My sister gave me a framed picture of us at the HOF enshrinement this past August, with the Bills helmets (old school and new school) on the bottom along with the date and enshrinee names. We had a great trip and that was an awesome present.

Major rebuilding project ahead for the Bills
Dan replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, that is a pessimistic spin. However, the flip side is... things may be better than you think. Yes, the Bills need a starting QB. But, perhaps Brohm has matured and learned something sitting on the sidelines. Perhaps he becomes a decent starter. Perhaps there's one or more FA pickups this offseason that give us a decent starter while a yong draft pick matures. Maybe we only need 1 offensive tackle. In the very limited time that Butler played at RT, he seemed good. Maybe with w decent training staff he finally stays healthey for a full season. And with Bell or Merideth as backups, perhaps we havea little depth there. So, draft the top LT in the draft and a big hole is filled. OK. so we need an upgrade at 1 LB position. Seems like one draft pick could solve that. Maybin is no more of a potential bust than any other rookie that recieves limited playing time. He could just as easily be a potential super star. So, maybe we give him some time to develop? Even with Schobel's possible retirement, a decent FA or draft pick and it could be lessened. Hardy, again, is just as much a potential Super star as he is a bust. He's gotten almost zero playing time; so who knows how he'll perform when actually given a chance. So, Owens leaves. Who cares? Reed may be a FA, but why can't he be re-signed? All the severe injuries (Wood, Butler, Mitchell, and McGee) should heal perfectly fine and the players be ready to excel next year. Wood is the only one I miht be concerned about, but all indications are that it was a clean break and he should recover fine. The team certainly needs upgrades at several positions (DE, LB, DT, OL). But, with a new GM/C won't that be their job to find those replacements? Is that any different than abotu 28 other teams in the league every offseason? Who's not looking to upgrade 3 or 4 positions on their team? Ralph has given every indication that he intends to hire a real GM and HC this offseason and completely revamp the FO, if needed. Let's see how that plays out. We could see the hirings of several individuals that overhaul our scouting department ans set this franchise up for years of continued success. Are my views overly optimisitic? No more than yours are overly pessimistic, IMO. -
I think it was JP in Houston, 2007ish.

What is this nonsense, Fitzpatrick gametime decision?
Dan replied to Mr. T's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you. We finally have a headcoach that doesn't tip his hand to the opponents. It's what every coach in the league does. Just like last week, there was talk of TO possibly not playing. Now you get, Fitzy may start. As small and insignificant of an advantage as it may be, Perry is at least trying to be a real head coach. -
Sounds Like Hardy will be activated this weekend.

Good point. -
Or.... you could teach them how to have a little patience and to be less greedy, grubby beasts that world does not revolve aound. just sayin...

You do realize that by drawing comparisons to guys in your Saturday, backyard lot football game is nullifying any point you may be attempting to make, yeah? -
I usually get lots of Bills gear, but I told my family to layoff a litte. Not so much because I don't want it, but after so many years, the house is full of Bills stuff. My truck is full of Bills stuff. My drawers are full of Bills stuff. A year or two break won't diminish my Bills' arsenal one bit. Plus, I already got what I really wanted for Christmas... a new Head Coach.
-
All on Christmas morning... as as possible, after coffee is in the cup. I never quite understood the "one on Christmas Eve" idea. Christmas Eve is not the holiday. Do you let your kids open birthday presents the day before their birthday? It just doesn't make sense, unless you have family or friends over that won't be there for Christmas to see you open the presents... maybe.

If the Colts are 15-0, will NBC flex the Bills game?
Dan replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And.... ... ..... we'll likely be behind by 4 touchdowns at the half and have a backup QB playing. This is getting scarey. -
Yeah it would totally suck to have a QB that actually looks marginally competent. Here's to Brohm looking completely lost so we can all rest easy in our sucktitude.

Schobel contemplating retirement
Dan replied to Delete This Account's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I, for one, hope Schobel does not retire. He's a no nonsense player that gives 100% on every snap. He's played his entire career as a Bill and he's put up numbers better than any other Bills' DE, not named Bruce. For those that dislike his efforts for the Bills, you do know there's 31 other teams out there if you hate every player on the Bills' squad? -
A little humility wouldn't hurt.

God I hope not. How many more completely embarassing primetime games do we have to endure? -
I'm guessin he gets a paper cut opening Christmas presents and goes on IR on Saturday.

The Definitive Evisceration of The Phantom Menace
Dan replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Was Empire the first movie to leave a major plot line unresolved, i.e. the Han Solo deal, because they knew they were making a 3rd movie and needed/wanted the cliff hanger? How dumb is that... making some kid wait a year to see what happens to the story. -
He was blinded by the Chroise as his feathers melted under the brilliant rays.
-
God forbid a Head Coach actually wanting his players to listen to him and do what he wants. Childress may be a bad coach, but that's for him and the GM to discuss. Not for him and the players to discuss.
-
Yes you were. Well, they at least used their pictures. I assume they could do some recorded voice overs. Although I imagine anyone could go.. uuhhh. uhhhh. uhhhh. a few times and it would sound about the same. So, who knows? It's not like they even pretend the person is singing anymore. I was watching part of the MTV VMAs a while back. Don't ask me why.. I just was. Well, Beyonce comes on with her single lady dance thing. She doesn't even attempt to lip sync anymore. I guess they figured it was easier than have her pretend to sing and get caught with a tape malfunction. Just surprised me that a supposed "live" performance didn't have a single instrument out there nor did the "singer" even attempt to sing the song. Oh well that's rap, hip hop I guess. uhh.uuh
-
Brilliant! Chroise has been cut, Chroise has been re-signed, Chrosie shall play again.
-
Well that sucked. I did make to a full 40 seconds though. I love the Stripes. This uuhh. uhhhh. uhhh. yeah. yeah uhhhh crap not so much.

$10 Million dollars on the table and no one wants it?
Dan replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And how many teams have paid big money to multiple FA's and actually made it to the Super Bowl. Snyder's been buying most every big money player for years and what has that gotten him? So how is spending all this money on FA's going to be any different? Now you have Allen saying sign all the high-priced guys as opposed to some nobody? -
Not if it's gonna mess up my vista dammit!!!
Dan replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Never quite understood these arguments. We have power lines criss crossing the country and huge water tanks all over the place and now people are going to start complaining about wind turbines messing up the view? -

I agree with most of your post. However, this is what I just don't get. Most everyone says the Redskins are so much better than the Bills and closer to the playoffs. Yet... they currently sit at 4-9 and are getting their es handed to them by the Giants. The Bills, as bad as they are, have a 5-9 record. IMO, both teams have several big holes to fill - most notably a QB plus help on the Oline. They need a RB, we need a LB; and so forth and so on. So how is it that the Redskins are so much closer to the playoffs than we are?
