The Bills didn’t use a 1st and 2 2nds to have him throwing to Robert Foster. He is going to start getting to play with quality players. He 100%, unequivocally is their guy. They will continue to develop him but what is happening around him isn’t impacting his development schedule. They aren’t going to keep him as a number 3 because Peterman and McCarron played well. His development isn’t tied to their play. They have a plan for him and are executing it.

Okay, so you say that you disagree with my points but won’t tell me what you disagree with? I’ve told you EXACTLY why I think that he isn’t good. I just laid it out and asked you if you disagree and you changed the subject. I believe that Allen is going to start seeing more and more time with better players despite Peterman and McCarron playing well last night. Allen can simply do things that they can’t. He has a chance to be a star. Those 2 are backups. I don’t think anyone in the league feels differently?

What do you disagree with from my post? - I said that he played exceptionally well. - I said that press man is kryptonite for someone that throws hitches and slants on a 3 step drop. (That is why I don’t believe that he can succeed). I’m not sure that either of those points is debatable? If you disagree with them please explain why.

I still don’t think that he’s good. I thought he played exceptionally well. I firmly believe that he is not, and will never be, a starting caliber QB. He’s a one read QB with limited arm strength. If I were a DC I would play press man all game long. I have no idea how he could possibly succeed against that? Press man is kryptonite for what he does well. Obviously that isn’t necessary in preseason but it will be when the bullets start flying.

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season Game 1

He played great. I thought it was a combination of throwing on time and a good performance from the starting OL. That was by miles the best that he has looked in a Bills uniform and the 2nd best performance (behind the game against Clemson) that I have seen from him. Let’s hope it is growth. -

Thought Teller had a great night too. He played with that mean streak. It’s tough to judge OL in practice IMO. It was a big night for a guy that we haven’t heard a ton from at camp. -
Josh Allen ain’t bad

That’s how I came out of that game (and I was thrilled with the play of Peterman and McCarron). We got great play from the QBs. On that note, a game ball goes to Brian Daboll for his design. It was night and day from Rico. -

I brought up Rodgers because I don’t think any other QB (with the possible exception of Stafford as someone noted) could have made that back foot throw to Khari Lee or the TD throw to McCloud. No other QBs in the world have the requisite arm strength to get the ball, from that position, past the defender. That’s why Rodgers name came up, not because Allen is going to the HOF after 1 preseason half. In terms of Cam, he really is the appropriate comparison for Allen at this point. When he entered the league he had the same strengths and weaknesses (and size) as Allen. We are always using player comps for rookies based on that. That doesn’t mean that he will be a future MVP. It just means what he does well and what he needs to work on are similar. -

Funny that you say that because it’s exactly what I wanted to add. I’d also add Mike Love to the “good night” section. -

How about the back foot to Khari Lee right before it? That was another Rodgers special. Considering the OL he played behind and the receivers that he played with I was thrilled. He looked way better than anyone expected. -

If you came out of there unimpressed by Allen you didn’t watch the game. I was with some Steeler fans and they were blown away. The one guy was all fired up yelling at us “how can you not love this guy?!?” He was fantastic. Allen is a great athlete, with a cannon. He made 4 or 5 throws in that game that no one other than Aaron Rodgers can make. I’m excited to see him play with Corey Coleman so he can run under those bombs. Allen played with a garbage OL and CFL receivers. -

I don’t think that it is just the QB. I also don’t expect it to be much (or any) better. The OL is way worse than a year ago. The receivers were really bad last year and are again. The 5.5 number is because the big money people are pounding the under (which was 6.5 I think). The number doesnt feel that far off to me but the projection of the worst team in football does. The Bills are really good on one side of the ball and are well coached. -

Any leads on players field time for tonight

I think that game reps for him will trump game reps for them. I may be wrong but I’d guess that he gets the 2nd half. -

I don’t think that the Bills number is ridiculous but I also don’t think that they are the worst team in football. I think that the Jets, Colts, Dolphins and a few others could be worse. 5-11 or 6-10 wouldn’t shock me though. The OL is bad, the pass catchers bad and QBs bad (unless Allen bursts on the scene). The offense could be AWFUL. The defense should be really good. They are a year away from being good though IMO. -

Think the same. -

The only guess that I have is on the QBs. I think MCCarron goes 2 drives, Peterman finishes the half and Allen gets the second half. -
I’m not comparing them to Jordan but each player was considered one of the best couple players in his draft class. Mayock and Scouts Inc. had Dareus atop his class. Jeremiah had Watkins at 2. No one had those guys outside of the top 5 in their respective classes. They were blue chip prospects. We never gravitate towards blue chip players here. We never have. We fall in love with the underdog. Maybe that happens elsewhere but not anywhere else that I’ve lived besides Buffalo. In Boston they love Brady, Ortiz and Bird. In New Orleans they love Brees and Davis. We don’t fall for the HOFers like Jason Peters. We liked the idea of Mario but not the player. We hitch our wagons to the ugly duckling. I’m just going to bow out of this thread because I’ve said my piece (1,000 times). I’d encourage you guys not to respond to me because I won’t be able to resist. I’ve made my feelings felt.
