PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion
Kirby Jackson replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was the first that I heard it also. It has the Kleinhans shape and “look” from the outside. I didn’t see as much of the Aud. They just mentioned it as we were going through. I forgot about the Rockpile influence as well. You see that in the entrances. It looks a lot like the Rockpile. -
I think that there’s a chance that the Bills take a guy in that range. They don’t have the luxury of a 40% chance at WR. They don’t have the depth to take that chance. They MAYBE could have rolled the dice on that when Diggs was here. That would have been a bad strategy but possible. Now, they need 2 that they know can play.

PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion

There are other revenues that aren’t subject to revenue sharing. Advertising and sponsorships, for example aren’t shared. That’s why teams try to sell “soft” assets. As an example, if Highmark is going to pay the Bills $10m a year (or whatever) the Bills are going to try to allocate as much of that as possible to advertising. They don’t want them buying $10M worth of tickets. Basically NFL teams get a different percentage of money depending on what it is spent on. This is the biggest reason that the Bills needed a new stadium. Teams were outpacing them with local revenue (nonshared). That revenue DOES still drive the cap. So the cap will continue to rise. While the Bills will get their equal share of the national revenue, the gap, over time, will continue to widen if teams keep growing their local revenue. The NFL owners wanted a new stadium because they wanted the Bills contributing more shared revenue on the ticket front. The more that the Bills charge, the more they’re contributing to the shared revenue pool. -
He’s my number 2. I really like all 3. I wouldn’t be shocked if Nabers or Odunze ended up as the best WR in the class. I’d be shocked if MHJ wasn’t really good. That’s why he’s my number 1. For me Harrison coming through Ohio State and having his dad in the HOF makes him the safest. I’m biased as an Ohio State fan but it also means I’ve seen a ton of him. He’s 1,200 yards and 8 plus TDs as a rookie.

I mean, not really. Most owners go that route with new stadiums. It isn’t a secret that the PSLs come off of the owner’s contribution to the stadium. It isn’t ideal but we knew a decade ago that this would eventually be the case. I equate the PSL to buying a car new. Once you drive it off the lot it’s value drops drastically. You then put 20,000 miles a year on the first 3 years and it just isn’t close to what you paid. After a handful more years, it’s basically worthless. That’s why you aren’t buying it as an investment. You’re buying it because you want to be in the stadium for all Bills games. I guess by that logic, it is another ticket fee. It’s like the initiation fee at a country club. You still have to pay your monthly dues, any assessments that come around and fees for different services. All that the initiation fee does is give you the right to pay those other fees. It looked awesome. They walk you through how it is built a certain way to redirect wind. They talk about how the appearance is inspired by Kleinhans and the Aud. I thought that was all pretty sweet. The attention to detail was so far beyond what we currently have. I guess that isn’t a surprise with a 52 year old stadium. It looks like it will be one of the nicer stadiums in the league. -

Yep, that’s the route that we are going to go when we eventually commit to something. The people buying those will be some of their broker partners. The Bills have had some broker partner relationships that date back to the Super Bowl years. They will have a certain amount of seats that those people will have access to. I’d venture to say that they are incentivized by discounting the PSL based on the number of seats that they buy. As an example, if they have someone that has 500 season tickets, they may only charge them for 400 PSLs. They may give them 10 years interest free or whatever. I don’t know exactly how they engage brokers but there is strategy to it in all cases. It’s tough in the NFL because you can’t discount tickets with revenue sharing. There’s no reason that you couldn’t make a deal on the PSLs though. -

3 years and it is interest free. It’s like 10.5% if you do the 10 year finance. They said very few people have gone the finance route so far. -

It’s not hiding anything. It is done that way to avoid revenue sharing. The PSL offsets a portion of Pegula’s cost to build the new stadium. It’s the cost of entry if you want to be in. It’s not uncommon at all. The areas yet to be released will come with lower price tags. Are you going to get your money back out on the PSL? No. Maybe if you can buy those lower level clubs at midfield, that’ll keep some of its value. Ticket brokers could be interested in that because they can get a ton of money of a per ticket basis there. That’s the only place that will somewhat hold its value. No one is buying a PSL as an investment though. -

Basically, and the ticket prices in the new stadium are roughly double what they are now for these same seats. I think that the face value of my seats now are about $300 a game. In the new stadium they are like $550 I think (plus the license fee). -

The “they’re selling fast” should be prefaced by there are about 5,500 seats in the East Club. That’s the equivalent of the sideline clubs now. By my math there are currently about 8,500 sideline club seats. There are 450 Founders Club seats I think that they said. They’re banking on people electing better locations vs. covered and heated. -

You can from the seats just not from the club. It’s like it is now. The new clubs are glass on both sides so that you can watch the game if you’re sitting at a table. They looked nice. The lower bowl club is between the. 40’s it looked like and $15k per. Not sure of the row numbers. The lower bowl won’t be covered but most of the rest of the stadium will be. -

Okay so I have some updates. The $50k Founders Seats are sold out. The East Club goes end zone to end zone. They have only released the sections between the 20’s so far. They’re selling fast. Still the $20k per seat there. I’m hoping that as you get closer to the end zone those PSLs drop so we did not commit yet. If they keep it there we will have a decision to make but I suspect that those will be lower in price which is why they didn’t yet release them. That’s what we are banking on anyways. Apparently we keep our place in line when that happens. The lower level clubs looked pretty cool but you can’t see the field from the club. You watch the teams though as they go out. They aren’t covered or heated but include food and Pepsi products ($15k PSL here). 64% of the stadium will be covered. -
Vikings? followed by Raiders and Chiefs

He’s certainly 1 for me too. The biggest difference between MHJ and the other top guys is that he’s basically “bust proof.” He has a HOF pedigree, elite physical traits and is polished. He’s also come through a WR factory and we have watched those guys transition seamlessly into the NFL. In my opinion, Harrison’s floor is Amari Cooper’s career. Basically, he will always be a top 10ish WR. At his ceiling he is a HOF player. There are other guys in this draft with that upside but they all come with a lower floor.

I had the Panthers and took Stroud over Bryce Young. 🤷🏻♂️

College basketball was once great. It isn’t anymore. The best talents aren’t there long (if at all). They are also spread wider with NIL. The quality is poor. The first weekend of March Madness is still exciting but that’s it. It’s the equivalent of the MLB playoffs when the Yankees aren’t in for me. I’ll check in on games, make a few bets but might be folding laundry while that’s happening. I have so many sporting leagues/events rated ahead of college basketball. The only reason that it’s even watchable is March Madness and even that is watered down. I have it behind (in no particular order): college football, nfl, nba, nhl, mlb, international soccer, and professional golf. There are other one off events that I’ll watch before a regular season college basketball game.

I’m either team “big move up” or team “2 guys by 50.” I want either one of the big 3 (and another WR shortly thereafter) or 2 of the next 8.

That’s what we have now but by the goal line (so significantly less). That’s where we are leaning but $20k each is steep. I was hoping if we gave up some yardage that would be $10k-$15k. I haven’t heard that though. Heat and covered are so important to us though that we may stretch. -

I’m going tomorrow with no idea what we are going to do. There’s really 3 options and each has flaws. 1) East Club - heated, covered, most expensive. 2) Field Club - great location, less expensive, not heated or covered 3) Wait and slide into the corners somewhere. Hoping to still be covered but probably sacrificing heat and amenities. I’ll report back with whatever I learn. -
Poll: How do we feel about Stefon Diggs the player?
Kirby Jackson replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that the choices are tough because he can be a few of those things. He was one of the best WRs in football for a few years. He’s a declining talent now. He became a headache. He should be on the WOF at some point (despite a short career here). -
With the 82nd selection of the 2024 TSW Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, S, Texas Tech. The makeover of the Colts secondary continues. He’s a smart, versatile, athletic DB, with playmaking ability. He reminds us of a young Micah Hyde. He’s a bit raw, but with Julian Blackmon returning on a 1 year deal, we can be patient. Taylor-Demerson will contribute on ST and in sub-packages day 1. We believe that he can grow into a Pro Bowl player. The LA Rams and @GunnerBill are on the clock.
