the fan base. One has to wonder how they'll handle the pressure of constant boos and the rejection of the fan base. If they handle it like they have most pressure games, I expect the majority will be on IR before training camp.
  20. Excellent article. There was an idea to get a Billboard, I'd say take out a 1 page add in several newspapers and run this article.
  21. What I find most depressing about this non-move is the lack of hope that it leaves us with. You're right the record doesn't really matter... 2-14 or 9-7... what's the difference? We're not making the playoffs, we're not trying to make the playoffs, we're just going through the motions. Honestly, I had held out hope all season that Jauron could turn things around, that the players could turn things around. But that last game was abysmal. We didn't belong on the same field as the Pats* and not because out players sucked, but because we were so woefully under prepared and out coached. If Jauron had shown any ability whatsoever to improve, I might feel differently. But, he hasn't. He just hasn't. So what are we left with? Not much.
  22. Thanks. I really need a reason to laugh. Although I didn't really laugh, it did make me consider it.
  23. No... I really don't think we can. Hope is useless.
  24. Thank you. It all sucks. We know. We ALL agree. But, there's limits to any amount of sucktitude and wishing the death of anyone is just .. wrong.
