  1. Exactly.
  2. I'd be absolutely shocked if the Bills' system is too complicated for him. Have you seen who our defensive coordinator is?
  3. http://sabres.nhl.com/club/boxscore.htm?id=2009030136
  4. I see he was releases by the Patsies*. Why not?
  5. So a guy misjudges one player years ago and his opinion is worthless for life? I'd love to see the perfection of people you hang with regularly.
  6. I like the Jammal Brown idea. Of course, provided he's cleared to play. The Saints did the right thing and moved on with younger, healthier players. But, that doesn't necessarily mean Brown is washed up. For a team, like the Bills, in desparate need of a LT; he could prbably step in and be a noticeable improvement. That would give Bell and whomever else another year (at least) to develop. I like that better than getting Faneca and moving Levitre. Just because... I don't like the idea of moving everyone on the line around each year. It seems that's been half our problem - every year they move guys all over the place in hopes someoen sticks somewhere. So, yeah, it's nice Levitre can fill in as LT in a pinch. But, I'd much ratherr they just leave him and Wood where they are so we've at least got continuity in 2 of our spots. Of course, that doesn't mean I wowuldn't mind seeing Faneca broght in. He could be a great back-up or injury starter.
  7. As someone who was probably just as upset as you with the pick of Spiller (I've since calmed down a little when I saw the rest of the draft), I think I have to agree with the majority of posters, here. If Ralph wnated someone just to sell tickets, I think they would have selected a QB at 9. Spiller may be exciting and may score lots of touchdowns, but as a fairly average (to below average) follower of college ball, I hadn't heard of him before the draft. Clausen, Tebow, McCoy, however, even I knew who they were and would have been more excited to see drafted. So, I have to say if they wanted Spiller because his name, alone, will sell tickets... well, the FO is really clueless. Regarding Spiller... am I the only one that watches those highlights on youtube and sees a guy running through wide open holes? What is he going to do when none of those holes are there in Sept? When, more likely, he has to start juking someone 3 yards in the backfield? So, color me skeptical until I see the offensive line do something other than stand aroundwhile guys run past them.
  8. Exactly. Getting rid of a perfectly good player for a mid round pick is absurd. I just wish someone could tell me what Lynch has done that's made him so despised. He didn't come in to voluntarily lift weights? It was reported that he wanted a trade (is there any link of Lynch actually asking for a trade)? It amazes me how quickly the mob turns.
  9. How has Lynch been a cancer? I really just don't get all the Lynch hate that's going around.
  10. I flipped to ESPN a few times. Then flipped back to NFL Networkto watch the commercial rather than watch the overstylized, no substance ESPN. Kind of a shame.. I used to like Berman, but rarely get to hear his comments any more.
  11. Watching... he didn't appear to have a teleprompter (although what do I know); but he did have copious notes that he frequently referred to prior to commenting. It looked like he was in school with notes and books laid out, constantly taking notes as players were picked or discussed. The guy is sharp. I think he's found his nitch. I can see him beoming one of the premier draftniks, along with Kiper and Mayock within 2 years.
  12. Maybe I'm biased in my belief that we need Offensive Linemen, but this is my faavorite pick of the draft.
  13. Agreed. It was nice when Mayock was there and the 2 would just go back and forth. You could really tell they both loved what they were doing and had the knowledge to back it up. I was enjoying watching the guy even before he gave our draft an "A" grade. He could actually give insight and make you feel like you learned something about the guy that was drafted. Late in the 7th round, they had a "stump the truck" thing going where they challenged the guys in the truck to get footage of the obscure guys being drafted. What was great, was Chavous had something to say about each guy regardless of whether the guys in the truck had anything. Even Mr Irrelevant, he had his stats and draft analysis. The guy was very well researched. I know we're not suppposed to go by what guys on TV say about our draft, but it does smake me feel more confident when someone so knowledgeable says it was a good draft. He didn't focus so much on the "value", i.e. where the the guy was drafted, but more on the abilities and potential of each individual that was picked. Which, IMO, is the way to analyze a pick - who cares where he was projected to go.
  14. Yes. It's the only TV worth watching. Give me NFL Network and Sunday Ticket and take the rest of it all off the air for all I care.
  15. Corey Chavous, NFL Network, just graded our draft and gave it a solid A. Charles Davis gave it a C+. For those that care of such things. I do agree with Chavous, though, on one point... alot of the guys Buffalo drafted have alot of potential. They didn't get the names, but they got alot of guys that are solid, versatile players that have the potential to develop into great players.
  16. That's what I was wondering... either he only played against one team or he totally blew against every other team. Gotta love the late rounds!
  17. Is that his highlight reel? Cause I don't get it.
  18. I really don't get all the Lynch hatred of late. I just don't. He had a down year, on a team where everyone had a down year. And now he doesn't play with passion? He's one of the hardest runners I've ever seen and gives his all every time he steps on the field. Between the suspension, the trainers letting him gain weight, and Jauron not having a clue on how to run an offense; is it any wonder his production fell off last year? Nix has said he plans on Lynch being here next year and I, for one, hope he telling the truth.
  19. I see the Pats* as kinda the extreme in "working" the draft. All they've done is work the draft, moving up and back and all around. It seems like they like making draft trades more than they like making draft picks. So, if they make all those trades, but then trade those trades to get more trades; when do they ever get players playing? Of the other end of the spectrum is the Bills. Make no moves, stay where you are and pick the guys you want regardless of "value".
  20. Why does everyone believe Nix when he said they had no plans to draft Tebow, but choose to ignore Nix when he says he expects Lynch to be here next season? It might be time to consider the alternate reality that just maybe Lynch won't be traded.
  21. Is it just me or are the Pats* just trade happy? Has anyone made as many draft trades as they have?
  22. Valid points. I was just throwing out a possible alternative. It's certainly a well known fact that the national "insiders" have little knowledge of the Bills franchise. So, I don't take what they say at face value. But, I'd suggest you can't take a GM's comments at face value either; especially in the middle of the draft with moves and picks still to be made.
  23. Sounds like Nix trying to save face to me. Either that or he's the best smokescreen blower in the league. It was widely reported yesterday that the Bills were going to get a QB in round 1. It twas widely reported that they were very high on Tebow. The moment Tebow was picked, you had all the inside sources saying Buffalo was heartbroken, crestfallen even. I'm thinking they got into a bidding war to move up and lost. Denver gave up A LOT to get Tebow. I'm glad they didn't mortgage the draft for one player. But, if you were in his shoes, you'd be trying to save a little face as well.
  24. Judging by what Denver gave up to get Tebow, I'd say it looks like there was a bit of a bidding war going on and the Broncos were willing to give more.
