  1. Drew Brees? The stories that I have heard from his teammates would really surprise people. He isn’t he “Saint” (no pun intended) that he is made out to be. He just is really good at keeping things quiet. People in New Orleans haven’t even heard most/any of it.
  2. JohnC and Billspro are great additions!! Really solid posters
  3. Just wanted to say thank you to Gunner, p51, Blokes, Bandit, YOLO, 26CB , Reed83HOF and everyone else that I forgot that kept us informed this draft season. This board was full of great content and information. While we don’t all agree on the players and plan it has been so nice to be informed. As as crazy as it sounds this is one of the biggest few days in franchise history. This is the beginning of the next era. What the Bills do between this weekend through a year from now will ultimately establish the foundation of the next decade (hopefully). This is like the year that the Bills added Bruce. It was a sign of what was on the horizon. I know that I can’t wait!! Thank you all again and enjoy these next few days!!
  4. There are a couple of Bills Backers Bars there. If I were you I would probably try to find out where. There will likely be a collection of Bills fans there and it may even be the place you end up for games.
  5. There are a handful of TBD posters who now have him at number 1 on their boards!! Allen was a kid and said some dumb stuff. I don’t know if things said in high school should hinder your ability to get drafted. It clearly feels like someone set him up though. At the same time his words won’t sit well in a locker room that is 80% black (or whatever the number is). Some people may be okay with it but not everyone. That’s the wrong foot to get off on. Allen has to have scared off some teams as a result.
  6. Baker going one is potentially a disaster.
  7. It’s certainly the worst scenario. If Mayfield, Darnold and Rosen go 1,2,3 though it is possible. It is unlikely IMO but not impossible. That scenario would give the ultimate letdown. The Bills can’t panic though.
  8. I’d be surprised too but a run on QBs and it’s possible. The kid from VT is going early too. If you can’t get a QB that you value there don’t just take one to take one. Get a stud. That was my point I guess.
  9. Not really because the framework of 2 different trades are in place for the Bills according to a reliable source. The different trades are activated based on what happens. There is not a scenario though where the 2019 1st will be used. That’s why they got 22. They can use 2 1sts this year (which no one else can) and have 2 2nds and 2 3rds. They built it that way to get their QB. Rosen, Darnold and Mayfield according to that same source. If they go 1, 2, 3 then things will change. Otherwise 4 - 7 is where they will take one of those guys.
  10. If that happens I am staying at 12. Get Allen or Jackson there or Roquan. Trade out of 22 and try to pick up a 3rd and 2019 1st. Take a QB (Rudolph or Faulk or Lauletta) with one of those 2nds or 3rds. Load the rest of your roster to the vets of your ability.
  11. Ha ha, did the draft value charts not arrive in Cleveland? If you read Darlington’s interview with Beane he can get in the top 5 without next year’s assets. The Bills aren’t desperate (even though you guys want them to be). 12, 22 and maybe 65 for 4 & 114. That’s the equivalent of the Bills paying a mid 2nd rounder over what the chart says. The Broncos would jump at that offer at 5 (and it would be 96 at that point instead of 65). The Bills will get the same guy at 5 as at 4. The Browns can take Chubb or 12, 22 & 65 (while giving up 114). That’s the decision that they have to make but they have no leverage otherwise. The Cardinals, Dolphins, etc... can’t/won’t match that offer.
  12. Ha ha, that’s not the most important question!! The most important question is “can you get it in the end zone?” I think a lot of these guys can. Rosen has been my guy for over a year and I’m not changing on the eve of the draft.
  13. It has never been as dominant as it is now. That’s the point and the injuries are a huge concern. Teams haven’t figured out a balance yet with the mobile QBs. There are very few designed runs in the NFL. 75% of Jackson’s rushing yards were on designed runs. He isn’t a tuck and go runner. He was asked to throw OR run. He didn’t often take off and run on passing plays.
  14. When was the RPO popular prior to this? It is basically a college concept that is just starting (and working) in the NFL. We don’t know if it is here to stay or not. So far though Wentz, Foles, Alex Smith, Watson, etc... are running LOTS. Teams are certainly going to incorporate those concepts until they get stopped. That’s part of the appeal of the explosive QB running it. If they pull it down and take off it adds another dimension. It’s tough to defend. Ironically, the Bills has one of the ideal players to use those concepts and never did!! Thanks Dennison!
  15. You may be right here. There has to be a balance. Teams haven’t found it yet.
  16. Tough argument to make after watching Foles in the playoffs.
  17. He’s not saying much though. Reporters are always reporting. He is doing the same but with actual intel. He’s saying that they have a couple of deals worked out depending on what happens.
  18. It’s not running as much as RPOs. The Super Bowl was just won with RPOs. The Chiefs offense took a massive step forward running RPOs. Watson looked like the best QB to come out in forever using RPOs. Teams are now looking for guys that can run as the next phase of the RPO. It is a balance though because they need to stay healthy. It is just the continuation of the college influence in the NFL. It’s an evolution.
  19. I don’t hate (or even dislike) Jackson as a prospect. He isn’t in my top 3 for the Bills either. I’d be okay with him at 12. I’d prefer a move to 5 or 6 for Rosen. At at the same time I don’t want Jackson in our division if he isn’t on my team. I’d rather those teams took low ceiling guys (even if they have higher floors). I don’t hate the idea of a guy that could develop into Dalton in my division. I don’t want Jackson or Allen in the AFC East. Let them become stars or fall on their face in the NFC.
  20. I LOVE the part about “without giving up much in future years.” If you need a 2019 pick use the pick from KC for Ragland.
  21. Not wrong for not taking him, wrong for not talking to him. That’s negligent. These guys wouldn’t do that. They absolutely carved out some time to talk to him and put him on the board. Maybe they crossed him off shortly thereafter but they aren’t going to make any assumptions without doing their due dilligence. They just don’t operate like that. There won’t be any self created blind spots.
  22. Joe Chenelley is credible for those asking. He’s pretty conservative too. He doesn’t usually speak up without the right info either. I would bet that his info is good. I trust him more than most others when it comes to the Bills.
  23. He can play from the pocket though. They aren’t going to be too stubborn to meet with a 1st round QB. That is negligent. As thorough as they have been I find that impossible, not unlikely. Imagine if he shows up and gets off to a start like Watson or RG and they didn’t even meet with him? They would never subject themselves to that type of criticism. They can certainly pick someone else but they will be on the firing line if they didn’t do their due diligence. That isn’t something Beane and McDermott would do. They are thorough. Yep, that’s why there is something there. That’s perfectly reasonable.
