3-13 Peyton led the league in INTs his rookie year, too. Sure didn't shake his confidence. Comparing EJ to Peyton is silly, but I don't see the point in holding back EJ any.

Stop Blaming Ralph!
Leelee Phoenix replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which he is. No matter what the Bills try to sell, Ralph will be a part of decisions until the day he dies. I think Ralph gets too much hate for being cheap, he's always been willing to pay for players at least. The problem is he has a hard time delegating power to anyone but 'yes men'. And the one time he strayed from that, it bit him hard with Donahoe. Unused cap space can be carried over to the next year now. So, there's sort of a purpose. But, the Fitzpatrick debacle defies any logic there, so I don't know. -
I still believe in EJ Manuel
Leelee Phoenix replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know I will. They view Jeff Tuel as a potentially useful QB, that's why they've bothered keeping him on the roster. They're not drafting another kid until the next regime change in 2016. -
And you kicked a 19-yard FG in the 1st quarter... I thought Marrone was just a giant BSer from the start, and he's surpassed my expectations. I suspect his constant faux positivity and hard 'work' blather like a college coach doesn't work at this level, either

I absolutely LOVE Doug Marrone
Leelee Phoenix replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me too Anyone who still thinks this Doug is motivating the team to try hard, etc... whatever. How can you play hard when the coach doesn't believe in you and gives up like that -
I still believe in EJ Manuel
Leelee Phoenix replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Play him every second the next 6 games. Now is his chance. Either way, I'm planning on drafting a QB in the first 3 rounds next year and having a competition along with Thad Lewis. Tuel can go whine with Ryan Leaf in some dank pit. If John Football is there at pick ~10, he's my guy. -
Every single ESPN expert is picking PIT
Leelee Phoenix replied to KikO M G's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same with likely everyone who made these "expert" picks I don't understand why these threads pop up often, that the Bills deserve respect. Why? They're the doormats of the league. Do you respect the Browns? The Cardinals? No -
I absolutely LOVE Doug Marrone
Leelee Phoenix replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the one thing I do like in Marrone's speeches, he's always willing to learn and improve and admits his faults... which is why it's so frustrating that he's been poor at game management so far. He's talked up that he's on board with 'analytics' for years at Syracuse before this. I want to like Marrone. But, he's nothing but meaningless blah blah about attitude and such so far. Pettine is the only coach where I see actual improvement -
And Jeff Tuel I agree that Brad got a raw deal by fans here, becoming the scapegoat after Kelsay (who deserved it). Smith was overpaid for what he did, but there was never a commitment to using him. Like Chan Gailey was ever going to be innovative or gutsy in any way. He was a very good weapon in short yardage situations

The Bills and the last wildcard spot
Leelee Phoenix replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The odds of the Bills making the playoffs at 9-7 is not good. At least one of those teams mentioned is going to win those amount of games, and the Bills are in bad shape tiebreaker wise via conference record. Also, odds are low that the Pats would be in a position to rest their starters for that final game. They're tied with Indy now for the 2 spot, and one game ahead of Cincy who they lose the tiebreaker to. They'll probably have to win that last game in Foxboro. So, my expectations are sadly nil already. -
Thad Lewis was the Lions FOURTH option, and he performed adequately in a game before that. Bills fans are seriously desensitized to what good QBing actually is
-
He's only making ~$2M per year, some backups make more than that, I think Kolb still is This is a big reason for drafting QBs early today, you don't have to pay them much, there's not much to lose
-
What to do with TJ Graham?
Leelee Phoenix replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesn't take too long to learn special teams. Get in the wedge or you're cut, boy. -
IMO, only Bridgewater (1st overall) and Manziel (if you think he keeps his issues in check), since I doubt Mariota or Miller declares. I'm not a fan of Boyd at all. This QB class is fairly deep, but not that good. Certainly weaker than 2012. While I'd love if the Bills were open to drafting another QB to compete with Manuel, I really doubt it happens. I question if they'll even consider it, but we'll also be picking too low to take Bridgewater/Manziel... same situation every year, sigh.

Asomugha's lost a few steps, he looks slow out there. Not worth a look in the Bills scheme.
-
With the Bills AFC record likely 6-6 after being 9-7, odds are they wouldn't get in. Playoffs are realistically done. Either EJ can suddenly show he's one of the best 10 QBs in the league the next 2 months, or lose every game and try again for a QB.

This is why Marrone will make us a winner
Leelee Phoenix replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marrone is good at spewing the "hardworking, blue-collar blah blah blah" nonsense that NE/Rust Belt folk eat up with a spoon. Bottom line: He's not getting the job done. He's not separating himself from the majority of mediocre coaches with backward thinking. -
And you can ask the other 99 out of 100 FSU fans that are stunned someone took EJ in the 1st round Not saying EJ won't work out, there's some promise, but his college career was lacking
-
No, they're going to beat Jacksonville. There's a team that's dedicated to tanking and is doing it right. We should have hired local boy David Caldwell
-
The team is really average, if not good overall. There's certainly promise if EJ/Next QB drafted can be an adequate starter. It's impossible to win with their QB situation this year. Which is partly management's fault.
-
There's no hot reads in those situations... It does appear Smith should have been on Stevie. But, he also had his eyes on Tuel who stared him down and threw right at him.
-
It probably would. There's more guys like Thad Lewis doing nothing that can give you a chance to win games. What he's shown on the field every game, including preseason. He whines to his teammates and officials when anything goes against him. Certainly doesn't look like a leader, for those who care about those things.
