It depends where Brees finishes but I agree. If Brees plays another 2 years he’s looking at 80,000. Stafford would need to average 4,000 yards a year for the next 11 seasons. It amounts to 250 a game for 11 more years. That feels like a lot but he’s the one guy with a chance (outside of Brady). It’s the consistency and longevity that make it so tough. Someone mentioned Pete Rose earlier and that’s a great comparison.

He’s going to finish his career with the most yards, the most completions, MAYBE the most TDs (at worst 2nd most), and the highest single season completion percentage. It is VERY rare that you hear him in the discussion as the best ever. He belongs in the conversation. He has always been considered below Manning, Brady and Rodgers. I’m not sure that he belongs a tier below.

Brady won’t catch him. Brady is 2 years older and Brees opens the gap a little each year. He might not be done with 5,000 yard seasons yet. I think that he has AT LEAST 3 years left. I’m not sure that Brady will hang that long.
-
Yeah, it’s pretty insane. That’s why I’ve argued how great Brees is. The end of his career will have double the yards that Rodgers has at this point!!
-
Rodgers is almost 32,000 yards behind him at this point and will be 35 at the end of the season. I don’t see it. People don’t realize how truly incredible that number is.
-
I saw a thing the other day that if Andrew Luck has 10 straight 5,000 yard seasons, keep in mind there have been 9 such seasons in NFL history (5 of which belong to Brees), he still won’t catch him. Luck would be 39 at that point!! Also, Brees isn’t done yet. He’s going to get to 80,000+ yards. That’s the equivalent of 16 5,000 yard seasons. I don’t think we ever see anyone beat that mark.

The most underrated player of his generation is now the all-time leading passer!! Brees will end up with numbers that will never be touched. I’m not much of a Saints fan but respect the hell out of him.

MNF Washington @ New Orleans

Saints might smash them tonight. This has a big game feel around here. I am predicting that Brees not only gets his 201 yards but also the 4 TDs that he needs for 500. -
This is a really interesting look at how Drew Brees changed the entire landscape of football for the last 15 years. I didn’t see it posted elsewhere. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/24880346/alternate-drew-brees-history-lines-which-never-was-new-orleans-saints-quarterback

Quick, easy, delicious taco dip 8 oz. cream cheese 1 can hormel chili handful of shredded cheddar cheese diced jalapeños This is so easy and goes over well at any party. Take the cream cheese in a pie tin and spread to cover the entire bottom and even on the side. Open the chili can and spread it on top of the cream cheese layer. Next, take some diced jalapeños and scatter them throughout the chili. I also use a little of the juice from the jalapeños depending on how spicy you want it. Cover the top with the shredded cheese and bake at 350 for 15-17 minutes. This is whole thing can be done in 20 minutes start to finish and it is always a hit!!

For those that say McDermott is a younger jauron
Kirby Jackson replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The defense is definitely solid. The offense is a nightmare. One of the best things that I can say about McDermott is that he wins when he has a chance. The Bills had one of the worst point differentials in the league last year and went to the playoffs. That’s because of games like today, they end up on the right side of them. They execute and don’t make mistakes. That’s offsets some of their physical limitations. -

McDermott is WAY more aggressive than Jauron was. He isn’t scared to go on 4th and would never punt from the 35. McDermott is a good football coach. His team just isn’t very good.- 89 replies

That’s all that I am saying. He excelled with adding pro talent and pro talent that was overlooked. That’s much harder to do than to acquire Khalil Mack. If you add a star and he’s a star I’m not impressed. If you add guy like Zach Brown and Lorenzo Alexander and they flourish I am impressed. FWIW, his staff was really strong on that end as well. It wasn’t just him but there is no denying that they succeeded there.
-
It’s a simple question. Did he succeed when it comes to pro personnel? That’s ALL that we are talking about. The answer is unequivocally a yes. He did not succeed in cap management, finding a QB and was just okay in the draft. We can be so dumb that we can’t separate those things. The question was “would he be a good pro personnel director?” Based on his resume the answer is absolutely. The reality though is that it will never happen here and that’s fine.
-
Clearly he wasn’t an all-around failure. I listed like 5 moves that were pro bowl caliber players on minimal salaries. Whaley excelled on the pro side. Again, you hate him but you are dead wrong if you can’t admit the success that he had there. The Bills got guys, for very little, that provided big contributions. The book hasn’t been written on Beane but the first few chapters aren’t very good. This is one of the least talented Bills teams that over ever seen. They did try to clear the deck though so we will know more next year. The early returns on the pro side though have not been good at all. Can you share that quote? I hadn’t seen it.
-
You can give 0% credit to the GM if it helps your agenda. That’s not reality though. He absolutely was in on those 2. Beane can have Matthews, Benjamin, Philly Brown, Duccase, Leonard Johnson.... The pro records between the 2 isn’t even up for debate. There is no comparison on the pro side. Now I like how Beane has navigated the draft and think that he’s drafted alright (assuming Allen can play). We aren’t taking about the draft though. We are discussing pro personnel.
-
Okay, he was 100% in control in March of that year. He held the job into May. If you don’t want to count them because you hate Whaley (which you’ve made clear a lot) I’ll take Shady, Alexander and Richie. Please, please, please try to stack Beane’s pro personnel record side-by-side. You can own Jordan Matthews and Kelvin Benjamin.
