  1. Yeah, the video starts with his flaws. By the end the guy is saying he could be the defensive player of the year, a better Keuchley and a 1st ballot HOFer. That’s a guy hedging. FWIW, he’s way too athletic to be a bust. The worst case is a good coverage LB.
  2. Here is another one that I watched that left me excited. https://youtu.be/4oTjfbxn3Ng
  3. It depends on if he was ready to play. It’s a totally different situation than Peterman. Allen is a physical specimen. They aren’t going to sit him if they think he’s ready. They aren’t going to play him if they don’t think that he’s ready. All of the scouting reports, speculation, etc... goes out the window when they start playing football. The Bills will do what any team in their situation would do and let the situation play out. It’s May 7th and he hasn’t had a practice yet. It may be May 7th of 2019 or May 8th of 2018 by the time that they think he’s ready. There is no right or wrong answer at this point. I’ve been of the belief that he needed to sit a year. My opinion is based on what I’ve seen. It really means nothing until they get out there though.

  5. I don’t think using previous successes and failures is a wise move. You can find many examples on both sides. Every situation is different. The Bills will put Allen in as soon as they believe that he is ready. It will be imperative that the coaching staff does a good job developing him. That’s what makes a young QB, not how soon or how long he sits.
  6. He is awful!! Saints fans hated him. He just isn’t good at football. As bad as our pass catchers are, he doesn’t make us better.
  7. I’m actually glad someone started this thread I had a question too. Does anyone know who this guy is? I can’t tell if it’s Chris Kelsay, Tim Anderson or Aaron Schoebel. Your help is greatly appreciated.
  8. We agree that there is risk but it isn’t the same risk across the board. Andrew Luck came into the league with very little risk. Aaron Rodgers and Blake Bortles came with a lot of risk. Allen is certainly considered high risk.
  9. Nobody knows for sure but to act like everyone comes with the same amount of risk is asinine. These guys have varying degrees of experience, different skill sets, coaching, etc.... I don’t think that anyone would argue that. Allen, is considered by pretty much everyone to be a high risk/high reward guy. There were other guys in this class that come with less risk but less reward. Think you mean Goff
  10. I know that Yeezus loves to push buttons but he isn’t necessarily wrong. It is a big gamble to take a risk/reward guy over a safe guy. There isn’t a solid track record of QB development or infrastructure here to accomplish that. That doesn’t mean Allen will be good or bad but it is certainly risky.
  11. That’s kind of the point. If Dez was even close to the player that he was a team like New Orleans would have paid him instead of Cam Meredith. The Rams would have added him instead of a 1st on Brandin Cooks. The Falcons used a 1st on Ridley. These teams went in other directions leaving his market pretty empty. He had a shot with the Ravens and in hindsight should have taken that deal.
  12. Dez is not even a shell of the player that he once was. If he were even to consider a short-term deal with the Bills that should tell you all that you need to know about his market. You take prove it deals with established star QBs that can elevate your market next year. The Bills offer opportunity but it isn’t a good fit for either side. I can’t see this as an option.
  13. It’s always grilling season in New Orleans (it just happened to be raining today).
  14. I don’t know we saw quite a different drafting philosophy this year IMO. It may be a small sample size but it looks different than last year. Last year you had really, really experienced “safe” (at least at the time) players drafted like Tre White and Zay Jones. They had extensive resumes This year feels like they went with all of the upside. Edmunds and Allen have massive ceilings but are not without risk. This to me is the Beane effect. He’s naturally more aggressive than McDermott. I’m not saying that one is right and one is wrong. It is just a different approach.
  15. Gaines signed a 1 year $4M deal. Preston Brown did the same. That feels to me like it would have been money well spent. For $8M you’d have really made your roster a lot deeper. Again, not trashing, just saying it is to be determined.
  16. I just made a blackened, blue cheese crusted ribeye. It was delicious but the house remains full of smoke. I love the cast iron but hate the aftermath. It’s a pain to clean and the smoke is ruthless.
  17. I think that they’ve done a nice job (specifically McDermott). His team played above their talent and won enough games to get to the playoffs despite a fairly significant point differential. That tells me that they capitalized on opportunities to win games. It was the “anti-Rex.” I like the job that Beane has done this offseason. He had 2 goals, to reset the cap and find a franchise QB. He got the cap done and took a talented passer. Beane’s career depends on Allen. Lastly, we still should be cautious on Beane. Everyone loves the GM doing the teardown. People liked Tim Murray at the time!! The easiest job in sports is starting over. You have a clean slate. Sam Hinkie reshaped the 76ers while Tim Murray butchered the Sabres. Time will tell if it works or not.
  18. Haven’t read the whole thread so forgive me if it’s repetitive but Russ has always loved the ladies. It was inevitable that something like this would lead to his downfall. This wasn’t the first time either. The whole “worst kept secret” thing is just that. He has always been somewhat inappropriate when it comes to women. That isn’t news to anyone around there.
  19. Hughes, Star, Kyle, Murphy Alexander, Edmunds, Milano
  20. Auto insurance is pretty high at the moment. They pay between $1.4M and $1.5M on about 110 extra heavy trucks. The losses 2 years ago were like $1.24M (which is a bad year) and last year they were $350k (a great year but with some stuff outstanding). I’d say an average year for them in terms of losses is probably about $600k. This is what I’m dealing with
  21. The sponsorship revenue that the Bills have created from camp is very, very high compared to the rest of the league. They’ve invested in Rochester and in turn a lot of Rochester companies have invested in them. They would lose a significant revenue stream by going back to the stadium. It doesn’t make any sense in their situation. If it ain’t broke.... Closed practices may be a compromise long term. They may give him 5 or so closed practices during their time at SJF.
  22. Yes, but the Pegula’s are going to keep the few million dollars (plus the Rochester goodwill). I will be shocked if they ever leave regardless of what McDermott wants.
  23. Are people dumb though? Should the Bills move away from a giant revenue generator and marketing opportunity? Of course not, this is so obvious. It would be a story if they were stupid enough to leave Rochester.
