  1. I don’t disagree that everything was with an eye to the future. They were still 5-4 at that point and it was a “winnable game” on paper (at least at that point). 9 weeks in the Bills were right in the middle of the playoff conversation.
  2. That’s 12,450,003 more dollars than rushing yards he had in a Bills uniform.
  3. I don’t think that the plan was ever to marry Tyrod. Peterman in the playoff hunt though was never going to give them a better chance to win. Tyrod was here until they got “their” guy. FWIW, I loved the Bills approach to QB this offseason (even if Allen wasn’t my choice).
  4. So you do believe someone that has posted nearly 22,000 times in 5 years doesn’t care about the team’s success? Good take...
  5. I would rather have Taylor than Peterman and McCarron if that’s what you are saying (which we all know it is). I want the best QBs. In in terms of Allen’s development they have a plan. The plan isn’t to let 3 guys battle it out forever. They invested A TON in Allen. He is the highest QB that the Bills have ever drafted. The plan is to toss him the keys when he’s ready. I don’t know how anyone sees this any other way? McCarron and Peterman are sacrificial lambs for lack of a better term. They are there to keep the seat warm until he is ready. This isn’t about their development or getting them ready. If they can play it’s a bonus and potentially they can be traded. Their development though is such a secondary factor. Allen’s development will make or break this regime and the next decade.
  6. I’m certainly not alone in this or sensitive. You made the suggestion that “those don’t think he is good would rather be right than the Bills succeed.” That’s what I called you on. That is a ridiculous assertion. Everyone here wants what’s best for the Bills. We can still have opinions on players. That’s what the message board is for.
  7. It is possible to improve and it looks like he has. I’m certainly not always right and never claimed to be. I do have an issue with your passive aggressive approach. If you want to challenge people on their opinions, go for it. Don’t say this: Can I say though, that it seems to me that there are a couple of posters here that have already made up their minds about him and it appears that their hubris dictates that they would rather be right about their opinion than have him improve for the betterment of the team. If you have a problem with someone’s opinion address it. Questioning that anyone here, wants anything other than what is best for the Bills is absurd. I have posted 21,547 times in 5 1/2 years on this board. Do you really think that I’d rather be right than the team succeed?!?
  8. I don’t have Allen way behind a guy that has been picked in 6 of his 52 pass attempts or a guy with less than a handful of starts. Experience isn’t a factor at all in this qb battle. Allen’s development is the only consideration. They are trying to set him up to succeed. If he isn’t ready day 1 he won’t play. If he isn’t ready week 14, he won’t play. If he is ready week 1, he will play. If he is ready week 14, he will play. That is the entire plan. Put Allen in position to succeed and let everything else fall into place.
  9. I was responding to a passive aggressive post saying that some people have made up their minds on him. I’m not going to hide from my opinion. I hope that I’m wrong. They will name the starter whenever the time is right. We are so far from actual games mattering. There is no reason or to wait. They are rotating reps now. The plan is to get Allen ready to be the guy. That may be day 1 or 2018 or day 1 or 2019. They aren’t going to sacrifice any of his development to get someone else ready. His development is the single most important thing on this team. It takes priority over everything else. They aren’t cutting McCarron. If anything, he gets traded.
  10. I’m assuming that I am one of those posters that you are referring to? Yes, I have made up my mind that he will never be a good NFL QB. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong but I’ve seen enough to believe that I will be right. I hope he turns into Aaron Rodgers. I just don’t see it. I don’t care to be right. I care that the Bills win.
  11. It wasn’t my suggestion!! Don’t shoot the messenger.
  12. Yeah, they are likely to cut their 1st round QB that they traded up for...
  13. He had 8 good weeks and then had a losing record, 195 yards a game and 1:1 TD to INT. Bledsoe was pretty much awful after 8 games.
  14. I think so. He grew a lot last year IMO. McDermott is going to end up being a good coach. He gave Rico what he asked for and held him accountable. He also took the bullet instead of throwing him under the bus like Colangelo did with his wife.
  15. I know what I was told and my source was beyond reliable.
  16. And he fell on the sword because of it. I have been told by some people in the know that was 100% Rico’s decision. He pushed McDermott to make that move to someone that could “execute his offense.” McDermott gave him what he wanted. It failed. Rico was fired.
  17. Tuel’s first (and only)start: 18-39, 229 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 0 sacks, 17 rushing yards against a 9-0 chiefs team Peterman’s 1st start: 6-14, 66 yards, 5 INTs, 0 sacks, 4 yards rushing against a 4-6 Chargers team Which of those performances was better? Which of those 2 guys is more deserving of another chance? That was my initial question. Why does Peterman deserve more chances than Tuel?
  18. Did you need more starts from Jeff Tuel or Brian Brohm? They were WAY better when given the chance than Peterman. It’s not obsessive but I believe that you earn you opportunity. To date, Peterman has been given the opportunity that hundreds of better QBs haven’t and failed miserably. I’m not sure why he deserves more chances but Tuel, Brohm, and Levi Brown didn’t? If a guy stinks, he stinks. That’s one thing that all of those guys showed when given the chance. To Peterman’s credit it sounds like he is improving. The question though was never, can this guy look decent in shorts? They didn’t call him “Nervous Nate” at Pitt because of the way that he looked in mini-camp. What does he do when the pressure comes? That we won’t see again for a while. From what we have seen though he is awful under those circumstances.
  19. Yes, if Peterman has 15 TDs and 4 INTs and is 10-0 but the Bills think Allen is ready he will play. Which scenario do you think is more likely: A) Bills think Allen is ready Week 1 B) Peterman is 10-0 with wins at Baltimore, home to the Chargers, at the Vikings, at the Packers, home to the Titans, at the Texans, at the Colts, home to the Pats, home to the Bears and at the Jets with a 3:1 TD:INT ratio That is your hypotethical. Nate Peterman’s mom would laugh at that. 31 of the 33 QBs drafted in the top 10 over the last 20 years started during year 1 at some point. I don’t know why you expect Allen to not be a part of that group because of Nathan Peterman?!? That’s beyond crazy talk.
  20. I don’t believe that they would subject themselves to it failing. McCarron will be the guy if Allen isn’t ready and it will be Allen if he is ready.
  21. As soon as he is ready isn't that complicated. The Bills traded up in the 1st round to get him. He isn’t a part of some mythical QB competition. He will be the starter as soon as the Bills think he’s ready regardless of who is in front of him now. Alex Smith played at an MVP level for much of last year and was jettisoned. Allen is their guy. He’s the guy that they are betting their careers on. If they are right, we move. If they are wrong, they are looking for work in 2 years. That’s the nature of the NFL. We disagree on their plan. Their plan isn’t “let’s see which guy gives us the best chance to win?” Their plan is “as soon as Josh is ready, he plays.” It may not be week 1 or even 8. It may be 2019. There isn’t anyone though that will be keeping him on the bench when they deem him “ready.” That’s part of the reason that the Bills didn’t chase Keemun, Cousins or even keep Tyrod. They wanted a clear path for their guy, Allen. Yep
  22. No chance, imagine if it failed? That would throw this staff into the crosshairs. They won’t subject themselves to that. If Allen is ready, it’s Allen, if not, it’s McCarron.
  23. No, Josh Allen will be given the job as soon as he is ready. This is where the disagreement is. The Bills aren’t “trying out 3 guys to see who their guy will be.” They invested HEAVILY in a guy and have staked their careers on it. They aren’t testing them all out!! They are waiting for Allen to be ready. Those 2 things are very, very different. Getting picked 6 times in 52 attempts isn’t better than zero attempts.
