  1. I’m just not excusing them. As an example they could have picked Ju-Ju instead of Zay. That would have been a good decision. The free agent receivers that they paid in 2017 were Andre Holmes, Anquan Boldin, Philly Brown, Rod Streater, Jeremy Butler and Brandon Tate. They get the blame for that. Not one of those guys can play. They also trade for Mathews and Benjamin while trading up for Zay. That was the group that they decided was good enough after trading Watkins and letting Woods and Goodwin walk. They don’t get a pass for that or get to hide behind “the process.” That can’t be judged as anything but a massive failure.
  2. There were lots of things that they could have done instead of trading for Mathews, Kaelin Clay & Benjamin. They took guys in the 6th and 7th and some undrafted FAs. They signed journeymen receivers in Streater, Holmes & Kerley and traded up in round 2 for Zay Jones. Literally every WR decision that they have made has been wrong. The people most responsible for this are McDermott and Beane. I’m not excusing McCloud but I’m not praising McDermott for it either. This mess is on him.
  3. I don’t disagree that he should have jumped him. I guess the point is I would agree more if he was jumping Robert Woods or Sammy Watkins. It’s his fault that there are guys the quality of Ray Ray McCloud on the active roster to yell at.
  4. It doesn’t matter if they are inspired or not. They are so limited that they won’t ever make an impact. Rudy was always inspired; he just wasn’t good at football. The people most most responsible for the quality of the receivers are McDermott & Beane.
  5. So to be clear, these guys gutted the receiver room and replaced them with the worst receivers in the league. Now they are mad that these guys suck? Whose fault is that?
  6. Jets The Jets and Bills are the teams positioning themselves for 2020 and beyond. The Jets are a little ahead of the Bills at this point but that can turn.
  7. Picture the biggest Bills home game ever and then add 30,000 people. It will be PSU - OSU and nothing else. Literally the entire area will be nothing but that. They started camping out Monday. I can’t speak to PSU specifically but when Alabama plays in Baton Rouge they estimate over 300,000 people are on campus that day. It can take an hour to drive a mile. For context, Baton Rouge has a population of 227,000. I’d imagine that you are looking at approximately 200,000 plus.
  8. Unfortunately, it’s way too often that they are just former players that don’t even follow the league. The Good Morning Football crew has been pretty fair to the Bills.
  9. I’d rather have Sam Sweetheart
  10. That group likes the Bills. They seem to know them better than a lot of other talking heads and they usually have nice things to say.
  11. Can I interest you in this guy?
  12. I don’t know. Some projected Jason Peters as high as the second round. He just didn’t have a position. He was a college TE that was the size of a tackle. He was very, very raw coming out but had a chance to be special based on his physical skills. Mike Jasper was the same way. I use him so that it doesn’t look like revisionist history. Sometimes elite physical traits translate and sometimes they don’t. Foster is a former 5-star that never lived up to his status at ‘Bama. He was an afterthought and a part-time player. He was a disappointment in his time there from what they expected. Hopes of him becoming a number 1 aren’t at all realistic. We should hope that he learns to track (and catch) the deep ball. If he can develop into a 3 or 4 that can stretch the field he can be a useful player going forward. That’s a ball that Allen is always going to throw. If he can run underneath a few he can be an asset.
  13. Of course not!! He’s currently about a 4th receiver on the worst WR group in the NFL. For some context there are currently 120 or so better NFL receivers. If our goal is to have the 120th best receiver in football as our top guy we need to make it a bigger priority. Foster doesn’t look like he belongs on an NFL roster and certainly not a guy near the top of a depth chart. I guess that we are the same people that thought Nate Peterman was a viable starting option though so....you never know
  14. Happy Birthday CBF! Hope that today was as good as yesterday.
  15. I voted KC mainly because the Rams are playing a hungry Vikings team on Thursday. The Vikings are nowhere near as bad as they were yesterday. I’m not sure that they win that game but it will be a challenge.
  16. Matt Moore or Derek Anderson Nate can’t play in this league. They need to find a backup that can.
  17. I’ve been picking against the Bills in the one pool. I’m doing that for the next two weeks. I won’t pick the Titans when they come to Buffalo though.
  18. The obvious answer is Josh Allen continuing to progress. He got better as the game went along last week. It’s going to take some time to adjust to the speed of the game but today is a real test for him. The same goes for Edmunds. I thought that he was one of the best players for the Bills in Week 1. I thought he was a nightmare last week. These two guys have to become stars not just good players. They are both pretty raw so progress followed by consistency is what I’m looking for this year.
  19. I don’t think that the Bills are looking at a QB. I do think that Haskins is an elite QB prospect. He’s incredibly accurate and poised. He can (and does) make every throw. On the year he is 87-115, 75.7% completion, 1,194 yards, 16 TDs, 1 INT. It would actually be more if he played the second half of some of these games. He’s different.
  20. Dwayne Haskins is the next great college QB
