Best one year wonder?
Kirby Jackson replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can’t believe that I haven’t seen Sam Cowart yet?!? He looked like he was going to be a HOfer and that injury ended him. -
It has NO CHANCE of competing with college football. No one grew up a Birmingham Iron’s fan but they will kill a man who says “War Eagle.” For some realistic perspective there was a better chance of the Buffalo Destroyers replacing the Bills than there is the Iron’s replacing Alabama. Big 10 schools get $51M each, every year, from their media deal. That is just the media deal!! How is some XFL or AAF team ever going to recruit a kid that has an offer from OSU, Clemson, Alabama, ND, etc?!? It is never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever going to happen. These leagues aren’t competition. They NEVER will compete with the Power 5 conferences or the NFL.

It says it’s about as bad as the dozen or so other leagues that folded almost immediately. I have set the o/u at 1 year. That’s how these things go. Last week they couldn’t wait to boast about their ratings. It is pretty convenient that they haven’t released anything from week 2. This is pretty much the exact same thing that happened with the XFL. It will inevitably crash and burn.

I’m with WEO on this. I’m not sure the Pats “couldn’t handle” Josh Gordon. In fact, they did a pretty good job (to great job) with him. They got him cheap knowing that he was an addict. The Patriots handled that situation fine and even better at the end as they are paying for his rehab. The Pats and Gordon needed each other.

Best/Worst QB - Kelly/Van Pelt?
Kirby Jackson replied to Nuncha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s pre-Peterman though. He was drafted months after that was written. -
Jarvis Landry World Record

I can’t wait for Patrick Peterson and Nate Peterman to break it ? -
Best/Worst QB - Kelly/Van Pelt?

This is the truth. He is statistically the worst ever. He isn’t just bad. NP is a different kind of terrible. -
Best/Worst QB - Kelly/Van Pelt?

I think that EJ stinks. He stinks though in the realm of other bad Bills QBs (Trent, Losman, Collins). Nate Peterman stinks more than any QB ever. He wasn’t a “bad Bills QB.” He was Hackenberg bad. You could pretty much put ANY player to ever take snaps in the NFL in and get better results. -
Post your mock draft here

I was kind of against it but I don’t hate the idea of a high ruling QB like Tyree Jackson. He’s likely to flame out but IF you strike lightning in a bottle you are set. I wouldn’t take a high floor/low ceiling QB. You can always find those guys. I would want a toolsy prospect. -
Best/Worst QB - Kelly/Van Pelt?

In terms of Brees I think that there is a case to be made. He has made the playoffs every time that his defense was 25th or better (something like that). He is right near the top of the list. In terms of Peterman/EJ you can’t just overlook the facts. Peterman completed 52.3% of his passes to his guys and 9.2% to the defense. He averages 4.2 YPA. Basically if he dropped back to throw 100 times his numbers would look like this: 52-100, 420 yards, 2.3 TDs and 9.2 INTs. That is ACTUALLY the worst of anyone ever. EJ was bad. However, in the same 100 throws he would look like this: 58-100, 640 yards, 3 1/2 TDs, 2.7 INTs. Neither guy is any good but one made more plays and (significantly) less mistakes. -
Best/Worst QB - Kelly/Van Pelt?

I think that the expectations are clouding your judgement. EJ certainly was a massive disappointment but he wasn’t a worse player than Nate. It’s reasonable to say that you liked EJ less because he was projected to be a much better player. It’s impossible to argue that Peterman performed better (than literally anyone else). By statistical measures he is the worst QB of all-time. -
Best/Worst QB - Kelly/Van Pelt?

This is where I was heading. He is literally the worst QB ever!!! There’s a lot of hyperbole to add other people around NP but he’s the answer. He is actually the worst QB to ever play. -
Hey man, you can be skeptical of whatever you feel necessary. You can agree with me or not; I don’t really care. I promise that everything I’ve said is true.

Yeah, and the Browns were an absolute dumpster fire at that point. They were the 1 exception to the rule. They have had 3 or 4 different GMs since that point and were like 1-31 at one point (or something). For the extra couple million it wasn’t worth it (plus the guaranteed portion from the Bills was massive). This situation worked out perfectly for Clay. I’m sure that he doesn’t regret his decision for 2 seconds. He made $33.5M over 4 years to be a guy. He’s not mad. It’s not. I know a bunch of people that have been through it. It’s business above all else to every single guy that I’ve ever encountered (and I worked in pro sports for a decade). This isn’t high school sports. The goal isn’t championships. That’s the fans goal (not that anyone wants to lose). The goal is to provide for their families (and sometimes generations of family). That comes way before anything else.
-
Yeah, I bet that he’s PISSED that he got $33.5M for 4 years in Buffalo. That’s really got to set him off.

I think that he’s more likely than AB. He has drama too but not directly related to the Bills. He isn’t toxic. Glazer seems to think OBJ is getting dealt this offseason. I would like if the Bills moved back and then dealt a 1st for him. Ideally they would trade 9 for 24 & 27 in that scenario. They can send the Giants 24 and one of their 4ths. I think something like that may get it done. Even if it’s 24 and our 3rd so be it. The Bills can always move back up into round 3 if they want. I would be cool going into Day 3 of the draft with: OBJ Risner Simmons Pierschbacher

Anyone get a stadium focused group invite.
Kirby Jackson replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The PSLs will be with the best locations and amenities. There will be many, many more tiers in the future (they already started on that). The Bills will know what the market can support. It’s going to be a public/private partnership like they all are. The Bills are just doing their due dilligence on the private part. -
Anyone that thinks that Poyer and AB would be fine being in the same locker room is wrong. It’s potentially toxic and not a possibility. There is not a chance that both guys are on the roster. For some reason people think that these guys wouldn’t care. Would you work with a guy that your wife cheated on you with the day before your wedding? Of course not!! There is a trickle down too. Poyer is VERY close to Tre and Hyde. All of a sudden there are cliques and allegiances and it’s messy. It isn’t happening here. They have worked so hard to build the culture, they aren’t going to light a match to it by adding AB.

What do you want to see this offseason: TRADES
Kirby Jackson replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s certainly a “best case scenario” but at least there is SOME level of logic to it. The Vikings are a flawed team. If they had 3 picks in the top 50 (or whatever it is) they could do something like: Polite, Samuel and Lindstrom. I don’t think that there is a deal there to be had but the Bills should at least pick up the phone.
