  1. Jauron is that you? Seriously though, I don't know much about the Saints offense other than they're scoring points at will the first 2 weeks. Keeping Brees on the bench would certainly be a good thing to do. However, I'm not sure the no huddle is what's causing our defense to play so much the first 2 games. So, I'll say "no" to scrapping the no huddle. Mostly because I don't think that, in and of itself, will sustain long drives. Offensively, I'd say run first, pass second is typically how you control the clock and the tempo of the game. But, without Lynch it remains to be seen if we can run a ball control, grind it out, offensive game plan. But, I'd try. Defensively, my first thought is to blitz the heck out of Brees. But, as other postes have pointed out, he responded to the blitz pretty effectively this week. So, maybe that's not the answer? I guess I'd look at the first 2 games and do the exact opposite of what the Lions and Eagles did. In short, the Saints are a scoring machine right now. I have no idea how our defense can stop them. By far, the weakest link on our team has been the pass defense which bodes poorly for the Bills. Maybe the weather helps? Maybe Brees is due a poor game? Maybe Perry has a trick up his sleeve? It's gonna be great or horrible to watch.

  3. I like Roscoe as much as the next guy, but lets be realistic... he's a marginal player in our offense. If we can trade him for a decent and, more importantly, a contributing player at a position of need (tackle or LB, currently); I'm all for it. If it were for a draft pick, I guess I'd have to see what the pick is and what we do with it. Good teams trade marginal players with a highly perceived value when the can. Bottom line, if his departure helps us get a player that contribute more frequently, it's only good for the team.
  4. The power of TBD! Please use it responsibly.
  5. Maybe it's not a surprise, but that does not mean it was deserved either. A person has his possessions in their house (presumably with locked doors), in a gated community and if all your possessions are not further locked in safes you deserve to be robbed? Stupid.
  6. Agreed that was a huge decision and play. It was so completely anit-Jauron that I wondered if he was at the bathroom. I was hoping he'd go for it just because its something he's never done before.
  7. Absolutely incorrect. A short FG is usually considered sure points. Running a play is where you have fumbles, interceptions, injured players, changes in momentum, etc. Yes, bad things can happen on a FG attempt, but the odds are far more likely that a short FG is going to result in 3pts. I had no problem with the decision. Get off the field with a positive drive that ended in points. Stretch the lead to 2 touchdowns. All positive things. Go for it and don't make it... its a touchdown and FG game and their getting momentum. All negative things.
  8. Excellent points. Perhaps all the young players are finally coming into their own? The Ellison comment sticks out to me though. Our linebackers typically begin running away from the LOS as fast as they can as soon as the ball is snapped. They get out of position and seem to always arrive late to the play. In the MNF opener and especially yesterday, Perry had Ellison and Mitchell blitzing the passer and generally running toward the LOS with most snaps. And, IMO, they both looked considerably better. I really hope he's come to the realization that our LBs are not good in coverage. Send them after the QB (taking out the RB along the way) and let all those highly drafted DBs earn their checks. Call it whatever defense you want, but its been considerably more effective - at least to my eyes.
  9. What are all those people doing milling around that big entrance to the stadium? Don't they go to watch the game?
  10. Agreed. I can even live with the INT. All QBs throw them. But you have to make the defense play the whole field. That's what the long ball does for you.
  11. With all due respect, prior to this game Trent did everything possible to earn that nickname. Fortunately, he and AVP made it an emphasis to throw the ball deep today and it clearly worked. Not only did it help us today, but it'll give teams a lot more to think about in the coming weeks. Just as all Defensive Coord.s have to think about screens to Jackson, now they have to consider long balls to TO and Evans. It was a great game plan. I especially liked the considerable use of 5 receivers/empty back field in the 4th. It worked quite well.
  12. Screw sending Mitchell into coverage - just send him after the QB all game long. He put some serious heat on Leftwitch today!
  13. Sorry, but that was all on Jackson. He's played a great half, but... It was a good call, Fred just gave it away - literally.
  14. I really hope Perry watches this game. The Jets are all over Brady and he looks extremely average.
  15. So, Leodis was the only guy on defense those last 2 series? He was beaten in coverage on both of those TDs? Isn't it the coaches job to remind players of the situation and tell them what to do? Not to mention, there's absolutely no certainty the Bills would have run the clock out. With 3 dive plays and 4 time outs, they could have easily punted with plenty of time for a last second score to the TE.
  16. Great! I'll be watching. Why not stop at a WalMart and get a power inverter so you can plug your laptop in??
  17. And people wonder why there's such a national negative stigma associated with Buffalo. It's moments like this that I realize Bills fans really aren't any better than fans elsewhere; in fact, they could be worse. So what makes a crushing defeat on MNF worse? Well... this is a good start. Just sad.
  18. Thank you. Not to mention, he was playing in his first ever NFL game AND against one of the better O-lines in the game. He's got a long way to go, certainly. But did anyone notice who was right there making sure Brady didn't roll out to his right when Schobel got his sack? Yep, Maybin. He's showing a knack for being around the QB, which is pretty good for now.
  19. Exactly. This is just horribly bad taste. So much for supporting the team. They played their asses off last night and came up a point short against one of, if not the, best team in the league and that's the welcome home they get? Just sad.
  20. I was giddy. The Bills had finally done what I've been screaming for years for them to do. They took control of a game in the 4th quarter. But, even before the ensuing kickoff, I began praying. Because, as we all know, this is the Bills and I knew if anyone could blow an 11pt lead with 5 minutes left, it would be the them.
  21. Agreed. Bell looked rough at times and had a few bad penalties. But lets not forget, he also got the least amount of playing time during the TC and Preseason due to not being named the starter and having the back injury. He's been practicing with the starting line for what.. a week? So, you have to expect him to look pretty rough last night. It'll be really interesting to see how/if he progresses over the next couple of weeks.
  22. Well there ya have it... we have to scrap this cover 2 crap. Sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
  23. 1st quarter. Pats* 2nd drive was 13 plays, 6 mins, resulted in missed field goal. 2nd quarter. Pats* 4th drive was 14 plays, 7 mins, resulted in touchdown. Pats* 6th drive (5th one was Schobel's pick 6) was 10 plays, 3.5 mins, resulted in fieldgoal (and halftime). So, half of their 1st half drives were long. And their 1st and 3rd drive was stopped on 4th down. Pretty much bad 3rd down play. My point, being if they could have stopped 2 of those drives short, the TOP is vastly improved for Buffalo. They've got to improve their 3rd down defense. The defense can do a lot to help with their late game fatigue all on their own if they could just stop the other offense once in a while. It's just that simple.
  24. If the defense could stop a 3rd down play, they'd be a lot less tired in the 4th quarter. How many long drives did the Pats* have, that the Bills' defense let them have because they can't breakup a 3rd down pass when everyone knows its a pass?
  25. Put a cast on Poz's arm with a steel plate in it. Let him go rip people's heads off!
