I'd completely agree with that. And I'll add: they'll say he was their #1 selection and they got just they guy they targeted all along. And, of course, he'll say he's excited to be here and looks forward to working with such a great group.

I think I read somewhere that a coach can't be hired from playoff teams till 1 week after they lose. Not sure, but I thought that's what I read somewhere.

So Mort and potential coaches throughout the league are basing their opinion about the Bills on something a guy that hasn't been in the organization for 4 years and left under strained circumstances said? Wow.

Well that article sucks. I though Frazier was supposed to be a bad hire that would only be here because we had no choice and we'd sucked for it. But, that thing made him seem competent. What do I think now?

I wonder if people even have a brain sometimes or if they just continue to lap up the hysteria. He states, "...their coaching search has become embarrassing, with more candidates turning down interviews than those showing an interest in the job." Then follows that up by listing the 2 guys that turned down an interview offer. But, then he follows that up by listing 3 guys that have or will interview. So, I guess according to some new math that they're teaching since I was in 3rd grade, 2 is now greater than 3. Not to mention, you could say Martz and Billick both showed interest in the job. Buffalo just didn't show interest in them. So by my count, we have 7 guys that have shown some level of interest in the job. Yet the coaching search is embarassing and we have to settle on the first guy that we can club and stick in the van.

I believe he turned down the request to interview. But there's uncertainty as to exactly what he meant - i.e. not till the playoffs are over or not ever. The pessimists say he hates Buffalo because we suck, so he'll never interveiw. The optimists say he's just waiting until the Chargers' season is officially over. Pretty much the same story with Russ Grimm in Arizona.

Are you so sure? Maybe they're like all of us... sitting around refreshing these boards hoping for the first glimpse of a new coach hire, instead of working. Only problem is, it still hasn't set in that they're the ones supposed to be doing the hiring that they're waiting on the internet to read about.

My guess, at this point, the Bills are either ready to hire Frazier as soon he's done in the playoffs. He was talked about being the top candidate for a while. Maybe there's another playoff team's assistant, but other than Grimm, there have been no rumors.

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. You're a coach. You want to coach. And you pass on a job being offered, that would pay quite well for a job that may not even open up for several years, if then? Who's to say Coughlin isn't there coaching for another 5 years. Then Cowher looks back and rather than doing something he loves, he's been biding his time.

I'm pretty sure you have to read between the lines and infer something negative about Buffalo and/or the Bills. No one ever just says something.

I would imagine Conan's ratings are going up as we speak. Heck, I even watched last night justto see what the fuss was about. Glad I did, actually. It was hilarious. He basically gave NBC and big FU all night. While all but admitting that he was drunk and just didn't care anymore. It was pretty good. I'll watch again tonight.
