  1. If your job told you, “you can make half of what you did last year or leave” would you be happy about it? Would you say, “last time I checked half of my salary is better than nothing?”
  2. It may not be. He fired his agent after the pay cut. It sounds like some hard feelings. I suppose it could change but who knows.
  3. Don’t forget he took a pay cut a few weeks ago that he wasn’t happy about. I’m sure that played a role.
  4. If it wasn’t Frank Ragnow 10 minutes ago, it is now.
  5. Umm, didn’t see that coming. I wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. Football is a tough game.
  6. Look at the history of QBs coming out of Wyoming, it’s even worse!!
  7. Of course Johnson defended it. In hindsight though, I’m sure that, being honest, the Cowboys would have rather used that first overall pick (that’s what it was) on Cortez Kennedy or Junior Seau.
  8. He needs to more than double his vote total without Chark getting another vote. This election looks like it can be called pretty early.
  9. Well, they’ve cleary had issues in the past. They were very open about that and how difficult it was. That was all from the original piece (think Tim Graham did it).
  10. Ha ha, I didn’t mean to go there. The Talley’s mean a lot to this place though as this is where the whole fundraising campaign began. I wasn’t planning on digging into and analyzing their relationship. It was more sharing the post. Besides it was that or starting another thread about a QB in the draft. FWIW, John Warwow retweeted it. That’s where I saw it.
  11. No apology necessary. I didn’t take it negatively.
  12. It’s a rebuilding year at TBD. We are tanking for a better pick the next time a message board shuts down.
  13. I know that they’ve been through a lot and people here have supported them (specifically @ChevyVanMiller). Saw this on Twitter and thought it was quite sad: https://t.co/8z0Aweaiaq
  14. We are certainly in agreement here. Rex was the wrong guy at the wrong time. That Bills team had talent in 2015 and was heading in the right direction. He was a disaster. I also agree that it starts with ownership. It is on the owner’s to get it right. Good post!!
  15. Ha ha, you don’t actually believe that do you?!? Do you think that the GM of an NFL team is sitting with his scouting staff and trying to figure out which avenue will best sell tickets?!? You think that’s what was happening?? I don’t believe that anyone could possibly believe that to be the case. It’s beyond absurd.
  16. I don’t condemn them for trading up. I absolutely believe that is the best way to secure a QB. I condemn them for trusting guys that can’t identify QBs to make one of the biggest decisions their franchise has made. That same guy used a 2nd on Hackenberg!! They honestly would have been better off not picking a guy and forfeiting their 2nd round pick. They’d have saved some money anyways. Drafting a guy that is never active on game day doesn’t deserve an “A” for effort. There are no participation trophies. These guys don’t get paid to take swings. They get paid to get hits.
  17. This is why we never see eye-to-eye!! This regime is incompetent and has been proven to be. That’s the last group that should be trusted to make that decision for the Jets. It is a results business. You don’t get credit for trying; you get credit for doing. If they can’t get the job done, which they’ve failed at multiple times, someone else should be making those decisions. I’m glad though that they didn’t make the change. When they screw up this time it will be a way more expensive mistake.
  18. I’m thinking Chark or Ragnow. I voted Chark because I think that it is a bigger need. Hurst, Jewell, Washington and Key were also considered.
  19. Nope, no nerds on my team (especially the face of the team). Fortunately, Rosen is cool too. I’m never embracing a guy that sounds like an ogre.
  20. Rosen has been my guy for 2 years. Johnny and Baker are more fun though. Andrew Luck is talented but he’s a nerd. I don’t want a nerd.
  21. I don’t want Baker with the Jets!! It’s my nightmare if Johnny goes to the Pats and Baker to the Jets. I will be devastated.
  22. Huh, this is surprising to me. I loved Hackenberg coming out.
  23. You lead the league in dead cap money when you trade and release guys. That’s not a function of screwing up the cap. It is a function of going in a different direction. They traded Sammy, Darby, Glenn, Dareus, etc... Those guys aren’t bad players!! That is where the dead money comes in. Again, you are proving my point. They did have a plan (one that you didn’t like). They thought that they were close, so they paid and invested draft picks in elite young talents. It didn’t work but that doesn’t mean that it was not thought through. Beane has a plan as well. It may or may not work. So far, he has done the same thing that Murray did when he got the Sabres. Everyone talked about how refreshing it was and yada, yada, yada. It failed MISERABLY. Now, I believe Beane to be WAY smarter than Murray. I’m confident in McDermott but Beane hasn’t earned that trust yet. A lot of people are singing his praises and he really hasn’t done anything yet. If he gets the QB right we will be off and running. If they miss on that guy you have a team with minimal talent and no QB. I am not trying to be negative at all. I’m just saying people need to slow down on the praise for Beane. McDermott has earned our trust but Beane hasn’t yet. If his plan works, great. FWIW, I really like the way that he has targeted this QB class to get his guy. He was smart to load up the assets. He better get it right though.
  24. That I don’t disagree with (and that’s an ownership issue). Had Rex Ryan not been hired things would have looked different. Rex was the problem.
