  1. If they take a guy high and bring back Benjamin it will be an improved position. They can also swing a deal.
  2. This is EXACTLY where I’m at. The Bills are trying to build for a championship not another WC. The defense could be really good and the quarterback (hopefully) is on the roster. With 9 picks and $100M, 2019 is the year to make the leap.
  3. He’s been playing behind Dupre and Proehl and Allen have a good working relationship. There’s a LONG way to go with the WR. I believe that Benjamin is the only lock.
  4. No, I got a response. Wily Dog said that he thought that they wrote off Tuel too soon. He’s consistent. I respect the fact that he took an unpopular opinion. Tuel was out of the league despite a decent first showing. I’m not “anti-Peterman.” I just don’t think that he is very good. If he’s the guy playing there is nothing that I want more than for him to succeed. Again, what I hope and what I think is totally different.
  5. Looks like a pretty good attempt. He’s not far off IMO. WR/CB could change some.
  6. Not grasping at all, just looking for someone to support that. You did. You believe that they gave up on Tuel too soon and are consistent here. My question is, when is it okay to form an opinion on a long shot prospect? The answer is definitely different for different people.
  7. He’s definitely not on the bubble but could be traded. Those are 2 different things. I’ve suggested flipping Shaq for Corey Coleman. A couple of former 1st rounders that didn’t live up to their billing that need a fresh start. It appears that Lawson is a new man this offseason so that may change my opinion.
  8. I keep asking (and no one is answering), how much of Jeff Tuel did you need to see to form an opinion? Do you think he deserved more chances? He was WAY better in his opportunity than Peterman. Why was it okay to write off Tuel but not Peterman? What about Levi Brown? Gibran Hamdan? Brian Brohm?
  9. Peyton Manning was a generational prospect. Peterman was the 191st overall pick. I am always willing to be more patient with a top end talent. Isn’t that obvious? Do you believe that Peterman is going to be given as many opportunities as Allen if Allen struggles early? The answer is of course not. Jeff Tuel was WAY better than Peterman in his first start. Are you upset that you didn’t get to see more of him or was he just a marginal talent that washed out of the league?
  10. Yes, based on what I’ve seen my opinion of him is different than the Bills. He was still the 191st pick in the draft so a lot of other football people weren’t too high on him either. In a QB starved league, teams had a lot of guys ahead of him: Turbisky, Mahomes, Watson, Kizer, Webb, Beathard and Dobbs. Completing less than half of your passes and being picked 6 times isn’t making those teams regret passing on him. So while some football people have a higher opinion of him than me, others probably don’t. I hope that he’s great but don’t think that he is.
  11. It’s like saying “Lee Smith showed good speed.” If you liked Lee Smith’s blocking, fine. If you liked his speed, no.
  12. He didn’t show “good accuracy” though. You wanted him to. He completed 54% for 5.7 YPA in the preseason. He completed 49% in the regular season with a 5.1 YPA. That is absolutely awful!! There is nothing to build on. If you want to say “you like the way that he has looked this offseason after struggling so badly” that would be fair. To say that he showed “good accuracy” that’s just not accurate (no pun intended).
  13. 54% completion and 5.7 YPA impresses you? I’m sorry but my standards are higher than that. You’re entitled to your opinion but we aren’t ever going to agree on that.
  14. Hey, I hope Peterman has Tyrod’s career. If he starts 40 something games and throws 3 times as many TDs as INTs it will be a MASSIVE success. Does anyone expect that to happen?
  15. Fair but 29 preseason pass attempts is a small sample size for a guy with 30 regular season starts. Hope that he plays great...what else would we want? HOPING that he will be great and THINKING that he will aren’t the same. I think that he stinks. I hope that he goes to the HOF and wins Super Bowls as the Bills QB.
  16. Your attempt to validate him based on preseason performances vs. 3rd stringers is equally as empty.
  17. That’s fair John. If he can be a “Matt Moore” type on a rookie contract it will be great. That would be really valuable to the Bills.
  18. Ockham’s Razor It’s much more likely that he struggled than some conspiracy theory that a playoff team would sabotage the game in protest.
  19. Kyle Williams has as many in a Bills uniform.
  20. I think that we agreed that one of us would be leaving. There’s some archive digging to do...
  21. Didn’t we have a bet that if someone paid Tyrod $10M this year you’d never post again?
  22. This is a pretty easy decision for the Browns. They are 1-31 over the last two years. They now have a talented, young roster. They need to learn to start winning. Tyrod has a winning record and doesn’t make mistakes. He’s a consummate professional earning rave reviews so far in Cleveland. They’ll win 6-8 games this year while getting Baker ready. It made a ton of sense for Cleveland to pursue Tyrod and it made a ton of sense for the Bills to clear the path for Allen. If Allen can play it will end up working out well for both teams.
  23. They’ve won 9 straight and 14 of 15. They lost a tiebreaker at 11-5 to the Dolphins in the 15th year (when Brady missed the whole season). Why do we expect something different?
  24. The Patriots Next question....
  25. Smerlas doesn’t belong on that list.
