Rank the Bills Remaining Areas of Need.
Kirby Jackson replied to BurpleBull's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I also think that it is important to monitor the positions that were in for visits. The Bills had primarily corners, WR, RB, OL along with the QBs and LBs. -
TD Mike - will he be available?

I don’t know if they will consider him then -

I’m going to sound like a condescending ***hole here but I’m going to say it anyways. 95% of the people in that Field House haven’t seen these guys play. WNY doesn’t follow college football and doesn’t really know the game. They formulated their opinions over the last handful of months based on Schopp and the Bulldog, Jeremy White, Mel Kiper, etc...It is different around here when someone like Gunner is upset. He has studied these guys inside and out and formed an opinion. Bandit did the same and had a different take. Those people whining in the Fieldhouse over the Bills taking 1 guy that they have never seen over another guy that they have never seen pisses me off. The 5 minutes of YouTube highlights that they watched don’t classify them as knowledgeable!! Sorry for the rant and thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Any chance we trade back into the 2nd?
Kirby Jackson replied to Sweats's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It depends on the players available. Next year has a chance to be one of the great DL drafts ever. There are projections of 7 of the first 10 and 12 1st rounders up front. Kyle is on his last legs, Hughes may be gone after this year and Star is a 2 down player. The Bills have a chance to add an elite player at the 2nd most important position. They can add a day 2 corner next year (assuming Davis doesn’t have a bounce back year and get re-signed). You don’t ever skip elite talents for solid players. No elite players are going to round 2 in a year where 15 players received 1st round grades. Jackson is a decent player but he’s not anywhere near the tier of the Clemson guys, Gary, Oliver, Bosa, etc... -

That’s why I have OL/WR. Both units are really bad. The Bills could throw a rock and find an upgrade in those 2 areas. Nothing is even close to OL & WR (in no particular order). -

Any chance we trade back into the 2nd?
Kirby Jackson replied to Sweats's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Asked a different way would you rather have Josh Jackson or Nick Bosa? That’s the type of decision that they have to make. Even if they have Jackson as a top 25 guy they will be chasing guys ranked as high as Bradley Chubb next year. You don’t pass on elite talents for solid starters. Beane knows that. He wasn’t willing to part with next year’s 1st for his QB, he certainly isn’t going to part with it for a 2nd day corner. -

In terms of Edmunds that was a no brainer. He was a consensus top 10 player in this draft at a position of need. We didn’t hear more talk about him here because he wasn’t expected to be on the board at 12!! That was as easy a decision as Beane will have to make. -

Apparently that was the last asset that they were willing to part with (and rightfully so). -

I think that the Bills may trade back up into the 3rd. They can use their 4th, 5th and a 4th next year (they have 2). I think that the Bills wanted to come out of this day with a QB, LB, OL and a WR. I’d expect WR and OL today and a slot corner, RB and BPA tomorrow. -
Allen Over Rosen Reminds Me of
Kirby Jackson replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen wasn’t my guy. Rosen has been my guy since before the 2017 draft and he was there for the taking. That was a little deflating for me. I am going to support Allen though. I want the Bills to win. I’ve seen people on here calling him EJ and Losman. I don’t see that. Some people had Allen as high as 1. Apparently the Jets coaches were interested at 3, the Cardinals had him as their top guy, etc... This isn’t a guy like EJ that was a 3rd round project that got pushed up because of a terrible QB class. This guy was considered to be in the top tier of a strong QB class. His upside is either WAY higher than EJ & Losman or his bust potential WAY lower. That’s why he was more highly thought of coming in. The idea of a boom or bust guy scares me but the price wasn’t excessive. My fear was a big overpay on a dice roll. Preserving that pick and getting Edmunds took some of the sting off. It is similar to looking back in the EJ pick and saying “at least we ended up with Shady from our extra asset.” Additionally, the Bills kept their 2019 draft picks. I don’t think that this team is going to be good this year and that’s okay with me as long as Allen turns into the guy. They can enter the 2019 season with a young, talented QB, potentially great LB, $100M in cap space and a top 10 pick in one of the best DL drafts ever. They have a chance to have be great. Again though, it hinges on Allen being the guy. I hope that they are right. -
This was a strange draft. There wasn’t a ton of top talent and there were 4 QBs in the top 15 players by most accounts so it was interesting. I loved what the Bills did with Edmunds because he was one of the top overall players and a guy that I didn’t think they’d have a chance at. There are a lot of good players tomorrow and then it drops more than most years. I expect the Bills to pick twice tomorrow. I’m hoping for 2-3 more starters. An OL and a WR plus a slot corner would make for a good draft (dependent on Allen).

OK ill say it....Josh Allen or Mahommes?
Kirby Jackson replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m not sure how to navigate answering the question because of all of the other pieces involved. I prefer Mahomes to Allen but love Tre and Edmunds. I’m not sure what they would have ended up with otherwise. If Allen pans out this is a no brainer. I also expect the Bills to pick twice tomorrow. They will use a 4th and a 5th and come back up. That’s what these guys do. They traded up for Dawkins, Zay, Allen, and Edmunds that I remember. I’d expect them to try to get a WR and an OL in round 3. They will still have a 5th, 6th and 7th. Just my $.02 -
That’s why they got these picks. I don’t love Allen but they went and got their guy at a decent price. Edmunds had no business being on the board and they jumped. He was thought to be a top 10 lock. They saw a potential star, at a position of need, and got it done. I’ll never complain about taking impact players. Bodies are nice but you win with stars. Edmunds could be that (Allen could too).
-
Solid B for me Edmunds was a home run and a guy that they had no business getting. He should have been gone. They made a good aggressive move and snapped up a stud. Allen wasn’t my guy. It would be at an A or A+ with Rosen. Allen is a high ceiling low floor guy. I thought that the Bills did well with the compensation (which allowed them to steal Edmunds). If (big if) Allen pans out this draft is an A++++++.

RD 1, Pick 16: Tremaine Edmunds OLB - Virginia Tech

Me too, Rosen and Edmunds and I’d be running around naked. Now I’m just running around in my underwear. -

This would be a tough pick not to like. Listened to a podcast with Rappoport yesterday and he said that people around the league thought Edmunds might be the safest player in the draft. He was thought to go between 4-8. This was fantastic value and a guy that could be a star.
