I’ve got it all figured out.
Tomorrow:
- Sign Ansah
- Cut: Murphy, Bodine, Ivory, Vlad
- Trade 2nd and 4th to Bengals for AJ Green and work out a 4 year extension
Lastly, book your Super Bowl Reservations
Without being too difficult (and lazy) do you have a rough estimate of what 2020 will look like then? I would think that the Bills are still in a good position.
That doesn’t account for the $6M or so more that they will get with the release of Vlad, Ivory and Bodine correct? I am almost assuming those as definites which would put them in the $21M range to spend.
So we are probably looking closer to $30M?
I was trying to figure it out last night and have nothing. I was even trying to figure out the agents that are located there. The jet will be in Chicago right before the official start of FA and coming back a little after. I have no idea though.
The way they structured these contracts though they have plenty of flexibility. Nsekhe is going to be the RT. You’d still have the 23rd pick which is probably prime territory for an OT (Dillard, Ford, or Little). You may even have a shot at Jonah Williams there. If you are taking a pass rusher at 9 you are hoping he becomes a pro bowler. Clowney is already that. With Hughes being in the final year of his deal (and Shaq) you need a known quantity. I’m fine with Ansah too and am fine drafting one early. I just think it needs to be addressed.
Personally, I have no issue giving up the 4th. The Bills have 10 picks and probably don’t have 10 roster spots. If they go to 23 they will have a chance to get Noah Fant or maybe even Hockenson or Wilkins. I’d rather have Clowney (and his salary) + Fant over Ferrell (for example) + a 4th. The money is irrelevant to the Bills. They have plenty now and lots moving forward.
I LOVE that Barr backed out. I can’t believe that they didn’t get Paradis at that number. That feels like it should have been an easy one. From the sounds of it Bell isn’t dying to go there either. He may end up there but...
You might want to read it again. You are missing a few key words “at this point.” FWIW, Barr was the worst of their signings IMO. As I said, both teams have improved. I’m not sure what you are debating?
I think it’s safe to say that they will pick BPA (which they have been saying the whole time). It is likely a lineman but I even think that Devin White is an option. If I had to guess it is pass rush of some sort.
