  1. Is the average career at your job more than 3.3 years? If it isnt, you are comparing apples and oranges. I’m going to try not to go on a rant here but every time this topic comes up I get frustrated. These guys generate billions and billions of dollars. In every industry the revenue generators make money. I’m in commercial insurance and get paid more than my support staff. That’s the way that the real world works. The average NFL career is 3.3 years and they have minimal guarantees. If you get hurt and are a fringe guy you aren’t going to be in the league. This whole notion of “they don’t deserve it because they are millionaires” is nonsense. If your company generated billions of dollars a year the top people would be paid accordingly.
  2. I actually think that Kerley is more likely to make it than Zay at this point. I think that they both make it but if I were to rank the likliehood to make the team it would look something like this: Benajmin - 98% chance (freak injury or off the field incident it the only way he doesn’t). Kerley - 90% Zay - 80% Holmes - 65% Dupre - 65% Reilly - 60% Streater - 60% McCloud - 60% Foster - 50% Proehl - 30% (likely PS) Clay - 30% (needs to win return duties) Anyone else - 10%
  3. He’s run with the 1’s since he has gotten to Buffalo and supposedly played well to this point.
  4. I guess that my entire point with Allen is that what the other guy’s do is irrelevant. If Allen is way better than them throughout camp but still doesn’t look ready, sit him. If he is the worst of the 3 but looks ready, play him. When he is ready, he plays. It may not be this year. That’s fine. It may be week 1, that’s fine too. There is no set plan that you have to follow. It is whatever works best for a team and player.
  5. Ha ha, you are good. We have a full army of people with nothing better to do than keep up with the back and forth. We will keep you in the loop.
  6. That’s the part that you need to be careful about. If everyone comes with some sort of minimum though I don’t think it pushes the “John Hughes’ of the world” out of the league. He may come with a little higher guarantee than a rookie but both may have the same cap hit if creative enough.
  7. She called him out for it. She revealed the girl. He apologized. I’ve been following on social media and it isn’t some mystery. Neither of them is hiding or denying it. Now if your point is, “we don’t know the whole story” I would agree. If your point is “do we know if he cheated?” You are just burying your head in the sand because you don’t want the truth to be true.
  8. There is going to be some balance moving forward. A minimum portion of all contracts will be guaranteed. I don’t think that the NFL will ever get close to other sports but it will change. Maybe something like the minimum contract for a player of a certain tenure is guaranteed? The guys that get more wont have to worry but it is almost like a minimum wage effect. If you sign a guy to a 1 year vet minimum, he gets that regardless of whether or not you keep him. It’s for guys like Keenan Robinson and John Hughes. Just a thought... That’s a fair solution as well.
  9. Trust the process It doesn’t take much reading between the lines to know that he cheated. He’s tried to apologize but so far it isn’t happening.
  10. Prediction for first fight? I’ll go Wyatt Teller & Rickey Hatley. That didn’t take long.
  11. In general, I agree with your thoughts. This certainly isn’t the ideal situation for a young QB. They all develop at a different rate. I was under the impression that Allen would need a redshirt year. I’m not sure that my opinion has changed but I get the sense that the Bills feel differently. They have their plan and as soon as he is ready (whenever it is), he plays. With that being said, I don’t think that there is some magic formula to when a QB should play. We’ve seen young QBs that started from the beginning flourish and we’ve seen guys that sat have success. It is 100% dependent on the player and situation.
  12. I said it earlier in the thread but this “QB competition” is totally irrelevant. IF anyone but Allen starts at the beginning of the year they are a mere placeholder. It may week 1, it may be a month, it may be more but this isn’t a “competition.” It is a matter of “when is Allen ready to play?” This isn’t a battle to determine the QB of the future; that has already been decided.
  13. I’d say that’s fair (from what I read). He was certainly the steadiest (as to be expected). McCarron, to me, can be a pretty good game manager. He won’t make a lot of plays or mistakes. He’d be great security for a team with a bunch of weapons and a good defense (somewhere like Minnesota).
  14. What better place to settle your marriage problems than Twitter? I’m pulling for you Jordan!!
  15. I’m sure that they plan to but the fact that he and Gruden haven’t yet spoken isn’t good. He may only report if they promise NOT to tag him? The franchise and player certainly aren’t on the same page.
  16. No you won’t. Those contracts will be in the same vicinity.
  17. Guy has an impressive resume!! John Hughes
  18. Nah, he is at some high level business dinner.
  19. Apples and Oranges....Allen is a surefire top 10 pick with as much talent as any QB in the league. Guys with talent get the chance to work through struggles. He will get every opportunity to prove that he belongs. Jeff Tuel got one chance. Not everyone gets equal opportunity. It was a simple joke. The guy throws a lot of INTs and would have started camp with a pick 6. I’m not going to derail this conversation though. There is too much camp left. The situation will play out in due time...
  20. Mid season form
  21. So appropriate that on the first play of training camp the CB jumped the route and dropped a pick 6. He’s picking up right where he left off
  22. I too go to Planet Fitness. I always think about joining somewhere nicer but then remember it’s $10 a month. It is pretty convenient to work and home. It isn’t ideal but works for now. May make a move to the nice place early next year.
  23. That would be great but I don’t see it. This roster has serious flaws on the offensive side of the ball. This was a 3 year rebuild. The Bills spent year 1 installing the culture and core, year 2 adding a QB & clearing the cap and year 3 they can spend in the draft and FA. If we see the continued progress of the young players and if Allen can play the future is bright. This entire “process” is dependent on Allen becoming the elusive “franchise QB.” That’s what matters. It makes little difference if they are 4-12, 6-10, 8-8 or 9-7. They were 9-7 in the Orton year and 6-10 with Fitz. Those years aren’t that different in hindsight.
