Khalil Mack holding out... in Buffalo
Kirby Jackson replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m sure that they plan to but the fact that he and Gruden haven’t yet spoken isn’t good. He may only report if they promise NOT to tag him? The franchise and player certainly aren’t on the same page. -

No you won’t. Those contracts will be in the same vicinity. -

Nah, he is at some high level business dinner.

Apples and Oranges....Allen is a surefire top 10 pick with as much talent as any QB in the league. Guys with talent get the chance to work through struggles. He will get every opportunity to prove that he belongs. Jeff Tuel got one chance. Not everyone gets equal opportunity. It was a simple joke. The guy throws a lot of INTs and would have started camp with a pick 6. I’m not going to derail this conversation though. There is too much camp left. The situation will play out in due time...

I too go to Planet Fitness. I always think about joining somewhere nicer but then remember it’s $10 a month. It is pretty convenient to work and home. It isn’t ideal but works for now. May make a move to the nice place early next year.

That would be great but I don’t see it. This roster has serious flaws on the offensive side of the ball. This was a 3 year rebuild. The Bills spent year 1 installing the culture and core, year 2 adding a QB & clearing the cap and year 3 they can spend in the draft and FA. If we see the continued progress of the young players and if Allen can play the future is bright. This entire “process” is dependent on Allen becoming the elusive “franchise QB.” That’s what matters. It makes little difference if they are 4-12, 6-10, 8-8 or 9-7. They were 9-7 in the Orton year and 6-10 with Fitz. Those years aren’t that different in hindsight.

I’m not that concerned about the 2018 record. This team isn’t a contender. They do however have some high end young talent. If the secondary continues to be strong, Edmunds is a stud and Allen looks the part I don’t care about much else. A lot of these guys aren’t going to be on the roster by the time that the Bills are ready to compete. I hope that those players that will be exceed expectations.

If the Bills start well, what will be said?
Kirby Jackson replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills start 5-2 it’s because Josh Allen is the next great young QB. The offense isn’t capable of starting 5-2 otherwise. -
I’m 37 and she turns 33 in 2 weeks. It’s like 4 years & 3 months

Yeah, these guys almost always have major questions. I actually think that a guy in their shoes should just work out all year and enter the next draft. They can still be a part of the pre-draft process. If they have spent an extra 4 months preparing they would be way ahead and are less of an injury risk. It’s almost what Fournette did. With that being said I get it. Why put off the once in a lifetime chance to get paid? I don’t think many (if any) would in their shoes. It would have to be a sure fire guy, clean off the field, that can afford to wait.
-
I promise you that is the type of prospect that he was/is. This was not a great CB draft. The worst we’ve had in some time and those guys always get pushed up the board. I’m not making this stuff up. Here is Matt Miller’s take: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2784321-sam-beal-meet-the-best-supplemental-draft-prospect-since-josh-gordon I tend to agree that not coming out (especially in a week CB class like this past one) was a mistake. In terms of the supplemental draft a guy almost always goes a round later than they would have if they waited. Teams are conservative. Josh Gordon went in the 2nd and is as talented as any WR maybe ever (pure talent).
-
No, the next draft. FWIW, many draft experts thought only Ward was ahead of him in this past class. He decided to go back to school and then was found to be academically ineligible. He isn’t some long shot. This, like Josh Gordon, was a guy with a ton of talent that ended up in the supplemental draft.
-
Except he likely would have been a 1st rounder (and at worst a 2nd) in April. There are exceptions to every rule and he is one of them.
-
That sucks!! Beal is a real talent. I guess from the Giants standpoint though it isn’t the worst thing. It will be like drafting him next year. By using the supplemental pick they probably got him later than they would have.

Shaq for Coleman was my initial thought. I get the sense though that the Bills are interested in seeing “Shaq v2.0” I am with you though on trading for talent. If you can get talent cheap you have to go for it.
