  1. I LOVE this!! As far as I am concerned the Jets are the other team on the rise in this division. Harbaugh ASSURES that they will never win big games. I’ll miss him at ttun but will be thrilled to have him in the AFC East.
  2. Part of the reason that it didn’t work with Benjamin (and Funchess has the same problem) is that teams have gone to bigger corners to counteract the big receivers. That “he’s open when he’s not” doesn’t really exist anymore. The big guys that succeed all have speed (sub 4.5). The ones that don’t can’t separate. The other receivers that succeed have elite speed. You need to make chunk plays. It’s too hard to consistently win needing 12 play drives IMO. The most explosive offenses are the best teams (and that list no longer includes the Pats). Fair
  3. I totally disagree with this piece. It takes speed to open up the rest of the field. The Bills offense is the perfect example of that. Before inserting McKenzie and Foster they were trending towards the worst offense in history. TE play has declined in recent years. Ertz, Kittle and Kelce are good but the position is in a much worse place than 5 years ago. The only big possession guys making a difference now are Julio, Evans and Thomas. Julio runs a 4.39 and Evans a 4.43. They are speed guys. The other top receivers in football are Brown, Smith-Schuster, Diggs, Adams (maybe an exception but has Rodgers), Thielen, Hill, Green, Hopkins, Hilton, Cooks and Beckham. They are ALL speed guys.
  4. All different guys though. Old Art had his demons. Smith was never going to be a pro. Barrett was the same. Cardale was super raw and all or nothing. Haskins is a 1st round pick. He reminds me of Matt Ryan. We will see how it turns out.
  5. Yeah, that’s right. He was a 4th. He had MASSIVE upside. There is no doubt about that. He also had an incredibly low floor. He was either going to be a Pro Bowl QB or never see the field. He was huge, with a big arm, and a lot of athleticism.
  6. I’m of the general belief that if a rule doesn’t make any sense there is no reason for it to be a rule. I’m not surprised that so many are outraged by this. When you factor in the history of this particular official you can’t help but wonder if it was racially motivated? Add in the fact that he was a kid and it’s even worse. It’s almost 2019 there is no place for this kind of abuse of power.
  7. Right now there is no doubt that Lynn is ahead of McDermott. It’s not even a debate. With that being said I think that “the right HC” varies from team to team. McDermott tried to change the culture which was important coming from Rex. I don’t think that he’s a great HC at this point but the tone he set was an important one.
  8. Is this question real? I’m on record as saying Kelly is one of the most overrated players in history. He is 30,000x better than Mark Rypien.
  9. Yeah, it’s not ideal but I don’t think that the offense should get it at the goal line either. It’s somewhat punitive but a decent compromise.
  10. I have a different solution. I think that the offense should retain possession but the ball should go back to the 20. The defense shouldn’t get the ball by default but the offense should face a little bit of hurt.
  11. You just quietly sit in the back. You have to leave your cellphone with the security outside of the room. I wish I had some say...
  12. Yeah, it was a trade up too. It was interesting but in hindsight it was a TERRIBLE decision.
  13. I like the decision. Barkley feels like a good fit for that role.
  14. I was in for one pick, John McCargo
  15. Ha ha Honestly, at this point I think it’s pretty BS that he is in the league and others aren’t. He’s a try hard, nice guy, scrub QB. I wouldn’t want some less qualified guy taking a job from me. Whatever though, he’s going to fail there anyways.
  16. You really are going to die on this hill aren’t you? He is literally the worst QB ever. At this point he is stealing money and opportunities from more deserving players. He’s an atrocious player that doesn’t belong anywhere near an NFL field. I don’t feel happy for Nate. I feel sorry for guys getting passed over for an opportunity like Logan Woodside. Peterman had a lot of chances for a player of his ability and pedigree. He was a complete and utter disaster. There are plenty of other guys that never got that chance that are WAY more deserving at this point.
  17. While not a perfect system, the 2 way contract is a decent model for the “protected guys.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/nba/2017/7/18/15985262/nba-two-way-contract-2017-summer-league-agents-worried-about-them
  18. I don’t disagree. That was part of my reasoning for a few “protected PS” players. It can work like the 2 way contracts in the NBA. There are a few guys that can go back and forth between the G-League and the active roster. So if 53 is the active roster and you have 4 2-way guys, you can keep most rosters fairly close. It’s the easiest way to get it done. It’s the path of least resistance.
  19. This is a great explanation but it will get put through. The players will SCREAM player safety and the owner’s will have to acquiesce. My guess is that the whole roster is active on game days, practice squads expand, and some level of protection for a certain number of guys on the PS. So maybe you can “protect” 3 or 4 guys on your PS & the PS moves to 12. Something like that seems to make sense.
  20. Already been ordered. It’s a couple hundred bucks extra but people say it’s worth it.
  21. You were spot on when it came to Peterman. It really is INCREDIBLE that anyone in, or around, the game can look at that guy and think there’s a chance!! He’s the worst ever and is being handed opportunities that he doesn’t deserve. Why is he in the league and Logan Woodside isn’t? What about Bo Levi Mitchell? Brogan Roback? The point being WHY does he continue to get chances despite failing at every turn? If the plan is to “strike lightning in a bottle” I’d take my chances with a guy that hasn’t failed with every chance.
  22. I am less handy than that!! Ha ha, that’s why i hadn’t to go this route.
