  1. Rock solid.... and concerning.
  2. Good points. Upon thinking about it, maybe its an "insurance policy" against some freak accident over the summer as well.
  3. Completely spectacular. Thanks. Seriously, I don't know if there's a market to sell these photos to the various news outlets, but there should be. Some of these are better than anything you'll see in the papers. Just another shining example of why this site rules while all others drool.
  4. I think all posters here need to take note of BillsVet's post. Perhaps no one here has been more critical of the FO this offseason, often with good reasoning. If he's not blaming the FO yet, none should. I very much agree. There's much more to this than just the FO. The players have agents that can slow things down considerably for any number of reasons. I fully expect to see everyone signed at some point over the next few days. If not, then... My question though... why do things like this always seem to come down to the last minute? Are the teams and agents nothing but procrastinators? Is it really that complicated that it takes 4 months to get worked out? Just seems that if everyone started working to sign the rookies the day after the draft, it seems like it should be worked out by now.
  5. Watch Owens' comments on bb.com; then read that article. Great example of someone making a mountain out of a mole hill. Owens was asked, even pushed, to offer comments on Vick. Then you get articles like this.
  6. Please delete the above post.
  7. Exactly. Sometimes we have to celebrate the small successes in life.
  8. Incorrect assessment. One accurate report does not undo the multitude of inaccurate posts. Its fairly standard to state your source when posting a rumor or scoop. Would it be so hard to preface any scoop with... "I read on another board..." or "After reading this (link), its my opinion that..." or "I talked to a friend in the FO, and they said..." or "I have a gut feeling that..." Folks like JW and TG can post "scoops" as factual with little supporting statements because they're credentialed writers paid to get this information. I have no evidence to think you are. Hence, just provide some idea as to where you're getting your inside information from and much of this discussion goes away. However, realize that if half or more of your scoops are from stuff you've read on other boards and are ultimately wrong, all your posts will be scrutinized. Ask any reporter what happens when they get just one story wrong, let alone the majority of their stories. Finally, I'd add; it was nice to see you post the scoop in an existing DiGi thread. At least that's progress.
  9. Holy crap! You, sir, rock. Absolutely excellent!
  10. I have no idea of the legalities behind it all. I would guess as long as they're not harming their clients its legit? But, if there is truth to it; it certainly points to the benefits of a player getting on HGH and a good training program to prolong/improve their career.
  11. I think it important for people to remember that. Watching the NFL.com video (I think?) about Maybin yesterday, that is exactly what they said. His agent likes to move slow and wait for the guys around his guy to be signed. Hence, they didn't think Maybin would be in camp very soon. So, regardless of what the Bills FO wants or does, if the agent wants to wait... they'll all wait. And for the player, they'd be wise to sit quietly and take their agent's advice.
  12. Benefits of HGH and training or photoshop? Youthfulness an American Obsession You can look good too. Cenegenics
  13. Saweetness is all I can say. Thanks. But, has Poz's right leg been in a cast or what?
  14. Didn't he miss all of last season too? 2 years of no football, probably factored into the decision.
  15. Thanks for the initial "heads up". Although, if you really want to have some fun, you should PM Skoobs the scoop and let him post it. No one would believe him anyway. Seriously, its posters of your stature that make this board the great place that it is.
  16. If he brings the heat, we'll bring the popcorn.
  17. Definitely know what you mean. I've been telling everyone that TO is gonna set the league on fire. Of course, I don't really believe it and I'm fairly certain they know I don't either. But, all's fair in trash talking. I figure that I better get all my bragging and talking in while I can. It's usually mid Octoberish before that's no longer an option. So, yeah, I love the preseason.
  18. Actually, I haven't. Just looked into it though and looks like a great read. Thanks! Just spent the day calling friends around the country (in between work calls), getting the preseason trash talking going. Low but the Fin fans are truly delusional.
  19. Yeah... what he^ said!
  20. Can it be that I have survived? I awoke this morning to see a plethora of fresh articles on TBD. And like the relief of weary traveler emerging from a desert to see an oasis of hope within reach, I gazed upon TBD glistening with anticipation. Yes, the offseason is long. But, the season now sparkles on the horizon. Training camp starts tomorrow. HOF is within a couple of weeks. I have coffee in hand and the seed of hope in my heart. Yes, today is a good day because I know tomorrow will be better. Go Bills!
  21. I understand what you're trying to say, but this is a completely different scenario. He didn't make a bad decision and then have some bad luck. He made a multitude of conscious decisions to live a dual life of organized crime. Granted, maybe not on the level of the mafia. But, organized criminal activity for years, none the less. Sure we've all done some dumb things in our lives and hope for forgiveness. But, I'd say Vick's transgressions are a little more deliberate and, therefore, a little harder for some to forgive. Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to judge or forgive him. I figure that's for someone other than me. I'm just trying to wrap my brain around what's best for a silly little sport like football.
  22. Good find. I hadn't recalled all those details. That certainly changes my opinion somewhat; to see that the league actually said he was suspended indefinitely and they would revisit at the end of his legal proceedings (i.e. jail sentence). I'm still not sure I like the idea of jail time being considered as part of your suspension. As others have suggested, I view a suspension as being barred from the game when you're legally and physically capable of playing. Otherwise, it's kinda like taking the easy way out. You mentioned the perception earlier and as I see it, the perception is he hasn't been suspended, he's been in jail. That may not be reality, I agree. So, if you're in the hot seat how do you reconcile that perception with the reality? IMO, you give him a year. I see it kinda like the Pats*. The reality is Goodell gave out the biggest fine he had ever given out when they cheated. The perception, however, is that he coddled them and brushed it off (at least in this fan's mind). A 4 game suspension for the coach, IMO, would have helped to balance the perception to the reality a little more. I know Vick probably should be cleared to play again, whether it be this year or next. But, I really don't envy Goodell in this situation. He's going to be crucified by all sorts of activist groups the moment he's reinstated regardless of the time frame. On the other hand, if he doesn't reinstate, he probably gets the NFLPA coming down on him.
  23. Well, there ya go again. Ruining perfectly good baseless discussions with facts. Thaaanks. I'll still contend that I think Vick deserves more than 4 games, but I'll withdraw my "Goodell is a tool" statements for the time being.
  24. Very good points. But, the NFL is completely different from the court system. Remove the prison sentence for a second, how many players are suspended with no jail time? They plead, the court gives them community service, yet the league determines their behavior warrants more than just community service - it deserves multiple games suspension. So, in this case, the league has only decided the behavior is worth an additional 4 games. At least that's how I see it. I thought the Falcons cut him or suspended him and went after his pay? Not so much a league action, but a team action. I could easily be wrong though. Yeah, huge assumption any of us - myself included - read the article. Personally, I try to read as little as possible.
  25. I agree, Goodell has to deal with facts and real world scenarios. But I still don't see how you can argue that he's been suspended from the league for the past 2 years. The league didn't suspend him at all. They routinely said it was a mute point to discuss because he was in jail. OK, my initial analogy was poor. Let's say, Vick took it to trial. And spent the last two years fighting it in court. He wouldn't have been able to play because he would be too busy in court. Yesterday, the judge declares mistrial. Do you allow Vick to play tomorrow? Maybe that's bad ananlogy. I don't know. My point is, at some point the league needs to acknowledge what he did and dish out an appropriate punishment. If you're giving other guys 4 weeks for misdemeanor drug charges, how can you call this fair? Are they going to say, we think he's been punished enough? What is the perception of that statement?
