  1. I’ll say Sweeney. Stevenson is going to IR. I get his big-play ability appealing to the Bills. I don’t understand what Sweeney does well?
  2. That guy stole so much money!! You have to give him credit. He’s, statistically, the worst QB in NFL History. He made $4.8M. That guy should serve a few years behind bars for that. He can hold the clipboard for Paul Crewe.
  3. I don’t necessarily agree. It was a surprise to most that he was cut. He’s better than a lot of guys on active rosters, like Haack. He is also cheap and young. He will be someone’s punter this year IMO.
  4. Chrisman presents an interesting debate IMO. Kern is a safe, known commodity. He is also 36. He can be the short-term solution. Chrisman could be here for 15 years but may not be as good right now (he may be). Chrisman will likely come cheaper as well. I’m fine either way but it is interesting.
  5. Are we still doing this? Brian Moorman really wants to be here. Jake Schum does too. I’d rather have someone good than someone that “wants to be here.” Give me the guy that was washed up 9 years ago instead of the recent Pro Bowler that wants to see his market value before committing. That makes sense… The bolded is clouding your judgement. The teams almost certainly don’t have all of the available guys as “roughly equivalent.” Kern is almost certainly the top rated. Martin is probably next. There are other factors that go into which guy you sign but they aren’t all interchangeable.
  6. My guess is that he is, an average, rotational, defensive tackle. That’s the same guy that he was here and the same guy that he will continue to be. He is a poor man’s Tim Settle.
  7. There have been other programs that “dipped” but eventually worked their way out. They don’t always “return” to their previous stature but they become relevant again (like Michigan, ND, etc). I don’t ever see Nebraska, consistently, being a top 15-20 team. I don’t see them reaching the level of like, Wisconsin or Auburn. They are closer to Rutgers and Vanderbilt. It’s wild. There is no end in sight IMO.
  8. I did something that I vowed to NEVER DO!!! I bet Nebraska last week 🤦🏻‍♂️. I bet them on the moneyline as a part of a parlay. What a horrible football program. I’ve been of the belief that this year they would be relevant again. That doesn’t mean a contender but a bowl team that wins like 8 games. Lol, I changed my mind.
  9. I think that it is!! I don’t remember completely but that sounds right.
  10. There are probably another 200-300 that you’d get to before considering Moorman. There are probably another 50-75 that you’d get to before Schum. Sign someone that is good at punting in 2022. They’ll kick the tires on all of these guys. Kern is certainly the favorite. He isn’t the long-term solution there but for a year or two he is still fine.
  11. The loser of Kern/Stonehouse The loser of Chrisman/Huber There are MULTIPLE other punters already on the street that outperformed Haack just last year: Ty Long, Jordan Berry, and Michael Palardy. There are 5 upgrades off the top of my head. This isn’t difficult. We fall in love with AWFUL ideas because we are comfortable with them. That’s stupid. That’s really stupid for the Super Bowl Favorite. The Bills planned on upgrading from Haack. They can still do that pretty easily.
  12. I’m not upset. There are people here that SERIOUSLY think the Bills should consider it. “I know that guy.” Those people lose a ton of credibility in my eyes. People are all over Jake Schum on Twitter as well. The Bills are the Super Bowl Favorite. They aren’t considering guys that last played in 2013 or 2016. They are going to upgrade from Haack. That was always the plan. It still is and there are a few options that are clear upgrades.
  13. 13 for Josh…
  14. Why should he get a tryout? He averaged 41.2 yards per punt in his final season. That was 9 years ago. For some perspective, that’s over a yard worse than every single punter that had at least 25 punts last season. You think that he might be one of the 32 best punters in the world now? Thurman Thomas was even more fun. Should they bring him in?
  15. Please, please, please stop with the crazy ideas. Brian Moorman is too old. He wasn’t great anymore in 2013!! That’s 9 years ago!! Full stop! The same goes for the Tik Tok guy from Buffalo, Jake Schum. If he was good, he would have had a job in the last 6 seasons. It’s okay to upgrade the position with a guy that you guys aren’t super familiar with, or born in Hamburg. Let’s get a good punter instead!! The loser of the Titans and Bengals competitions are upgrades over what we’ve had for the last handful of years. Aspire to look ahead, not back
  16. They played against different groups. The Bills weren’t having a competition for the backup spot. One has proven that they can win and lead teams to the playoffs. The other is Matt Barkley. The Bills brought Keenum here to ensure short-term stability in the event of an Allen injury. He’s a proven commodity. Barkley is here to go on the PS and fill the Davis Webb role. He is smart and Josh’s boy. This is like, “have you guy’s been impressed by Blackshear? He’s shown so much more than Cook the PS.” Fine, but he was never here to compete with Cook for playing time. That was also predetermined by rèsumè.
  17. Thanks @SDS!! I believe it will be Kern from Tennessee (and Grand Island). If they keep him, Ryan Stonehouse will be available. The Bills will have more competition for him IMO. Kern is likelier to pick the Bills.
  18. I get preventing the LAMP threads. We are on page 227 of a story that is 2 or 3 days old. There is no conversation because it is just a bunch of different topics. A thread about “which punters may be available” is certainly appropriate IMO. I watched good conversation get thrown into here immediately. I’m not reading 227 pages to piece together those thoughts. I’ll follow along on twitter I guess.
  19. Limiting all of the Araiza talk to this thread is absurd/stupid @SDS. There are SO many layers to it. There will be 25 different conversations at once. How the Bills are handling it is VASTLY different from “who they might replace him with?” You also have the layer of “how much did they know and when?” “What did they know when they released Haack?” There are so many different angles here I can’t understand why it is all being jammed into one conversation?!? This thread will be 400 pages and talk about 137 different things. The “over moderation” led me to a couple of year hiatus. I enjoy coming here to talk Bills but want to “get in and get out.” I’m curious as to people’s opinions on very specific topics. I don’t care to hear anyone chime in on “how the Bills are handling this” or “giving him the benefit of the doubt” or anything like that. I have an opinion on that and it isn’t changing and will be a hostile discussion (but one that warrants a place here). I ONLY care to hear people’s opinions on other options if Araiza is gone. I know that others feel the same way. We should ABSOLUTELY allow multiple Araiza threads right now. It is THE biggest Bills topic with lots of arms and legs. My $.02.
  20. I would cut them both. They stink. I suspect that they’ll keep Hart because of his “versatility.” He can struggle at multiple positions on the OL.
  21. It sounds like they’re doing the entire top 20 this week. Josh may be top 10. I was mistaken. I thought that 20-11 was this week and then 10-1.
  22. This will play out. I’ve been ALL IN on him as a talent. This is disgusting.
