Harold Landry given permission to seek trade
Kirby Jackson replied to BuffaloRebound's topic in The Stadium Wall
Landry is a good pass rusher. He would upgrade the pass rush but in a similar manner to how Leonard Floyd did. He would be an okay addition but why settle? There’s no reason for the Bills to settle on Sweat or Landry or whomever. Myles Garrett should be their target. He should be followed by Crosby/Hendrickson/Mack/Parsons and then Landry/Sweat. The Bills do not need to be concerned with cost. They need to be concerned with adding elite talent. Start with the best and work your way down from there. -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
Kirby Jackson replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh no doubt!! He’s definitely not Batman. He’s a slot that’s good with the ball in his hands. He’s a role player, but a good one. He should be a 3rd or 4th option on offense (including the RB). Shakir is a guy that will be dependable and run after the catch. He’s not a guy that can take over the game on his own. He’s a great role player. All championship teams have elite role players. -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
Kirby Jackson replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol, my bad. I like Shakir. He’s good. He had the 3rd most yards after catch in the NFL. The fact that he finished 40th in receiving yards is an indictment on the passing offense. Shakir is a really nice complementary piece and can be long term. He should have a bunch of years with production. If they can get his Average Depth of Target up, he can be really dangerous. -
The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
Kirby Jackson replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
He caught 19 of 21 targets in the playoffs. Coleman caught 29 of 57 targets on the year. As of today, they aren’t comparable. -
I didn’t see today. What did he say? Here are his end of the season comments: https://sports.yahoo.com/bills-brandon-beane-little-disappointed-161547441.html#:~:text=During his end-of-season,about Coleman's final six games.

That would be a much better WR room
-
That’s where I’m at. It sucks that WR is still one of the biggest needs on the team. My frustration stems from the fact that last year was, arguably, the best WR draft ever. WR was at the top of the Bills list of needs. They had an extra 2025 2nd to work with if needed. They probably needed 2 guys but certainly needed one at the top of the depth chart. I realize that’s a lot to ask of a rookie, but that’s what the need was. They left the draft, with a project, who regressed (yes he was injured) and a year later, that guy isn’t guaranteed a starting spot. Depending on how things shake out, he will be a role player. That’s horrendous execution by the football ops staff. They could have done lots and been okay at WR. Instead, they traded a 3rd, a few months later to rent Cooper. Regardless of where Coleman ends up, that whole process was a fail.

I guess where I land is what actually happened to this point not what might happen. “I expect Coleman to get better and Worthy to get hurt.” I’m not making any judgements on what might happen. Based on what has happened, there isn’t a team in the league, including the Bills, that would take Coleman over Worthy as of today. Could that change in the future? Sure. Right now, Worthy looks like a future star catching 19 of 21 playoff targets for 287 yards and 3 TDs. Coleman looks like a guy that had a lot of concerns coming in and hasn’t done anything to ease those concerns.
-
He had decent numbers despite a low catch percentage. Do you believe think that the Chiefs are using the post season press conference to talk about Worthy’s “up and down year?” Again, I appreciate the fandom but Worthy is, without question, the better receiver. Can Coleman close the gap? Hopefully. Coleman looks like a future role player and Worthy looks like prime Desean Jackson. Comparing them, at this point, is apples and oranges.
-
No they didn’t. There’s nothing to support that other than blind homerism. Worthy looked like a future star at the end of the year. If you gave 32 GMs, that includes Beane, the chance to take one or the other, 32 take Worthy.

He just needs to join the Ravens band and he will get lots of attention from Smith.

Could the Bills be playing in Ireland?

Could the Bills be playing in Ireland?
Kirby Jackson replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Madrid is on the table. I don’t know anything regarding that but based on the process it makes sense. The NFL asks home teams to protect 2 games that they don’t want to give up. The Steelers have picked the Bills and Packers. The league almost always abides by their wishes. I would think that the Bills are one of the 2 protected Browns games but not sure. I COULD see a scenario where Miami doesn’t want their stadium overrun with Bills fans, especially for the beatings that they typically give them. I do not know if the league/host city/both make the call on who goes. It just, in my head, may make sense for Miami to be open to it. Yes, I realize it’s giving up a home divisional game but that hasn’t helped them much lately. -

I was thinking the same thing especially after London. I guess London and Madrid are still on the table. -
This isn’t surprising. Coleman wasn’t very good. That is especially true after he came back from an injury. The Bills needed him to be an immediate contributor and one of the focuses of the offense. Instead, he was a role player with some positive flashes. He caught 1/2 of the balls thrown his way and had less separation than every WR in football. It is concerning. It’s not time to pull the plug. At the same time, I bet that if they could do it all over again, they would have picked a different WR.

It’s not the Bills -
No doubt that they need to make adjustments to the scheme. I think that we are underestimating how good Garrett is (and I only use Garrett for this example). Just plugging him in will make a big difference. He’s just too talented to not have a massive impact. Could it be even more with the perfect scheme? Sure. It isn’t one or the other though. Both will improve the d

I’ve heard it’s not happening… -
I’m of the belief that helping Josh is priorities 1 through 5. If they are ever going to win it’s because of Josh not McDermott’s defense. With that said, we would have to be morons to not want Garrett on this team. He can move the needle despite the scheme much like Josh has on offense. If they can get pressure and pressure in big moments, they can win.
-
I actually think that we should stop lumping Garrett and Crosby together (same with Mack, Hendrickson, Sweat and Parsons). They aren’t all interchangeable. Each of those guys would be a giant up upgrade for the Bills. The price and impact for each is different. Garrett is in his own tier. He’s the best defensive player in football. The next group represents some great pass rushers. They are in a different tier(s) though.
-
What’s good value for the best defensive player in football, at your biggest position of need? Why do we care about value here? If you could pick ANY player in football to add to this team, Garrett is the answer. We are literally talking about THE BEST POSSIBLE ADDITION PLAYING FOOTBALL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Where’s the line where the Bills should be like, “thanks but no thanks? That’s too rich for our blood.” IMO, that line should be much further than what it will take to acquire Garrett. If the cost was 3 firsts, the Bills should do it. As you said, the Bills never draft early anyways so what difference does it make?
