Yep My main point originally was, “why do fans look at a guy taking less money as a good thing?” I don’t want to hear someone talking about, “the ability to load up the rest of your roster either.” The top guys are all within a couple million of each other and NO team is ever in a position where they are up against the cap with no other options. As an example the Bills have like $6M of cap space between Ivory (already released), Bodine and Vlad. That doesn’t include Murphy or Dimarco who can create another $3.5M or so. The cap isn’t restricting anybody ever. For some reason though fans take great offense when a guy wants more money. They say things like, “honor the contract that you signed.” Why should the player honor it when the team doesn’t have to? The situation changes. If you don’t live up to your end of the contract the team can wash their hands. If you exceed your current contract why shouldn’t the same rules apply? Why side with billionaires instead of millionaires? It doesn’t make any sense yet people always look at these guys as “divas.” Fans get so triggered when a player wants more money. That is what’s stupid. They aren’t doing anything wrong. They are playing the EXACT hand that they are dealt. You don’t see NBA players holding out or asking for more money. That’s because both sides agree to a contract and honor it. Football made these rules and this is the only way that the players can protect their earnings. We shouldn’t dislike “divas” who ask for more money. We should understand the “why” and not care at all. It’s not our money. You don’t want your friend, the plumber, to not get a raise because it will limit what else the plumbing company can do. Why do that with football players? Why is it wrong for an employee to ask for a raise? The rest of us do it all of the time. -

I think that’s stupid. I question the decision making of anyone that doesn’t maximize their value. Their earning windows are small and their contracts aren’t guaranteed. I think that’s stupid. -

This guy doesn’t want a raise!! That means we like him right? We don’t like “divas” that want more money correct? -

I don’t even hate the trade down but would hate that draft. Just using the players available after the trade down my draft would look like this: 15 - Hockenson 40 - Simmons 74 - Winovich 76 - Khalen Saunders 96 - McLaurin 112 - Miles Sanders 131 - Love 147 - Titus Howard 181 - Tauaefa 225 - Dawson Knox 228 - Anthony Johnson This would be an absolute home run. You take 2 injured high upside guys in Simmons and Love and insulate them with Saunders and Sanders. -
Just follow the money!! This conversation isn’t about fan experience or watching the game. The Pegula’s, NFL and other owners want the Bills to make more money. That’s the reason that this discussion is being had. NY and Erie County want to spend as little as possible on this endeavor. There is NOTHING else relevant to the conversation. It’s just a matter of where in the middle they meet.

If you are an NFL player you’d NEVER go risk your health in the minor leagues. Your contracts aren’t guaranteed as it is. Even if you are a guy that’s fighting to stay in the league it’s a bad idea.

I don’t, at all, understand the hate for Oliver. He was an elite prospect with elite production. He had a down year last year but was doubled or tripled every play. If he were 10 lbs. heavier we wouldn’t get a sniff at him. He’s going to be a star. The guy that I don’t want early is probably Dillard. He’s a little finesse for me. He’s good in the pass game but there are a lot of questions in the run game. If I am taking an OL in the top 10 he better not have holes. I don’t think that he’s a bad player but not a guy that I want in the top 10. I, like YOLO, know that Prince stinks. Just say no!!

They love Oliver. There is a chance that he is their top overall player. They certainly aren’t using 10 picks. They won’t even use 7 imo. These picks are there to move around. They don’t have a ton of spots. Oliver is an absolute stud at a position of need. If they are as high on him as I suspect they have no issue moving up.

They have been ALL OVER him in the pre-draft process. That was the 1st guy that we heard about a visit with. He blew the doors off on his pro day and one day later we are hearing rumblings of trading up. He plays the last starting spot still open. He plays it in the exact manner that they want someone to play that position. The dots are easy to connect. They are in love.

Best ever NFL running back
Kirby Jackson replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barry Sanders is, without question, the best that I have ever seen. I’m not old enough to remember OJ or Brown or Sayers or Sweetness. Peterson is probably next. FWIW, I spent a good bit of time with Marv Levy (LAMP). I asked him one day who the best football player that he had ever seen. Without hesitation he said, “Gayle Sayers.” I said, “Marv do you want to think about that?” He said, “No, it’s Gayle Sayers.” That’s enough for me. -
Honestly, the overwhelming majority of Saints fans are in the Gulf South. Bills fans are spread much more widely. In New Orleans, you are born here, live here and die here. They do love the Saints though. It is a little different from Buffalo in one way. The BIGGEST Bills fans (ie us) care more about the Bills than the biggest Saints fans. The casual Saints fans comprise a much bigger percentage of the area than casual Bills fans.

Unpopular Take. The Bills should trade for Rosen

Yep, that’s an unpopular take
