That’s the league with Brady’s agent? That’s at least a novel idea but it has no prayer. The Big 10 Media Deal is worth $2.64B over 6 years. How can some minor league EVER compete with that? These minor leagues generate 1/1000th of a percent. It’s just never going to happen. I’d bet every dime that I have that all of these league’s fail. In 3-5 years some other former league exec will start the next one, rinse, wash, repeat. Not a replacement and not within 37,000,000,000 miles are not the same though. It’s like saying, “I’m not Josh Allen’s replacement, yet.” I never will be and none of these leagues will ever touch college sports (or come within 37,000,000,000 miles). International ale is a chance at a functioning minor league (and that’s already failed a few times).

Is it though? The guy catches 35 balls a year. He’s firmly an NFL player at this point but he’s no different than a lot of guys (like Foster) that almost never got an opportunity. He was given an opportunity and end up being a functioning back of the depth chart WR. He’s the Trevor Siemian of wide receivers. At the same time, Hogan produced the same in Buffalo as he did in New England. He is a smart guy and a good blocker. He gets no separation (at all) and is just okay because of it. He had 6 targets and as many catches as me on Sunday. He just isn’t any good. He’s Andre Holmes without the ST ability.

Honestly in a lot of ways I feel emboldened by that at the moment. Hogan has been the product of opportunity. He’s just like any other bottom of the roster scrub. He has averaged 2.2 catches per game in his career and less than 30 yards. I firmly believe, given the same opportunity, Rogers would have had a better career. I don’t really want to head down that road again but I will take talent 100% of the time. You can throw a rock and find a Chris Hogan. Robert Foster is WAY better and he was an undrafted rookie.

That’s not any better. We had the reigning league MVP in for a workout this offseason and no one even noticed. The reality is is minor league football will never exist in North America. College Football is WAY too big. You can try to jumpstart some international interest like what happened in basketball 30 years ago. It has created solid leagues around the world. Way too much of an injury risk in football to expose your prospects to extra games. This is the league where washed up guys will shoot for one more shot at glory. I am just hoping that Freddie Jackson and Boobie Dixon stay away!!

I just don’t see it. It will never compete with college football or the NFL. Coaches will always have had some level of success in one of those 2 levels before getting elevated. It will be a haven for washed up coaches and players. NFL teams will take their shots still on “needs seasoning” guys and will either keep them or PS the. This holds especially true with the expanded PS. This league, like all minor league football, will inevitably fail.

Who's more overrated...goff or mcvay
Kirby Jackson replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me, it is 2 different questions. Goff is overrated because he isn’t very good. McVay is better at his job than Goff is at his. With that being said, McVay was a bigger problem in the Super Bowl than Goff. -
Super Bowl Ratings Hit 10-Year Low
Kirby Jackson replied to RalphWilson'sNewWar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure how much any of you were following the “Boycott Bowl” Festivities but... -
It’s an interesting question. I’ll say no because I think that they would have encountered more resistance (and more road playoff games) if they would have been trudging through the AFC North. They would still be great (and all-time great) I’m just not sure it would be 6 Super Bowl wins and 9 appearances great.

Tyrod Taylor has 'nothing but love' for Buffalo

Tyrod Taylor has 'nothing but love' for Buffalo

You were an EJ guy and making my point. It’s amazing the guy says “I have nothing but love for Buffalo” and that set some people here OFF!! It’s crazy. He was a decent QB that helped the team and moved on when it was time. No one should have issues but some do... -

It’s funny, that the people that wanted EJ to win the QB battle have never come to terms that Tyrod was absolutely the best option at the time. He delivered a winning record as the Bills QB and ended the drought. He handled himself with class the entire time. Tyrod is a guy that we should remember fondly. He was a decent QB that didn’t lose games.- 167 replies

I know all of that but think I’m a decent litmus rest. I’m a MASSIVE sports fan. I follow everything and watch games daily, all year. I work in an office of 115 people and am comfortable in saying that I am the biggest sports fan in the office. With that being said, I don’t know when this league starts, I don’t know who is playing or where the teams are (and don’t care). If someone with my level of passion doesn’t care I have a hard time believing that they can build a sustainable league. They 1,000% need people like me committed but beyond that they probably need another 10% of that 115 person sample size. This is a group filled with SEC alums and NFL season ticket holders. These are football people, in football country and no one cares. I’m going to let it play out and I hope I’m wrong. I just don’t see any interest.

We will see. Lots of places have tried it and it failed. San Diego didn’t support the Chargers I don’t see them falling over themselves for the minor league version. I’m sticking with the o/u of a year. People keep trying these leagues and they keep failing. I expect more of the same.
-
I won’t watch a single play. It is a low level CFL (and we don’t have a CFL sub forum). It will never see season 2. People just aren’t interested in minor league sports.

They are pretty phony. I have plenty of stories of both of them because I had a good friend that played with them. I got to know a bunch of the guys pretty well. They loved those guys but those guys are not without flaws.

Sean Payton is such an arrogant jerk. He’s a great football coach (terrible husband).

Most Realistic 3 Round Mock from Draft Wire
Kirby Jackson replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, the Bills desperately need pass catchers and OL. I guess that you can’t be mad at any mock draft that gives you 2 of each in the first 74 picks. -
That’s basically what he is now. Josh showed great improvement after Anderson came on board. He’s an experienced guy that has seen pretty much everything in the league. His role now is to share some of that tribal knowledge with Josh.
