  1. That’s where I’d lean. There are some great pass rushers in this draft but he and Oliver (who is more like Donald) are the only 2 that I’d stay put for. If the Bills wind up with a top 2 or 3 pick and can get one of them I’d do it. Otherwise, I’d take the best offer to slide back. I’d still be tempted to go DL at 8 (or wherever they slide back to) because the value is so good. You could go other positions there though as well. I don’t think you can go anywhere but DL at the top of the draft.
  2. The answer is that a QB or pass rusher can change your franchise’s outlook. Look what Mahomes and Khalil Mack are doing. With that being said, it’s more about getting a ton of assets IMO. There isn’t a single NFL player that will be traded for 3 1sts but it’s been done for picks to get a QB. If you are really bad you can get good value in every round and get a boatload of picks.
  3. Just thinking out loud here but are other teams in on this too? We ONLY discuss the possibility of the Eagles. What if teams like Washington, Baltimore or Carolina were interested? That feels reasonable to me. What difference does his salary make if it isn’t impacting any decisions? There is ZERO chance that the few million in cap savings make any difference. The Bills are going to be CRAZY aggressive this offseason and will still be $30M plus from the 2019 salary cap. The money isn’t an issue!!
  4. The money is irrelevant. McCoy’s contract won’t stop the Bills from making a single move. They have more cap space than they will be able to spend over the next two years. The money ISN’T a factor in this decision. It’s about getting an asset that can help when this team is ready to compete.
  5. That’s kind of where I am. The only way that dealing McCoy makes sense is if proper value comes back.
  6. Trust the process is the sixers thing. McDermott & co stole it. Outside of Bills fans though the whole country knows it as the sixers slogan. Their best player is even called “The Process.” I’m not sure anyone (outside of us) associates “trust the process” with the Bills.
  7. I’m thinking it’s a 2nd and a player (Clement) for McCoy and a 4th (or something like that). The Bills don’t just want “a” pick back. It has to be a day 2 pick at the latest. They want something to turn into a starter or they won’t make the deal.
  8. Pretty standard His kids are in school. He can go home on Monday Nights. He isn’t here past this year. He’s here because of the train wreck that wears number 2 (and plays like number 2). Next year there will be new faces in the room with Josh Allen.
  9. I guess that the way that I look at it is that I’d rather have the all-pro and the average guy than 2 slightly above average. I’d rather have: - Tre White and Jordan Mills than EJ Gaines and Dion Dawkins. I believe that you need stars.
  10. You raise some interesting questions but I’m sticking by my guns. If you have a choice between a guy that you graded as an All-Pro vs. an above average starter I’m taking the All-Pro. As an example, I’d take Nick Bosa ahead of Jonah Williams next year. Bosa, to me, is a lights out pass rusher. OT is a bigger need and I like Williams but I can find an average starter in the next round. I probably can’t find an above average pass rusher there. The drop down from elite to good is a big one. I’d rather drop from good to average than from elite to good. I hope that this makes sense.
  11. I’m not going to knock EJ but that draft was a perfect example. It was a combination of drafting for need in a draft with a terrible QB class. QBs naturally get pushed up the board but get pushed up even higher when the class isn’t good. So you are taking a 4th round project at pick 16. The opposite happens in a strong and deep class. You may get a DE this year at 37 that graded out like Davenport last year who cost the Saints 2 1sts. It is just a good (and deep) group. When the draft’s strength matches up with your needs you are in good shape. Regardless though you ALWAYS have to go talent over need. Need can break ties but talent has to come first.
  12. 3rd round is day 2. We are talking about using something like 106 and 143 to get into the 90’s. There are roughly 100 picks in the first 2 days.
  13. You kind of contradict yourself here. You say that “they basically need everyone but draft for need.” Good teams never draft for need. That’s what FA is for. The draft is for enhancing your talent level.
  14. Would it be much different though? Reilly is still sitting at home. He isn’t worth being outraged over. He looked like he belonged on the roster but is no more than a back of the roster talent. I’m much more outraged that they thought NP could play.
  15. I guess that I look at this team as one with a lot of holes. I think that they could need up to 9 starters on offense and a couple on defense. If they end up picking 4 times in the first 100 picks I don’t think 4 starters is unreasonable with this roster. They should have 3 top 70 picks already. You really only need to hit on one Johnson or Milano and you are at that number. As Bandit mentioned, you may see some picks swapped for players as well.
  16. I don’t expect them to use all 10 picks. I expect them to use those picks to move up for specific guys that they have been trying to get. As an example, the Bills trade their 4th and a 5th to move back up to the end of day 2 if there is a player that they love. I expect them to pull 4 to 5 starters from the draft and hopefully some improved depth.
  17. The Bills would have won the Texans for sure but does it matter? What difference is 3-4 vs. 2-5? This team isn’t going anywhere. This year is about 1 thing, developing Allen. Hopefully, he’s back soon and shows improvement in the 2nd half.
  18. Who is going to flame that idea? I think that every reasonable person would be willing to cut the worst QB of all-time.
  19. I’m not sure that the Bills situation is what Pat Pete is hoping for if he gets out of Arizona. With that being said, he and Tre would make this defense elite. I’m always okay with LSU DBs. I’d offer a 2nd and the KC 4th. I doubt that’s enough but you’d pretty much have the defense taken care of. I’d then see what I could get for Benjamin. You can focus the rest of your picks and FA money on improving the offense.
  20. Ha ha, I couldn’t figure out where to put Prince. They talked about him in the 1st. He’s terrible. I dropped him to the 5th and that might be generous.
  21. They can probably do something like: - Kendall Sheffield rd. 2 - Isaiah Prince rd. 5 - Mike Weber rd.6 - Terry McLaurin rd 6 - Damon Arnette rd 7 - Johnnie Dixon rd 7 They have to try to add 6 Buckeyes right?
  22. The Saints 2019 draft is pretty much complete
