  1. A fan, by the very definition of the term, can not root against ther team. Yes, the Bills blow. Yes, they've blown for quite a few years. Yes, the HC should have been fired 2 years ago. Yes, the owner needs to spend big money on a new HC. Yes, this team will suck the very life from your soul. But, none of that matters. They're still the BUFFALO Bills. I'll watch every game possible. I'll be a little happy when they win. Depressed when they lose. Why? Because I'm a fan. When you cheer against a team or you no longer watch the games or follow the team, you're no longer a fan - period. You're just another person who occasionally watches. A fan is there through the thick and thin (granted it's nano fiber thin right now); not just when the team is doing well or doing things they like. Yes, complain. Yes, boo when they screw up on the field. Yes, find voice your displeasure. But, cheering against the team - hoping they lose - regardless of the rationalization is not what a real fan does.
  2. IMO, this is the single biggest problem with the offense. Many of the line problems could be masked if Trent would just throw the ball. If the WRs are running routes that take 5 seconds to develop, then, yes, there's a larger problem. However, I'm not sure that's the case. At least not on every pass play. Trent needs to drop back and throw. I can only guess that he's unable to read a defense and make the decisions fast enough or he's just scared to throw. Either way, until he figures it out, we're screwed.
  3. Most people want to do something in their life that's important or maybe makes an impact in the lives of others. Some even aspire to trying to make the world a better place. Well, SDS, you've done exactly that. Thank you for having a vision and the motivation and talent to bring that vision to all of us. As much as the Bills send me, and many a fan, into the dark depths of dispair, there is no better place than TBD to come and get the best Bills' news and complain about that news (or lack of news in the case of HC firings). Without a doubt, you've created and continue to improve upon, the absolute best website and news outlet for Bills fans. My life would be less without it. Thank you. Dan
  4. What I find most interesting is the notion that this is some kind of "must win" for Jauron and the Bills. Yes, it'll be sad beyond words to lose to an 0-4 teaam after you lose to an 0-3 team. OK. But, let's just say we win this week. Does that suddenly change things? Do we all come in here on Monday and post that Jauron just saved his job? Hip hip hooray, we just beat a winless team at home! So what. IMO, this weekend's game is about as meaningless as a preseason game. I still haven't even decided if I'll watch it. I actually have something to do on Sunday. Normally, I'd postpone it for football. However, should I really do that just to watch a worthless game that the Bills will most likely (given their last 3 years performance) come out flat and uninspired. It's a sad day, indeed, when I'm actually put in this position by a coach and team that are as listless as any I've ever seen. ing Jauron. But, back to my original point... win or lose, does it really matter? This team needs fresh air and a win over one of the worst teams in the league is not it.
  5. Pretty much what I got out of it too. Just pathetic.
  6. I don't know if it's quitting on your coach or your coach quitting on your team but when you here quotes like this: "More than a few players felt that their play was lacking passion and intensity." “It seemed like we were a little flat,” said Williams. “I know late in that fourth quarter I definitely got relaxed... ,” said Jonathon Scott. Source bb.com Either way it's pretty pathetic to read comments like this from the players. Apparently, not only do the players have no problem giving up on a game, but they have no problem letting everyone know they quit.
  7. If it takes the death of someone for this franchise to turn around... well then may I watch an 0-16 team every year. I've posted more in this type thread than I ever intended, so I'll say no more about it. Other than, it's truly a disgrace what this fanbase is becoming. And that is perhaps the most troubling outcome of the last few years.
  8. Just noticed that you dont have BIlls 16-3 in your sig line. Does that mean even you have lost hope for the season? Say it ain't so.
  9. Can we, please, make it a new Board Policy that any thread started that wishes for the death of someone or quotes someone else wishing for the death of someone to be deleted immediately? Please. I haven't read the rest of this thread and won't. I'm exercising my right to ignore it. However, it still sits there on the board and it's highly distasteful and just plain wrong to see a thread openly wishing for the death of someone, especially the one man responsible for the last 50 years of football in Buffalo. My suggestion for all those that want to see Ralph pass that are sick of seeing this team on the field; find another team. It would be far more tasteful and do less damage to your soul.
  10. It's amazing what a substandard QB can do for a WR. Look no further than Cutler. Last year Eddie Royal comes out of no where and has a great year with Cutler as his QB. This year with Orton, he's got 8 catches for 58 yards (7.3 avg) and zero TDs. Transition to Chicago, with Cutler, another unheard of rookie (Johnny Knox) is the all the rage with 14 catches for 190 yards (13.6 avg) and 2 TDs. So is it a coincidence or is it having a good QB? So before we all rag on Evans, let's first ask the very basic question, does he have an NFL caliber QB throwing to him? Taking the good with the bad, I think we all have to conclude that the book is still very much out on Edwards. He may be good one day, but I find it hard to believe anyone can call him good now. Perhaps its all the O-line. I could see that. But, with regards to Evans, it doesn't change the argument. He has a QB throwing the ball to him that looks scared at best. Fix the QB (either with a new Oline with a new player) and perhaps then we can discuss what the WRs are doing.
  11. I'm thinkin the only solution is to build a new stadium, but instead of one of those fancy retractable roofs, we create a vacuum. Maybe they need the absence of any type of atmospheric influence to perform adequately.
  12. I wouldn't' called it veiled at all. He's saying what we all are - he's just not using words like "Dick" and "sucks".
  13. Because the biggest problem with this team is they're not moving forward. We've had the same regime now for roughly 3-4 years. We have no more depth than we did when Jauron got here. So, once the starters get injured, which they always do, the guy off the bench is unable to contribute effectively - except in very rare circumstances, i.e. Fred Jackson. The defensive scheme is still just as pathetic as it was in day one. The players are still making the same mistakes, still playing too soft in their zones, still guessing as opposed to knowing. The offense is still without an identity. We don't run well. We don't pass well. We just go out run some plays and hope the defense gives us enough to get a few first downs. Our coaching staff still doesn't make any adjustments, what so ever. They still look listliss and confused for the most part. Jauron still makes at least 2-3 idoitc calls per game that cost us. He's still content with just seeing these guys try. Oure "franchise" QB, Trent, has not progressed one bit since his rookie year. All the good things we saw in those first few games are still there; but he's not gotten better at any of them. He's still slow to read the defense, hesitant to throw the ball to WRs, and not taking charge of the team. Defenses have figured him out; but he's still seeing new things from 3-4 defenses. So every year, we make a few moves here, a few changes there. We cut a little. Add a little. But in the end, the net is still the same - we've gone no where. It's reflected in the win/loss record. It's reflected in the play on the field. It's reflected in the player's press conferences. It's reflected in the fan's discussions about the team. It essentially permeates every aspect of this team. This franchise has become a stagnant pool of mediocrity. And, quite honestly, I don't think anyone at One Bills Drive cares.
  14. Not that I want to give anyone on this team credit for anything, but does that somewhat coincide with Whitner getting injured? Could it be that he's as important to our defense as Troy is in Pittsburgh or Sanders is in Indy? If so, perhaps he's not the total waste of a pick like so so often suggest.
  15. Good point. I guess it would be good to see which players are potentially worth keeping as well.
  16. Why should we as fans care when it seems no one in the organization cares? So, yep, Jauron has pretty much sucked the life from us all.
  17. I see the logic, but does it matter if Jauron is fired now or later? There's no way we hire a good coach mid season. So, we get April or someone like that to finish the season. Wooo. That does nothing for me. I don't know; I guess I just don't really care much because I can't see anything really helping this team anytime soon. Maybe we could have a fan voted "coach of the week" each week. At least that would be interesting.
  18. Let me ask this... does it really matter if we lose or win next week? If we win, is anyone really going to point to it and say.. see we're on the right track? A win would simply mean they somehow mananged to not completely suck for a week. But in no way can I see it changing the way any rational person sees this season ending.
  19. Duh... have you seen this team make ANY in game adjustments? No. So, if Fitz comes in, who receives the plays from AVP and relays them in to the QB?
  20. Count me in. Absolutely no way he could be worse. In Chroise we trust!
  21. Did you watch the game today? I'm guessin not.
  22. This game was brutally bad. Absolutely nothing of value came out of it. Nothing. I record all games as I watch them. I hit the stop and delete by mid second quarter.
  23. People on ludes should not post.
  24. I'm certain that in the Bills locker room they have turkey sandwiches and warm milk while listening to Sarah McLachlan B sides. No way anyone comes out that flat, that often.
