Harrison Phillips. Role model.
Kirby Jackson replied to Codyny13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m glad that you started this thread @Codyny13. It just dawned on me the other day how incredibly active he’s been this offseason. He’s out that 99 jersey on more time since the season ended than when it was going on. He seems like a great young man and a guy that we are lucky to have. -
Ha ha, I have been!! He’s still leaving because he’s a beta but Zion and AD trade assets is a good start.

I’ll be picking it up tomorrow

PanchoBilla enters Hospice (Has now passed away)
Kirby Jackson replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This is such a sad day but in many ways a day to be proud. Ezra’s battle was an inspiration to everyone and the way that the Bills embraced he and his family unparalleled. We are different. This fan base, community and team are different. Pancho was a perfect example of that. This does not happen ANYWHERE else. There is one team and one fan base in all of sports that is like this. While it’s terrible to see such a young, decent man, succumb to cancer it is special the way that he was embraced. RIP Ezra and Viva Los Bills!!- 601 replies

I haven’t been paying attention to this thread but I’m subscribing to the theory that there are more dragons. If you watched the preview for this week Tyrion is at Dragonstone. He is looking out perplexed. Why else would he head there from the gates of King’s Landing? At the end you hear a dragon and see a surprised look on Euron’s face.

does any team still use DE who mainly set edge?
Kirby Jackson replied to Orlando Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of my thoughts, he’s a solid player. He’s not a great pass rusher but he isn’t terrible. He is really good against the run. He’s going to get a contract similar to what Murphy got IMO. Well said -
We should have cut Peterman before his first season and he was a 5th.

Great topic and congrats!! I have a few that jump out but one hole really sticks out because it was back-to-back. It was the 2nd hole at Tan Tara, a 531 yard par 5. Ironically, my birthday is 5/31. Anyways, I hit my tee shot down there just over 300 yards leaving me about 225 from the hole. I hit a hybrid in that bounced up, hit the stick and landed about 2 inches from the hole for a tap in eagle. Ive never had a double eagle or a hole-in-one. I’ve holed out a couple of times and have pitched/chipped in a bunch. I also hit a 70 foot putt last year which was pretty wild. With that being said though that par 5 has stuck with me the most and it was probably 15-17 years ago. I have played in a group with an ace once and that was the coolest thing that I’ve experienced while playing.

Trade Lawson and a 2020 draft pick for Clowney?
Kirby Jackson replied to tomur67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of where I’m at. The $ is totally irrelevant at this point. The Bills could sign Clowney and AJ Green (or something like that) and wouldn’t even know the difference. The salary cap is a non-issue and borderline non-consideration for the Bills at this point. Try to front load whatever money in case Josh turns into the player that we all hope. That’s still a few years away though. This is the time. -
Trade Lawson and a 2020 draft pick for Clowney?
Kirby Jackson replied to tomur67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lawson and a 2nd works for me assuming an extension is worked out. I don’t see it happening but would be fine with it. -
Whether he can play or not is another question but with those physical skills he will be on an active roster. The Bills traded up into round 3 to make sure that they secured him. He’s an absolute lock IMO but if, for some reason, they were to try to get him to the PS it wouldn’t happen. There are 31 other teams that would have to pass on him before we could get him to the PS. That just won’t happen for the 96th overall pick. That’s what I said
-
Knox will never make it to the PS. He will be on an active roster this year. With those physical skills someone will pluck him before we can get him to the PS.

Great article on Devin Singletary
Kirby Jackson replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for posting this!! I was certainly in the minority when it came to this pick but I really liked it. Singletary is a special player and seems to be a really good kid. It’s going to be exciting to watch him when he gets his turn. -
Yeah, I have no issue with him not coming back. I like where they stand at the position. Mills isn’t terrible though. Everyone is ready to hand Dawkins a free pass and plug him in at LT but Mills was the better player last year. He’s a borderline starter in the NFL. This isn’t like some division rival handing Peterman the keys.

Makes sense, everyone hates to hear it but skills was arguably the Bills best OL last year. He’s not great but is a borderline starter.

TE Lee Smith visiting Bills
Kirby Jackson replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get it but that still doesn’t answer my question. Neither of them needs to make it IMO. If we are worried about short yardage or whatever I’d rather have Waddle in there or Teller or whomever. An OL is certainly a better blocking option. If the guy doesn’t provide anything in the passing game you should just run a 6th OL our there. -
He’s the guy I wanted. He’s the guy that I think is the best fit. He’s an elite talent. He wants to be in Buffalo. I couldn’t be happier to have him.

TE Lee Smith visiting Bills
Kirby Jackson replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone please explain to me the advantage of playing a “blocking TE” that absolutely is no threat in the passing game as opposed to an extra OL? -

I do think that there are places he fits better like NE, KC, Rams, Saints, Browns and maybe even someone like the Texans. Watson is still productive (although not as productive as 5 years ago). He is a “can’t miss” vet presence that any team could use. From his standpoint though, I’m not sure he should go to ANY team that isn’t a Super Bowl contender at age 38 or 39 or whatever he is.
-
Ben Watson is, arguably, the best locker room presence in the NFL. He has been a finalist for the Walter Payton Man of the Year twice (3 guys are finalists each year in the entire league). He has one of the highest wonderlic scores a player has ever had at 48 (tied with Ryan Fitzpatrick). He’s caught 96 balls for 922 yards and 6 TDs over the last 2 years. How could anyone object to this guy coming into the locker room for a year or 2?

Which of these do we need to retire first?
Kirby Jackson replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FWIW, I’ve heard that they aren’t nearly as on the same page as we believe (which is probably a credit to them). They aren’t at odds with each other but they aren’t inseparable either as I understand it. They have their fair share of disagreements which ultimately results in “who’s role is this?” There is no debate on that end of it. They both probably wanted Oliver as that was an easy decision. -

I guess that it is If I knew how to block someone I’d make you my first. ?
