  1. It’s probably both (plus any obstructed view seats). We used to report a capacity of 16,188 but there were many a playoff game where we had over 18,000 in the building.
  2. You can’t estimate $0 because they wouldn’t have been able to start the year. There is/was a bare minimum number to reach the expenses and they didn’t hit it (not surprising). One of my best friends is the COO of one of the AFL teams and I have the EXACT concern. He’s a smart guy and has a ton of experience but I have little to no faith that the league will work this time. I thought that it was a short-sighted and stupid decision on his part.
  3. It’s the revenue number that was an estimate. The expenses are/were pretty easy to define but the revenue numbers are a total projection. Obviously season tickets, groups, sponsorships, etc... are pretty stable but those variable revenues (single game tickets, concessions, etc..) are a crapshoot.
  4. I mean we can easily do the exact same twitter poll. It’s just tough to get 150k votes without someone with a big (and neutral) following. As an example, and I hate him, Skip Baylee’s has 2.8M followers. If he were to tweet out that poll we would have a real answer. OBJ has 3.8M followers but if he tweeted it out obviously it would heavily lean towards the Browns.
  5. We need to have someone with a real, and neutral, following start a rival poll with Bills vs. Browns. We can spin all of the traffic there to get a real answer.
  6. That’s the kind of move that may make sense. Resurrecting the NFL Europe is an option too. You aren’t going to have success here with minor league football. These teams are NEVER going to be higher than the 2nd most popular team in a market and in some cases may be a 3rd or 4th option. If you are in Orlando for example you might like the Bucs, the Gators and UCF more than the Apollos. How are they supposed to compete? Who is paying for that?
  7. Yeah, it certainly may negatively impact other sports but so be it. Football is the cash cow. Big 10 schools are getting $52M a piece, per year for the TV deal. The history and wealth of college football programs will never be competed with. The alumni and the TV networks will never allow that to happen.
  8. Won’t happen though, because the NCAA will just adjust if this ever happened. They’d start paying players or doing whatever was necessary. They have tons of money and power. No startup league could ever possibly compete with their might.
  9. Twitter is amazing!! I’ve been there for just over 10 years (10 years last week actually). You can find everything that you could possibly want within 5 seconds. It’s quick, interesting and can be customized to your interests. It is far and away the best social media platform IMO.
  10. Why should they support it? The real players have ALWAYS come straight from the college ranks. The NFL has no reason to throw away money on trying to find a handful of players to play special teams. This league would be a complete waste of money for them. Additionally, no player worth $.10 is going to risk injury for $80K a year. Even a minor injury could knock these guys out of an NFL opportunity and 5-10X the money. There has never been and will never be a successful minor league for football. You will have college football on Saturdays and the NFL on Sundays.
  11. That is TERRIBLE
  12. To my original question then, “why shouldn’t they be out for themselves?” The team can cut ties and cancel a contract whenever they want. Why shouldn’t the players be able to do the same? Why is it a bad thing to maximize your worth? Their earning window is less than 10 years long. Why is it bad to make as much as you can in that period? I will NEVER understand that logic and I give my reasons in an earlier post. The team isn’t ever in jeopardy of running out of money or space. It is so, so, so, so easy to create. That is something that the owner’s hide behind to not pay a player more. It’s a bs reason. You aren’t “hurting the team” by asking for more money. You are hurting the billionaires that have to pay it. Again, why root for billionaires over millionaires?
  13. I’m going to go with Iman Marshall. He was a big recruit that started 4 years at USC. His last 2 years weren’t as effective but he may have not yet recovered from his knee injury as a junior. Some question his athleticism but he has the size to be good in cover 2. I just think he will be a productive player in a system similar to ours.
  14. Yep My main point originally was, “why do fans look at a guy taking less money as a good thing?” I don’t want to hear someone talking about, “the ability to load up the rest of your roster either.” The top guys are all within a couple million of each other and NO team is ever in a position where they are up against the cap with no other options. As an example the Bills have like $6M of cap space between Ivory (already released), Bodine and Vlad. That doesn’t include Murphy or Dimarco who can create another $3.5M or so. The cap isn’t restricting anybody ever. For some reason though fans take great offense when a guy wants more money. They say things like, “honor the contract that you signed.” Why should the player honor it when the team doesn’t have to? The situation changes. If you don’t live up to your end of the contract the team can wash their hands. If you exceed your current contract why shouldn’t the same rules apply? Why side with billionaires instead of millionaires? It doesn’t make any sense yet people always look at these guys as “divas.” Fans get so triggered when a player wants more money. That is what’s stupid. They aren’t doing anything wrong. They are playing the EXACT hand that they are dealt. You don’t see NBA players holding out or asking for more money. That’s because both sides agree to a contract and honor it. Football made these rules and this is the only way that the players can protect their earnings. We shouldn’t dislike “divas” who ask for more money. We should understand the “why” and not care at all. It’s not our money. You don’t want your friend, the plumber, to not get a raise because it will limit what else the plumbing company can do. Why do that with football players? Why is it wrong for an employee to ask for a raise? The rest of us do it all of the time.
  15. I think that’s stupid. I question the decision making of anyone that doesn’t maximize their value. Their earning windows are small and their contracts aren’t guaranteed. I think that’s stupid.
  16. This guy doesn’t want a raise!! That means we like him right? We don’t like “divas” that want more money correct?
  17. I don’t disagree. I’m just using Draftek
  18. I don’t even hate the trade down but would hate that draft. Just using the players available after the trade down my draft would look like this: 15 - Hockenson 40 - Simmons 74 - Winovich 76 - Khalen Saunders 96 - McLaurin 112 - Miles Sanders 131 - Love 147 - Titus Howard 181 - Tauaefa 225 - Dawson Knox 228 - Anthony Johnson This would be an absolute home run. You take 2 injured high upside guys in Simmons and Love and insulate them with Saunders and Sanders.
  19. Just follow the money!! This conversation isn’t about fan experience or watching the game. The Pegula’s, NFL and other owners want the Bills to make more money. That’s the reason that this discussion is being had. NY and Erie County want to spend as little as possible on this endeavor. There is NOTHING else relevant to the conversation. It’s just a matter of where in the middle they meet.
